I’m a Celebrity Australia 2026 descended into chaos this week after Luke Bateman and Dyson Heppell had to pick two campmates to be put up for elimination. They opted for Barry Williams and were tossing up between Bek Elmaloglou and Cyrell Paule, before deciding on the latter after a game of rock, paper, scissors.
Unsurprisingly, their choice wasn’t well received by Bek and Cyrell, who threw a tantrum after finding out. However, Barry Williams, who was ultimately eliminated by Luke and Dyson’s decision, told Chattr that while it was ‘good TV’, he couldn’t understand why the women were so upset.
“Everybody has their own way of looking at things. I can say it’s not my way of looking at things,” he explained.
“I mean, I’m seeing this, this argument about how they were selected. And nobody says, Well, wait a minute, Luke and Dyson — I was their go-to guy — and there was no paper-rock-scissors with me.
“They just went, ‘Yeah, Barry’. And I’m not going, ‘Oh, how could you do this to me? Oh, did you do this because you’re trying to get rid of me? Don’t you like me because I’m not an Aussie’, you know? It’s the game, it’s why we’re there.”
Who was Barry Williams closest to in camp?
Barry told Chattr that he absolutely loved his time in the jungle on I’m a Celebrity, and named two of his fellow campmates who he grew particularly close to.
“I think Gary Sweet and I had a very nice connection. I did enjoy Matt a lot, and all of them. But I think Matt is an absolute hoot, but Gary and I probably have the most in common.”
So is a flight to Sydney on the cards for the American star to catch up with his former castmates?
“I would absolutely love to,” he said. “I want to come and spend some time there, and then I’m going to take an extra few days and run down to New Zealand, because I’ve always wanted to do that.”
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here airs Sunday to Wednesday on Channel 10 and 10Play.
