The wholesome premiere of Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) took a worrying turn when one of the Ladies suddenly fainted after being eliminated.
In the 2026 premiere of FWAW Australia, after a series of speed dates, Farmer Jason chose Beth, Logan, Jessica, Jessie and Poppy to take to his farm, which sadly meant that Bene and Britt missed out.
At first, the women appeared to take the news on the chin. “Thank you for having us,” Benny told Farmer Jason, but then she started leaning on Britt’s arm.
Then all of a sudden, Bene fainted as host Natalie Gruzlewski, Farmer Jason, the Ladies and medics rushed to her. “There was a bit of a medical incident as Bene ended up fainting after I had finished selecting the girls to come back,” Farmer Jason told Chattr ahead of the premiere.
“It was a bit of a shock. We tried to rush over there quickly to see if she was all right, and yeah, she ended up being okay.”

Bene joked with Farmer Jason afterwards, “I’ve never been rejected on telly before, gosh make a girl faint!” So what actually happened and did Bene have a medical emergency? Chattr spoke to Bene to find out exactly what went down.
Why did Farmer Wants A Wife’s Bene faint after being dumped by Farmer Jason?
Bene took Chattr back to the moment that Farmer Jason revealed she wouldn’t be heading to his farm when the sound dropped out of the busy barn.
“I remember starting to get that tunnel vision and that whooshing sound, and I was like, ‘Oh shit, no, no, no, I’m not about to faint.’ I remember changing my stance to standing on both feet to try and balance, and that was when I stumbled and grabbed Brittany, and I just remember being like, ‘Oh, I’m going down’,” Bene recalled.
The FWAW contestant believes it was a variety of factors that played a part in her fainting. “There was so much going through my mind. You see 10 minutes of my journey on the episode, but what you don’t see is the months leading up to that: submitting an application, doing a video interview, having an audition, meeting the producers, taking time off work, organising care for my daughter,” she said.

“Then suddenly you’re standing there and it’s literally all in someone else’s hands. What’s gonna happen next? And I think I was so overwhelmed by it all, but as soon as he chose the fifth girl to go back to the farm, I clocked that it wasn’t me. It’s like my brain was so disappointed, but my body stopped running on adrenaline, and I think it just hit me like a freight train. I did say Farmer Jason made me weak at the knees [laughs], and just also physically affected me.”
Bene wanted to make it crystal clear that this wasn’t some dramatic medical emergency. “There were no medical issues or anything… it was a really long day, I think the Spanx were too tight,” she joked.
“I’m a coffee girl through and through, and so I have about three coffees, and generally a Red Bull every day. It was probably a self-inflicted caffeine withdrawal. We had coffee, there was always water and drinks and snacks, there was everything around, but it’s such a surreal experience that I guess I probably forgot to drink as much water as I should [have].”
She was offered the chance to go to the doctor or hospital by the production. “They gave me all of those options, and I insisted that I was fine,” Bene shared.
Bene was grateful to host Natalie for hopping into action so quickly. “Nat noticed I was going down, and really quickly yelled out to grab a medic, and from what I’ve heard, within seconds everyone was there. Jason ran straight over… then I was sort of just so mortified that I was like, please get me out of here.”
Despite Bene’s dramatic final moments on FWAW, she has nothing but kind words to say about Farmer Jason.
“Jason was incredible. He’s so genuine and authentic. He came straight to check on me as soon as I went down, and he even touched base afterwards. He came back out to make sure that I was okay again before I left the set,” Bene said.
“He’s such a down-to-earth, authentic, genuine guy. He’s got family values, everything just aligned so much with what I was looking for. I was definitely crushing from day one.”
Farmer Wants A Wife airs Monday and Tuesday at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
