Farmer Wants A Wife’s (FWAW) Farmer Alex stunned viewers when he connected with Eddy on a romantic solo date. The pair have demonstrated an undeniable instant connection, and their love story is only beginning.
At the end of their date, Farmer Alex pulled out a mother-of-pearl necklace for Eddy, a symbol of divine femininity. She was surprised but touched by his thoughtful gesture.
In an interview with Chattr, Farmer Alex says he knew it was a big move to make this early on in the game, but he’s a romantic.
“Going on a reality TV show is also a big thing to do [when] looking for a partner, so you [have] to make grand gestures when you get the opportunity,” he spills.
“I love making grand gestures. I think that the world would be a better place if we were all a bit more whimsy, so yeah. I love giving gifts like that.”
The 28-year-old farmer admits that Eddy wasn’t exactly what he was looking for in a partner, and he “shocked” himself by picking her for the first solo date.
“I was a bit shocked by the decision that I made, because Eddy didn’t actually represent the things that I originally went onto the show looking for,” he says. “She just wowed me [in] that very small amount of time that we had together, and so I maybe [chose her] a little bit on impulse.”
However, he assures us he feels a “real connection” with Eddy, which was there from the get-go, and wanted to explore what could grow between the two.

The self-confessed romantic also tells Chattr his grand gesture for Eddy isn’t the first time he’s given jewellery to somebody. Hmm, sounds like a move he loves to pull.
“My first girlfriend, when I was 15, I asked her out by buying her a locket, and it said ‘Will you go out with me?’ inside the locket,” Farmer Alex admits.
“I was 15, and I’ve been a romantic ever since.”
He also says he “loves rom-coms” which tracks. Will Farmer Alex and Eddy find their happily ever after, or could there be some bumps in the road to come?
Farmer Alex has chosen Delia, Eddy, Gabbie, Rachel and Suzannah to take back to the farm, so there’s some stiff competition.
