Deni and Cyrell in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

The new season of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! has teased a “showdown” between campmates Deni Hines and Cyrell Paule, with the drama set to unfold this very Sunday.

It appears that the two women are set to butt heads, with a promo for the episode showing footage of Cyrell telling Deni she seems to “always have something to say”, to which Deni responds, “oh you’re a feisty one, aren’t ya?”

Cyrell hits back, saying, “I am very feisty, I’m very very very feisty”. Deni goes on to point out that she’s almost two decades older than Cyrell, and that she should “watch herself”, to which the former MAFS contestant didn’t back down. “You’re boring me”, a visibly irritated Cyrell retorted.

Swathes of fans are rallying for Deni to win what the network teased as “a showdown for the ages”, with one Facebook fan commenting that she “can’t wait for Sunday to come around” and that Deni was going to “have Cyrell on toast”.

She said she’d “seen Deni in action at the club” in her younger days and that she “hasn’t changed much”.

Another commenter reckons Cyrell needs “taking down a peg or two”, with another Deni supporter commenting, “If Cyrell deliberately antagonises Deni, it will be game on and Deni will take no prisoners. Otherwise I think Deni is very supportive of everyone.”

Cyrell also has her supporters, with one popular comment reading: “I’m team Cyrell, not a fan of Deni!” Another commenter pointed out, though, that some of the negative sentiment around Deni is born from the idea that the singer “turned her back” on Australia by leaving the country to live in Thailand. “Even though she was born here, she said she was never accepted in her own country because she was Black,” the commenter explains.

“Well, good on her, that was her choice to make a better life for herself in another country”. The commenter added that Hines has said that in Thailand, she’s never had “one racist thing said about her”.

It’s all going down this Sunday… plus, we’ll be witnessing the arrival of celebrity chef George Calombaris into the jungle.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Continues Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7.30pm, and Sunday at 7pm. Watch + Stream Free On 10.
