Former Home and Away star Samara Weaving has opened up about the hardest part of being a new mum, and all the embarrassing post-pregnancy moments that come with it. During an interview with Betches, she was asked what the “least cute part of being a parent” entailed.

“Least cute part is the stitches and wearing a diaper yourself,” Samara revealed, before sharing she had to order adult nappies to her home.

“My husband [Jimmy Warden] texted [our] entire friendship group thread [and said], ‘Haha, whoever sent these adult diapers to the house, like you think we’re’ old, and I went, ‘Jimmy, I ordered them for myself!’,” she said.

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, back in May. Instead of trying to have an aesthetic birth experience, Samara told People she was more intent on following the instructions of the health professionals.

“I really just listened to my doctors and nurses,” she said. “I followed my instincts, but at the end of the day, I was like whatever [the doctor] wants to do, I will do.”

Will Samara Weaving stop acting now she’s a mum?

In the interview with People, Samara shared how she plans on balancing motherhood with her acting career. She’s taken Hollywood by storm, appearing in Ready Or Not and its sequel, Scream VI, The Babysitter and Nine Perfect Strangers.

“A lot of women have paved the way for me to be able to [balance career and motherhood],” the actor said. “I watched my mum do it, and it was so nice having her with me when the baby was first born, and such a bonding experience.”

“Whatever you want to do, whatever kind of mum you want to be, I support them all. Hats off to you.”

Samara and Jimmy have yet to share any photos on Instagram of their newborn, and tend to keep their life together quite private.

Home and Away airs Mondays – Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
