Love is already in the air on Big Brother Australia 2026, with two potential romances blossoming in the house.
Self-proclaimed princess Ebony has set her sights on 22-year-old tradie Austin after previously revealing she’d never been kissed or been on a date. The pair enjoyed a cute couples’ photoshoot and held hands while cuddling in bed, fuelling speculation about their chemistry.
However, things took an awkward turn when Ebony (rather forcefully) encouraged Austin to ask her on an ice cream date. Austin quickly friend-zoned her, insisting “friends don’t go on dates” but she didn’t seem to take the hint. Stay tuned!
Meanwhile, the bubbly Kyrah and self-described serial dater Marshy have been attracting attention as another potential house couple. The 25-year-old teacher entered the competition newly single after ending a five-year relationship, while Marshy made it clear he was open to finding romance.
The pair have spent time talking privately and on a recent episode, were spotted cuddling in bed. Oop! In a Reddit thread, one viewer questions the legitimacy of this relationship. “It’s not genuine. It’s a showmance. I’m thinking they’re going to have people acting like they did with Bruce [Dunn] and Coco [Beeby], making out it’s love, which was hilarious,” they claimed.

However, another viewer defended the budding romance. “I think it could be potentially cute and nice for both of them,” they wrote.
So are any of these romances for real, or are they just for the cameras? Big Brother winner, Coco Beeby, knows a thing or two about having a crush in the BB house, as she was briefly romantically entangled with fellow housemate Bruce Dunne, and she shared her thoughts with Chattr.
Coco Beeby’s thoughts on Big Brother’s romances and showmances
Coco has warned potential couples against getting together just to score more votes from the public. “If you’re gonna do something, do it because you guys want to do it. Don’t do it because of any other reason — that’s just silly. You can’t keep up with it. You have to be yourself in the house. If you’re pretending to be someone else, it’ll catch up with you,” she said.
“If you’re feeling it, then go for it. But I don’t know about going into the house just to create a romantic connection. That might not be a good idea.”
For Coco, she admitted that the pressures from BB fans had an impact on her relationship outside the house. “Go with whatever your gut is telling you. Don’t do anything because you think it’s going to be good for the show — that’s going to put so much pressure on you, not only in the house but out of the house.”
Big Brother airs 7:30pm weeknights and 7pm Sundays on 10, with the live stream available via 10 Play.
