Married At First Sight (MAFS) groom Chris Nield is a big sceptic of the experiment, so how will he go when matched with confident bride Brook Crompton?
Chris is possibly one of the most hated men in Australia right now, after his fatphobic comments during the Bucks night caused uproar online. In his audition tape, he announced that his turn-offs were “fake tan, needy and fat people”, and he told the other grooms that “overweight” people were his dealbreaker.
While Brook is a model and ticks Chris’ boxes, she’s also a strong personality who isn’t in the experiment to waste time. She’s been cheated on multiple times, and it’s unlikely she will stick around if Chris’ attitude stinks.
Seeing as MAFS 2026 was filmed back in July last year, we already know if Chris and Brook made it to the end of the experiment. For all you spoiler lovers out there, we’ve rounded up all the information about whether Chris and Brook are still together in real life. This is your final spoiler warning!

Are MAFS’ Chris and Brook still together in real life?
It sounds like Chris and Brook have called it quits. According to an insider, Chris was made to leave MAFS after two weeks, and it sounds like there’s a bit of a blowup.
“Spoiler alert, [Chris is] not going to be on the show for very long, I think two weeks at best,” Josh Fox claimed on the MAFS Funny podcast.
According to Josh, while MAFS viewers will see Chris and Brook hit it off during their honeymoon, it won’t last long. Sounds spicy.
“She sees straight through him. And there is a big thing that happens. And at one point she was like, ‘Nope, see ya’. And yeah, [she] flew home, but then she came back,” he added.
After Brook came back into the MAFS experiment, there’s apparently a big off-screen moment that happens between the bride and groom.
“That basically changed everything, and [Chris] was made to leave within 48 hours of that thing happening.”
The couple are still following each other on Instagram for now, but this could be a tactic to throw us off the scent. For now, it seems unlikely that these two are still together.
Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm this week on Channel 9 and 9Now.
