Georgie Parker has been on Home and Away since 2010. She plays the much-loved character of Roo Stewart, daughter of Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) and close friend of Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons). However, it looks like she’s departing Summer Bay for a new project, an Australian show called Dalliance.
With the new trailer released this month, Home and Away fans are all asking the same question: has Roo left Summer Bay for good?
In April, Emily shared a photo of herself and Ray from set, saying they were “missing” Georgie.
In a Facebook group, one person asked: “How is Roo leaving Home and Away?”
However, it looks like Georgie just took a break from filming to be part of Dalliance. On June 30, the actor shared some photos on Instagram showing she was back out at Palm Beach, where Home and Away is filmed. “Magic hour,” she captioned the photos.
One eagle-eyed fan noted this means Roo sticks around and “doesn’t die” in this year’s cliffhanger.

Dalliance is an Australian TV show coming to Paramount in August 2026. It stars Hugo Weaving, Heather Mitchell, David Wenham, Ryan Panizza, Georgie Parker, Wayne Blair, Carolyn Bock, Catherine McClements, Russel Dykstra, Kate Winter and John Doyle.
The six-episode series follows a close-knit friend group in their 60s as they figure out what life is meant to be. When one of their own passes away, the group of friends start to embrace life.
Home and Away fans are excited for it, with one saying the casting was “fire”.
“Another great-looking Aussie show,” another added.
How does Georgie Parker get to appear in other projects?
Georgie Parker appears to have an agreement with Home and Away producers that allows her to pursue other acting projects. This includes plays, films and TV shows. Her character Roo can be written off for a period as she goes to visit a relative or friend, meaning she doesn’t have to quit Home and Away for good.
