Vinnie was blindsided when Ed handed him seven nomination votes and branded him fake during a recent nomination ceremony, and in one of Big Brother’s many twists, he watched the drama unfold in the lounge room.
Ed received double the votes of the other housemates after opening an unmarked Christmas gift, but, apparently unaware, his votes were broadcast to the other housemates.
After watching his friend come for his jugular, Vinnie pulled Ed aside to ask why he hadn’t raised his concerns about Vinnie being ‘fake’ in a private one-on-one conversation. Ed doubled down on his claims about Vinnie, and said that a lot of the housemates felt the same.
In a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Vinnie reflected on that conversation and reiterated that he was blindsided by Ed.
“Everyone’s seen the laundry scene with me and Ed, and how I reacted was as true as I would react any other day. I was really blindsided by the comments,” he said.
“Initially, I got along with Ed so well. I cut his hair every third or fourth day and had a lot of conversations with him. I shared a bedside table with him for the majority of the experiment. “
Vinnie added that he was glad Big Brother showed the house Ed’s nominations and believes that the addition of a live stream will help show his former friends’ true colours.
“[For] Big Brother to ultimately show him lying was, I felt, appropriate, because Big Brother doesn’t lie. You can’t hide on Big Brother. Big Brother is always watching, and the truth will always come out because of the live stream.”

Does Vinnie believe that Ed is Big Brother’s ‘villain’?
Since the poignant scene, the public has begun to turn against Ed, with one social media user calling him a “villain” and another labelling him as “arrogant”. When Chattr asked Vinnie if he believed that the villain comments about Ed were deserved, he suggested that his actions spoke loudly.
“I think the portrayal is — whether it’s fair or right — that’s up to Ed. That is up to Ed to be able to write his own story. Because how he acts is how he will be shown. How I acted is how I was shown.
“You genuinely do write your own narrative in there, and the live stream doesn’t hide anything, there are die-hard fans, as you would know, that watch every moment of the live stream, and I think that they’re starting to see everyone for who they are.”
The Big Brother Australia 2025 finale airs on Monday, December 8 at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.
