FBoy Island cancelled: A sad day for reality TV and untrustworthy men

Binge Says ‘FBoy, Bye’: The Island Adventure Is Officially Over
Filed under news.

Say it ain’t so! After two glorious seasons of bombshells, betrayals and beachside revelations, FBoy Island Australia is officially no more. Binge has pulled the plug on a third season, and if you listen closely… You can probably hear the distant cries of every reality TV lover who just wanted one more dramatic FBoy reveal.

A Foxtel Group spokesperson confirmed the news to Mumbrella, saying:

“We won’t be commissioning a third season of FBoy Island Australia for Binge.”

We’re not crying. You’re crying.

So much sass, so much satire

With its free-flowing satire, FBoy Island Australia was always a little unconventional when it came to dating reality TV—and that extended to its casting process, too. Forget boring application forms. In true FBoy fashion, potential contestants were invited to literally slide into the show’s DMs.

“Ladies, FBoy’s & Nice Guys – DM us your contact details if you would like to find love (or money) on the island!” read the show’s Instagram caption. “If you know someone else who would be a great fit, tag them in the comments!!”

Yes, the same way you shoot your shot on Tinder was how you applied to be on national TV. And honestly? Iconic.

There were real plans brewing for Season 3. New FBoys. New heartbreaks. New 50K dilemmas. But then… everything went quiet. And now, here we are, mourning the cancellation of a show that was never afraid to make fun of itself—or the entire dating genre.

Where Are the FBoy Island Stars Now?

Some of our favourite reality lovebirds are still out there doing the most:

  • Molly and Nick from Season 1 are still together and going strong. They’ve moved in together, conquered the post-reality TV world, and are now reportedly hunting for a house. From FBoy drama to domestic bliss? Love that for them.
  • Krystal and Paddy, who turned heads in Season 2, sadly split after filming. Krystal later said she felt “blindsided.” But we still stan her for delivering some of the season’s most iconic one-liners and podcast-worthy tea. Check out her It’s A Lot interview here.
  • Nicole and Jack, and Ally and Joe? Surprisingly, still coupled up. Which is more than we can say for some MAFS marriages, tbh.

Speaking of MAFS, remember Dave from the 2025 season? Yeah, the one who applied to FBoy Island while he had a secret fiancée. That scandal deserves its own reality show.

Abbie Chatfield was our queen and chaos Leader

No host was better suited to this show than Abbie Chatfield. The ex-Bachelor runner-up brought razor-sharp commentary, feminist flair, and a whole lot of chaotic energy to every episode. From calling out toxic behaviours to throwing shade like a pro, Abbie elevated FBoy Island into must-watch TV.

Beyond the island, she’s been everywhere—from The Masked Singer to launching a beer brand, her Verbose fashion line, and that podcast you’re definitely already subscribed to. She’s also stayed in the headlines lately for beefing with Sydney Sweeney stans, MAFS castmates, and even feminist icons. Catch up here, here, and here.

She called FBoy Island her dream job, and honestly, we get it.

Why did Fboy Island get cancelled? Let’s talk

While Binge never released official viewing numbers—because #streaminglife—FBoy Island had a loyal cult following, trended regularly on socials, and inspired podcast debates across the country.

But timing is everything, and the show’s fate might’ve been sealed by Foxtel Group’s recent sale to international streaming giant DAZN. The $3.4 billion deal likely shifted internal priorities, with new decision-makers, new strategies, and less room for shows that don’t have blockbuster metrics (even if they do have FBoys hiding behind emotional walls).

Also worth noting: FBoy Island was the only Aussie reality dating show exclusively behind a paywall. That meant you had to subscribe to Binge to watch it—which may have limited its reach compared to the free-to-air powerhouses like MAFS and The Bachelor.

Still, it made a splash. And honestly? We’ll take two unforgettable seasons over none.

So here we are—mourning the loss of a show that made us laugh, gasp, and scream “Nooo, he’s totally an FBoy!” at our TVs. But also celebrating what it gave us: epic finales, chaotic casting, strong female leads, and a host who absolutely understood the assignment.

Both seasons of FBoy Island Australia are still available to stream on Binge via Hubbl. Rewatch them. Relive the drama. Tag your friend who would’ve been perfect for Season 3. And never forget: love might be temporary, but FBoy memes? They’re forever.
