One of our new favourite Married at First Sight Australia 2023 couples is about to split — and spoiler alert! It’s not going to be who you think it is!
One of the show’s producers has revealed that fans are about to be shaken by the revelation, seeing as though it happens in an “unexpected and controversial way”.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, director of content at Endemol Shine Australia and former executive producer of MAFS, Tara McWilliams admitted that some relationships start off “really strong”.
I think sometimes the distraction of the group can impact the success of a relationship, and we’ve seen it time and time again,” she told the outlet.
“This year, we’ve got some relationships that start off really strong. There’s one in particular that goes from strength to strength, and we’re like, this is an absolute sure thing.”
McWilliams then explained that so many things were “tick, tick, tick”; however, “at the final hurdle, it falls in quite an unexpected and controversial way.” Nooooo!
Which Married at First Sight Australia 2023 couples are the strongest?
At the time of publication, Alyssa and Duncan, Cameron and Lyndall, Tahnee and Ollie and Sandy and Dan have all formed instant and strong connections — so it’s anyone’s guess on who it will be.
While she knows that they couldn’t work it out in the end, McWilliams couldn’t quite get her head around the relationship’s demise, saying that she is now trying to think about who “screwed” it up.
“I’m thinking that should have been a really happy, successful relationship, and it probably would have been.
“But I think the impact of the group and expectations that people bring into the experiment that they wouldn’t normally carry outside of the experiment get the better of them. So you just can’t predict it.”
