Big Brother 2025 Australia medical emergency

If you thought Big Brother Australia was dramatic, wait until you hear what happened offscreen. During the Big Brother Australia live show on Wednesday, a fan sought medical help after almost passing out in the crowd during the broadcast.

Thankfully, producers, an on-set medic and even the host, Mel Tracina, sprang into action and made sure the fan got to the hospital safely.

“I just want to post a big thank you to the Endemol Production team last night at the live show. Unfortunately I was on [the] edge of passing out during the show, moved from my spot near the stage and then ended up blacking out,” the fan wrote on a Facebook group.

“The care I received from the team and a beautiful medic by the name of Hannah in a time of panic was second to none. I was taken backstage and a producer sat with me while the medic looked after me, [and] the gorgeous Mel Tracina [came] over to make sure I was okay and then [stayed] with me until I was taken out via wheelchair so I could get to the hospital.”

Other group members sent well wishes and many praised Mel for her kind nature.

“Shows how down to earth and what a legend Mel is!” one person wrote.

“Awww I reckoned she was lovely but this tops it!” another said.

“Mel is definitely a star! She’s been so great as host and on The Cheap Seats,” a third chimed in.

“I’m glad you were well looked after. Mel seems lovely,” another remarked.

Mel Tracina has a soft spot for Big Brother fans

Mel previously told Chattr she was so excited to host Big Brother Australia due to the live audience at Dreamworld. No wonder she was so concerned about the fan’s medical emergency!

“I love being surrounded by a live audience of loyal Big Brother fans who ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ at the daily show recaps and the housemates,” she said. “I also love the live TV experience. It’s exhilaratingly infectious because you don’t know what’s going to happen.

“The housemates are a great bunch of Aussies, a real cross-section of society and watching them live under one roof has been so enjoyable.”

Let’s hope there are no more medical emergencies as we head towards the Big Brother Australia finale.

Big Brother Australia 2025 airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and Sundays at 7pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.
