Is I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! even real? A healthy dose of scepticism landed on Abbie Chatfield‘s desk recently, with the former winner of the reality show assuring naysayers that it’s the real deal: the sleeping arrangements are uncomfortable, the food challenges are gross, and the boredom is palpable.

In a TikTok that runs for two and a half minutes, Abbie makes it her mission to clap back at a non-believer who made the following statement: “Sorry, but you cannot convince me that the I‘m A Celebrity jungle is a real jungle and not just a TV set somewhere in Australia. There is no way 12 celebrities are sleeping outside in hammocks outside, I refuse to believe it, sorry.”

Describing the commenter as a “sookie la la”, Abbie declared: “I’m fighting for my life in the comments, because people don’t believe me when I say you do sleep outside.” She added that while some commenters were accusing her of lying because she had signed an NDA, she hadn’t signed any such agreement, going on to declare: “The world isn’t a conspiracy!”

“Guys, we sleep in hammocks outside, we actually only eat half a bowl of rice and beans,” she starts. “Unless it’s like, 50 degrees, when they give you like a popper because you feel like you’re about to faint,” she continued. “It is gnarly out there. Guys, please put some respect on everyone who is on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. It is so f**king hard.”

Abbie Chatfield recalls her time on I’m A Celeb

Speaking more of her experience on the show, she said: “You’re so hungry, you’re so bored. You can’t sing because things are copyrighted… so you can’t distract yourself by singing. You have no writing materials. It is the weirdest show. It is so much fun though – I have done a lot of reality shows – It’s actually the fucking best. It’s great.”

The former contestant added that she actually has back issues and is seeing a physiotherapist due to “sitting on those logs all day, hunched over” and “sitting on a f**king bit of canvas”.

Notably, Abbie didn’t swat away the suggestion that the show is not filmed in a real jungle, and just a random TV set on the Gold Coast. So the jury may still be out on that one.
