Mateo Francisco is entering the Love Island Australia villa as a week two bombshell, following in the footsteps of Mick and Kye.

According to the Newcastle-based Islander, he’s “tall, tanned and got the tattoos” so he will “definitely turn heads”.

New bombshells normally hold the power when it comes to their first recoupling ceremony, so if Mateo has the pick of the bunch, we can’t wait to see who he gravitates towards.

Here’s everything we know about Love Island Australia bombshell Mateo.

Is Love Island Australia’s Mateo an influencer?

Unlike some of the other cast members this season — like Yana and Gabby, who boast over 100,000 followers each — Mateo isn’t a content creator.

Ahead of his appearance on Love Island Australia, he has just over 1000 followers. However, we’re sure that will change when he sets foot in the villa during the November 6 episode.

Mateo owns his own business as a roofing contractor and loves being able to work solo.

What is Mateo looking for in the Love Island Australia villa?

In his intro video, Mateo revealed that physically, he’s looking for a girl with dark hair and blue eyes, which aptly describes Gabby and Yana.

He added that he’s looking for a woman who’s driven and confident, and calls himself husband material.

Where is Mateo from?

The 26-year-old was born in Ecuador, but moved to Australia with his family when he was four. He currently lives in Newcastle, New South Wales.

Fans are convinced Lacey will go for Mateo

Lacey’s already found herself romantically linked to three guys in the Love Island villa so far, and fans believe that upon the tradie’s arrival, that will increase.

“Poor Mateo…..Lacey will be in love again within 4.2 seconds,” one person wrote on Facebook, while another added: “Lacey is gonna love Mateo!”

Love Island Australia 2025 drops Monday – Thursday on 9Now.
