Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has reminded fans of her unexpected Hollywood moment, revealing she once appeared in one of the biggest sci-fi films of all time.
The actress, best known for playing Leah Patterson on the long-running Australian soap, had a cameo in the 1999 blockbuster The Matrix starring Keanu Reeves.
And while plenty of fans know Ada from her decades on Australian television, her appearance in the iconic film is a career moment that might have flown under the radar for some viewers.

Taking to Instagram, Ada shared a throwback to her time in the film, where she played the mysterious White Rabbit Girl.
“Throwback to when I had a cameo in The Matrix and played the White Rabbit Girl,” she wrote in the caption of her post.
What was Ada Nicodemou’s role in The Matrix?
Long before she became a fixture in Summer Bay, Ada appeared as Dujour, a character who plays a small but memorable role in The Matrix.
In the film, Dujour visits computer hacker Neo, played by Keanu Reeves, alongside her boyfriend Choi, portrayed by Marc Gray.
The pair arrive at Neo’s apartment to collect illegal software he has written, setting the scene for one of the film’s early encounters.
But it’s Dujour’s distinctive white rabbit tattoo that makes her appearance particularly significant.
The tattoo catches the attention of Neo and ultimately leads him to follow the white rabbit to a nightclub, where he meets Trinity, played by Carrie-Anne Moss.
Although Ada’s role was brief, she was part of a film that went on to become a defining moment in science-fiction cinema.
Fans react to Ada Nicodemou’s Matrix cameo
Ada’s appearance in the film has previously surprised fans, with many admitting they had watched The Matrix without realising the Australian actress was in it.
When she shared the throwback on Instagram, followers were quick to react to the unexpected career reveal.
“OMG I love this film franchise and you just tell me about this now!” one fan commented.
“What a cool experience to have had!” another wrote.
Another viewer even suggested that Ada’s memorable look from the film should make its way into Home and Away, asking: “Can this please be Leah’s costume in Home and Away??”
While Ada is now synonymous with Leah Patterson, her turn as the White Rabbit Girl remains a fascinating piece of trivia for fans of both the soap and the iconic film.
Home and Away airs on 7 and 7Plus each weeknight at 7.00 pm.
