Lego Masters’ Hamish Blake & Brickman tease unforgettable “all-time” favourite team in 2024

In a momentous Olympic Games year, Lego Masters 2024 will see Australia take on the World, with four brand-new Aussie teams going head-to-head with four teams of International Lego superstars!

For hosts Hamish Blake and Brickman a.k.a Ryan McNaught, having teams from Denmark, France and the USA is “exciting”, however, nothing prepared them for German duo, Felix and Annalena.

“The German team might be some of our favourite contestants of all time,” Hamish told Chattr in 2023 while on set filming the sixth season. “They won the German version and they are like pro athletes!”

Felix and Annaelena, Lego Masters 2024

Adding that after five years of purely Aussie talent, the “newness of having these international teams” is fascinating, because they have “different ways of doing things”.

“The personalities are so different and we have so much fun with the other languages,” Brickman, who was also sitting in on the same interview, said. “It really is fun and interesting because as soon as it gets tense, the teams will default back to their natural language and everyone just starts speaking either Danish, German or French!”

“They have different quirks in communication and culture,” Hamish added, before referencing the German duo once again.

“They are absolute fiends for just diverting to German. You think of Endemol Shine just spending a fortune on translating because we get to see a live brainstorm in German!”

While Hamish and Brickman have ruled the Lego Masters Brick Pit in the past, this year has been a little different.

“Felix bosses me around a little,” he admitted. “He’s 21 years old and I’m 42, but he’s just so charismatic, focused, lovely and so confident!

“He’ll just say stuff like: ‘I’m a little bit busy now. You can come back.’ He doesn’t say: “Can you come back?”, he just really politely says, ‘You will come back later.'” HA!

For Brickman, it’s astounding to watch given that Annaelena is “an amazing Lego builder and Felix becomes very protective of her.

“If you go to ask her a question, Felix will step in and go: ‘No, she’s too busy to talk to you right now’,” he said.

Cast of Lego Masters: Australia vs the World 2024. Nine

While the German team may be the ones to watch in terms of entertainment, Hamish admitted that they were not “invincible”.

“Throughout the season there are different people as winners,” he said. “Different challenges challenge them all in different ways. The wins are absolutely spread around this season.”

Dive into the juicy behind-the-scenes secrets revealed by all of the Below Deck Captains

Below Deck fans were in for a treat when all five of the show’s captains got together to dish on what it’s really like filming on board.

Yup, Captain Lee, Captain Jason, Captain Glenn, Captain Sandy and Captain Kerry all sat down with Bravo’s At The Helm for a chat about what really happens behind the scenes on their charter yachts.

Captain Lee spoke about how confronting it is to go from being a regular captain to instantly becoming a reality star.

“We’ve all gone through the morph period, where we’ve all done our job as captains, then all of a sudden, here’s a reality there’s this reality TV show that we’re thrust into,” he said.

Captain Lee. Bravo.

“All of [the other captains] went through a process of interviewing and taping, I was just a pure accident, I was that baby that wasn’t expected,” Lee explained, referring to the fact that he was the first Below Deck captain ever.

He added that turning a regular super yacht into a reality TV set is no small feat.

“As soon as the gangplank’s down, [the production team] are invading the boat. They’re ripping walls out, they’re ripping ceilings out, installing cameras, wiring, nobody really knew what we were doing or what to expect because no one had ever filmed on a boat that was going to be moving.”

Behind the scenes. Bravo.

Captain Glenn reveals the most dangerous part about filming Below Deck

Captain Glenn admitted that he didn’t find having cameras on board “that big of a deal” adding that “you get use to them pretty quickly”, however he said there were other factors involved with filming that weren’t as easy to deal with.

“The logistics of getting all the production people on and off the boat safely multiple times a day adds an extra element. That’s something you wouldn’t deal with if you had no one there other than guests,” he said.

Captain Glenn. Bravo.

Lee added that Glenn’s boats, which are Sailing Yacht as opposed to Super Yachts, are especially hard to handle.

“You have it extremely tough because you don’t have the benefit of stabilisers, you’re just rolling and rocking all over the place,” he pointed out.

“Exactly,” Glenn agreed.

Stabilisers are fins or rotors that are mounted below the boat to reduce its roll due to wind or waves.

Prime Video’s Fallout is unmistakably faithful, wildly violent and accessible to everyone

Off the back of the success of HBO’s The Last of Us, Prime Video has launched its own video game-based television series with Fallout, proving that a strong storytelling foundation isn’t needed to impress viewers.

Compared to its counterpart — where the game’s popularity and television adaptation came from an unforgettable story arc and characters — the Fallout games are anything but. Sure, there’s an overarching story created by Interplay Entertainment; however, it’s up to the player to fill in the gaps by creating their own journey.

Having nothing to fall back on as far as plot, the series solves the issue by introducing an aesthetically accurate world while staying accessible for non-gamers through interesting characters, great action and a narrative that keeps you guessing throughout the eight-episode season.

Walton Goggins, Fallout. Prime Video
Walton Goggins, Fallout. Prime Video

What is Fallout about?

For the uninitiated, the world of Fallout is set two hundred years after a nuclear apocalypse, where the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind. What awaits them on the surface is a complex, weird and violent universe, full of wacky characters and dangerous creatures.

The Prime Video series follows three protagonists with varying motives and perspectives in the context of the fictional world.

Lucy (Ella Purnell) is an optimistic Vault-dweller with a can-do spirit. Her peaceful nature is tested; however, when she is forced to the wasteland to rescue her kidnapped father (Kyle MacLachlan). Then there’s Maximus (Aaron Moten), a young soldier who rises to the rank of squire in the militaristic faction called the Brotherhood of Steel. Finally, rounding out the three is The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), a morally ambiguous bounty hunter who has seen his own history of living in the post-nuclear world. The three characters collide when chasing an artifact that has the potential to change the power dynamic in the wasteland radically.

Ella Purnell and Kyle MacLachlan, Fallout. Prime Video

Fallout is set in the same world as the gaming franchise

The series is not an adaptation of a specific game, but a new story set in the same world. Set in Los Angeles, the series allows fans to see a new area of the wasteland never before seen, and it proves to be a true spectacle for the eyes.

Fans will also be delighted to see how faithfully the show adapts the instantly recognisable aesthetic. The production design is near perfect, adopting man-made sets that are filmed on location; and while the use of CGI is present, it is remarkable how seamlessly it is integrated into the world, never making it feel like you are watching actors on a sound stage.

A scene from Fallout, season one. Prime Video

Its excellence in production design is followed by its startingly appropriate choice of needle drops throughout the series. Filled to the brim with instantly recognisable 50’s love ballads, the attention to detail throughout each episode is hard to ignore, even if you have no prior knowledge of the source material.

While fans of the game should be delighted at how faithfully the series adapts, newcomers should be pleased to know that the series is instantly accessible through its strong action setpieces, compelling story that is full of twists and turns and likeable characters that you’ll find yourself rooting for in the chaos that is the Fallout wasteland.

“The hardest thing I’ve ever done”: Brittany opens up about her fertility struggle on I’m A Celebrity

Brittany Hockley has opened up about her fertility struggle on I’m A Celebrity Australia and openly spoken about her desire to have kids.

During a camp chat, Frankie Muniz told Brittany that being a dad was the best thing he’s ever done. Brittany explained that she and her partner Benjamin Siegrest have been thinking about starting a family together.

“I still don’t feel ready for kids, it’s almost too late and I still don’t feel ready,” Brittany confided in Frankie and Callum Hole.

Brittany on I’m A Celebrity. Ten.

Callum asked Brittany where she and Ben had spoken about having kids, and Brittany said he’d “happily have them now”.

The 36-year-old said that she and Ben are in a long-distance relationship, which is a roadblock when it comes to starting a family.

“Ben is the love of my life but he lives in Scotland, he plays for a football team over there called Celtics,” she explained. “His career is there, and my career is here and he can’t really do his career here, and I can’t really do mine there, so we’re in a super tough situation.”

“We want to be together in the same country, I don’t want to be doing it on the other side of the world. I would have liked to be married, but I don’t want to do it on my own, and that’s what I’m doing.”

“I’m literally saying ok cool I’ll go down the hardest thing I’ve ever done alone.”

Brittany fertility struggle

Despite the long-distance factor, Brittany explained that she’s already taken measures towards having kids with Ben.

“Different people’s fertility deteriorates at different rates,” Brittany said adding: “Mines not great.”

“I froze some eggs to be safe, then when Ben and I met and decided we wanted to be together with what we knew we thought we’d have a better chance at having kids if we froze some embryos.”

Brittany shared that their embryo journey was a success, and opened up about the legalities behind it.

“I’m very happy to say we got three embryos, so it’s a weight off my shoulder in a sense, but it’s also something I think about all the time,” she said.

Brittany on I’m A Celebrity. Ten.

“It is both of ours obviously, it’s made. So, you have to both sign to use it, and you have to sign off if one of you dies what you want if you die are you happy for them to use it without you.

“I said if I died he could use it, and he said if he died I could use it.”

The Life Uncut podcast host added that despite the success of their retrieval, she’s still not 100% sure if she wants to have kids.

“Nothing is a guarantee in life. It’s one of those things where I think I talk myself out of whether I want kids, and I think that’s because I know I might not be able to. I feel like I just need to do it deal with it and figure it out.”

Candice Warner gains a new perspective on her husband’s “sacrifices” while on I’m a Celeb

Candice Warner became the second celebrity to be evicted from the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here 2024 jungle; an experience she has called “life-changing”.

Speaking to Chattr post-elimination, the 39-year-old revealed how she would now be implementing huge “changes” when she returned home.

“There is a lot of time to reflect [in the jungle] and you do reflect on your life. How you could have changed things,” the mother of three revealed. “How you could have approached things differently. What kind of parent am I? What kind of parent do I want to become? Am I a good wife and the daughter that I want to be to my parents? I mean, there’s so much downtime in the jungle that these are all the things that you reflect on.”

Being away from her children Ivy, eight, Indi, six, and Isla, four and husband David, was also challenging; however, it gave the former ironwoman a chance to look at her life, particularly focusing on the “sacrifices” her husband had made for their family.

“I now know how he [David] feels when he’s on tour,” she said, adding that he “misses out” on a lot of things.

“I now have a better understanding of him and what he’s been through.”

She continued: “I can now understand how he really feels and now, I might work things differently or make him feel much more included. I really hope that I can walk away from this jungle and implement some great changes in my life and I’m really looking forward to getting back and just being a better person.”

Candice Warner on doom scrolling

In addition to this life-affirming revelation, Candice also realised the hold her phone had over her, given she didn’t miss it at all while in the jungle.

“It’s too easy now to just sit at home and then just flick through your phone rather than having those conversations [with family],” she said. “I’m definitely going to be mindful of how much time I spend just scrolling and being more present for my kids. I don’t need to be on my phone and need to really be engaging with them, and to find out more about them and encourage conversation.

“It’s about talking to one another and, I think we forgot how important it is just to talk.”

Even though she’s desperate to get home, Candice admitted she will miss life in the jungle, the friends she made and the fireside chats.

“The conversations were quite wild and sometimes confronting,” she said before calling her exit “bittersweet”.

“You do really want to stay in and you really want to do well for your charity.”

Roll call! The cast of Heartbreak High dishes on what to expect from their characters in Season 2

It’s time to dust off your school bags, grab your permanent marker and take notes, because the cast of Netflix’s Heartbreak High has just revealed what’s in store for their characters in season two.

Speaking to Chattr before the April 11 premiere, Ayesha Madon (Amerie), Thomas Weatherall (Malakai), Asher Yasbincek (Harper), James Majoos (Darren), Chloe Hayden (Quinni), Will Mcdonald (Ca$h), Bryn Chapman Parish (Spider) and Sherry-Lee Watson (Missy) spoke about their roles, giving us a sneak peek into what to expect.

“I think every character in the show, I feel like there’s a version or like aspects of a character you might recognise in people [in your life],” James said of the cast. “These characters are very much themselves and exist in a really heightened world that is so fun to play in for us.”

Scroll through to meet the season two cast of Heartbreak High and see what they have to reveal!

Ayesha Madon (Amerie)

“She’s on a journey,” Ayesha said of Amerie when questioned about where her character is in season two. “It’s a definite A to B to C to D to E to F journey.

“So, I would say that is a ‘how long is a piece of string’ question. But, what I think is so special is that I feel like we all grow up a lot in this season and I don’t think any character is stationary for more than 15 minutes.”

Ayesha Madon (Amerie)

Thomas Weatherall (Malakai)

“I think leaving Malakai in season one, he’s — I don’t want to say sure of himself — but I think he’s as sure of himself as any 16-year-old is,” Thomas said.

“In classic Malakai fashion, he decides to do it all over again. I think he’s dealing with a lot of questions and curiosities and wants to value the experience of questioning some of them and exploring that, but at the same time, he is kind of just in this constant battle of right and wrong and which way to go. Whether or not he figures it out is another thing.”

Asher Yasbincek (Harper)

“I think it was really nice to work more with Ayesha this season and to have really lovely moments together,” Asher said. “We did a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff for season one that was like backstory but most of our content was fighting.

“So, it was really nice to have those characters come back together and actually really felt like that’s what they used to be like, even though we didn’t really film much of that.”

James Majoos (Darren)

“Darren is living in a state of desperation and confusion,” James revealed.

Chloé Hayden (Quinni)

“Quinni is in a place of discovery and learning that she’s worthy,” Chloé said.

Will Mcdonald (Ca$h)

“Danger. Just danger all the time and from all possible angles,” Will said of Ca$h.

Bryn Chapman Parish (Spider)

“At the start, Spider is feeling rejected and down-trodden by the school,” Bryn revealed of his character Spider. “He gets attention from a role model in his life — and he’s never got that attention shone on him — so that amplifies what he was already feeling about men’s rights and his place in the world. So, he wants to push that and assume a leadership position and it leads him down a path that isn’t good.”

Sherry-Lee Watson (Missy)

“I think you can expect to see a lot more of Missy in Season Two,” Sherry-Lee said. “To delve into her story and see how she interacts with other people, where her values and morals lie and just her love for sport and footy.”

“I don’t even get lip filler anymore”: MAFS Eden explains injury that caused her “giant upper lip”

Married At First Sight bride Eden Harper has revealed that a serious injury left her unable to control movement in her lips.

During this year’s season of MAFS, old photos of Eden with dramatically thinner lips were uncovered and shared on social media. The pics got hundreds of comments from fans, with some questioning why she decided to fill her lips when she was already beautiful.

However, Eden has now revealed that the lack of movement in her lips isn’t a result of industry, but instead of an accident.

Eden on MAFS. Nine.

“My lips are definitely my biggest insecurity and the thing that gets me down the most when I look in the mirror is the scar above my mouth and the lack of movement in my mouth,” she told Daily Mail Australia.

“I fainted when I was I think 21 or 22. And I landed on glass and it split my whole face open and that’s where the scar on my face is from,” she explained.

Eden’s mouth surgery

Eden went into detail about how dramatic the injury was and said that she had to get surgery on her mouth to fix it.

“I had a few gashes, but the most notable was probably the size of a stretched out 20 cent coin from above my nose past the end of my mouth… And in order to stitch up the hole, the surgery lifted my whole mouth upwards and it’s given me that giant upper lip look that I have.”

You can see a graphic photo the injury here.

Eden on MAFS. Nine.

“It essentially killed the muscle in my mouth and has frozen all movement in the lower half of my face, which is quite unfortunate,” she added.

“It looks so different to how it used to look and I remember when it first happened, just every time I’d look in the mirror and I’d be like, I’m never gonna look the way I used to and I just had to accept that.”

Eden says she doesn’t get lip filler

Eden told the publication that the abnormal movement of her lips is completely from the accident, and said that she doesn’t get any cosmetic procedures done to her lips.

“I do get Botox in my forehead and that, that kind of thing. But the lips. The lips is because of my scar…. I don’t even get lip filler anymore. I used to when I was younger, definitely. So in those old photos, I actually was getting filler then and I don’t get it now,” she said.

Eden in 2014. Facebook.

She added that she explained the accident during Confessions Week on the show, but the scene didn’t make it to air.

“‘(The accident) was my confession letter on the show, which didn’t actually make the cut, but it was probably the hardest six months of my life because my face was in a bandage for six months and I just thought every time I looked in the mirror I’d burst into tears because of all the scars and whatnot,” she said.

“The only one you can still see though is the one above my mouth. It was the worst one.”

The Block’s Shaynna Blaze’s new career move is a serious case of WTAF?!

Shaynna Blaze is best known as a long-time judge on The Block, but her new career move has taken a big pivot away from home renovation.

The interior design has crossed over to the music industry, with the announcement that she’s releasing her first single.

“Here we go… so excited to release my first single ‘Warrior’ on May 3. This track means so much to me. I can’t wait to share it with you,” she wrote on Instagram.

Shaynna has sung on reality TV multiple times

While Shaynna’s new career path may come as a shock to some, she’s actually sung on reality TV multiple times in the past.

Back in 2023, Shaynna competed on Celebrity Apprentice Australia and won the series. During the show’s star-studded charity auction dinner, Shaynna took to the stage and belted out a song.

“I’m about to perform a song called Lullaby Mother to Son,” she told the audience during the episode.

In 2023, Shaynna was unmasked as the Blue Bottle on The Masked Singer Australia.

During her time on the show she performed I Say a Little Prayer by Dionne Warwick and Call Me by Blondie.

She sang the latter during a Sing-Off against Tiny, who was later uncovered to be Pete Murray. Shaynna was selected by the panel to have her identity uncovered.

“[Singing] was something I squashed for a long time, but now it’s time to bring the vocal cords back out again I think,” she told the judges at the time.

Will Shaynna stay on The Block?

While Shaynna has made a move into music, she won’t be leaving her position at The Block.

She confirmed that she’ll be back on The Block 2024 alongside judges Darren Palmer and Marty Fox in an Instagram post.

The Block 2024 will air on Channel 9 and 9Now in 2024.

I’m a Celeb’s Denise Drysdale doubts career would’ve taken off if she had to begin in 2024

Denise Drysdale has bid farewell to I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here 2024 jungle after being eliminated during the April 10 episode of the series.

The oldest contestant to ever enter the camp, Denise came in with a wealth of knowledge; however, soon realised that if she were to start her career in this day and age, she would struggle to get it off the ground.

“All the younger ones are into [social] media,” the 75-year-old told Chattr the morning after her elimination. “That to me is a whole new world… they sell themselves all the time and I never had to do that.”

Admitting that her fifty-plus-year career came from putting her “head down to do the job”, she was also cognisant that she had been very “lucky” in her employment.

“If I was starting now, I don’t know whether I’d have a job,” she said. “If I had to start again, I don’t think I’d cope.”

Further, the former Studio 10 alum revealed that she was in awe of Stephen K Amos — particularly when it came to his stand-up.

“I’ve never ever had to go on stage and prove myself because every time I went on, I was on telly and the audience was ready for it,” she said.

“I have come up in a generation where we were allowed to make mistakes and it’s been fantastic. I’ve been so lucky.”

Watch I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here from Sunday – Thursday at 7.30 pm on 10 and 10Play.

The Circle season six’s new twist is easily the wildest yet

Of course, including The Spice Girl’s Emma Bunton and Mel B in The Circle season four was truly iconic, however, season six’s twist is perfectly on brand for the catfishing show.

As usual, The Circle will feature a bunch of cast members who will chat with each other through their avatars from their private rooms. However, not all of the #circlefam will be human this year.

Yup, one of the faces chatting with their fellow contestants will actually be an AI bot.

The AI bot contestants. Netflix.

Which contestant will be the AI bot?

The Circle season six cast will be introduced to Max, who’s actually an artificial intelligence chatbot but has been designed to become the most popular player in the game.

The creators of Max taught him to study past seasons and used previous competitors so that he could create the perfect profile and dialect.

“Basically, Max is social media catnip for the rest of the players, who initially have no idea that an AI bot is among them,” Netflix’s Tudum reported.

Max will be a 26-year-old veterinary intern from America’s mid-west who will have a dog in his profile pic, because, according to Max pups in pics “receive 38% more likes on social media.”

Max the chatbot. Netflix.

When does The Circle season six come out in Australia?

The brand-spanking new season will drop on Netflix in Australia on April 17, which is the same day as the US.

Unfortunately, the entire season won’t be available to binge straight away. The first four eps will drop on the premiere date, and four more will drop every Wednesday before the season finale on May 8.

The Circle season five. Netflix.

What other contestants will be in season six?

Ten other contestants will join Max for The Circle 2024, they are:

  • Kyle, 31, Miami.
  • Cassie, 29, Kentucky.
  • Brandon, 34, Ohio.
  • Quori-Tyler, 26, Los Angeles.
  • Lauren, 26, Philidelphia.
  • Carress, 37, Dallas.
  • Myle, 29, Los Angeles.
  • Steffi, 35, California.
  • Autumn, 21, Tennessee.
  • Jordan, 24, Texas.

Is there a trailer?

There sure is!

Stream The Circle season six on Netflix from April 17th.

Skye Wheatley reveals her heartbreaking struggle with an eating disorder on I’m A Celebrity

Skye Wheatley has vulnerably opened up about struggling with an eating disorder when she was younger during a chat with her I’m A Celebrity campmates.

Skye told her fellow cast members that she was feeling “skinny-fat” because she’d lost weight in the jungle, but found she was losing her muscle tone too.

The influencer added that she struggled with the pressure of being in the spotlight when she was younger, and it led to her bulimia.

“I’ve had eating disorders,” she said.

Skye on I’m A Celebrity. Ten.

“When I was much younger, just the pressure, Instagram, and being in the spotlight. I felt like I had to look a certain way,” she said in the chat. “I’m a really bad binge eater. I used to do it once a week. You’d feel sick about the amount of food I was eating in one sitting.”

Skye’s campmate Brittany Hockley asked her what she’d eat when she binged.

“I think it’s my ADHD,” Skye replied “With ADHD you are always searching for that quick dopamine hit. Packets of chips, Maltesers, two-minute noodles, blocks of chocolate. Everything within one sitting. I’d finish it all off and then within one hour…”

Skye on I’m A Celebrity. Ten.

Skye’s time in the spotlight

Skye starred on Big Brother way back in 2014, and she was considered a fan favourite from the season. The then barista placed in third place, behind winner Ryan Ginns and runner-up Travis Lunardi.

The then 20-year-old was well-liked by her fellow housemates and was only nominated once in week ten alongside David Hodis and Lina Grant.

At the time, she was the youngest contestant to ever appear on the franchise.

Shortly after appearing on Big Brother, Skye began carving out a career influencing. She now has over 600k Instagram followers and has worked with various big brands.

More recently, she launched her own fitness plans. Her website sells “booty plans” and recipe books. She also has a clothing brand called Good People Apparel, that she started with influencer Tori de Jong.

We know why Cassandra lost her s**t at Sara at the MAFS Reunion

One of the most polarising moments of the MAFS 2024 Reunion was when Cassandra Allen came out swinging at Sara Mesa, calling her “the nastiest person.”

Although Sara has had her misgivings throughout the season, the confrontation seemed a little strange considering Cassandra didn’t offer any examples or reasoning.

Fans have been pondering ever since about just what happened between the brides, and now we finally have answers.

Why did Cassandra come for Sara?

PEDESTRIAN.TV spoke to an anonymous source, who explained what actually happened between Cassandra and Sara.

“It was so uncalled for and so out of nowhere like they’d never spoken at all during the show,” the insider began.

“Cass was the only one in the show that went into the show as an influencer. She was realising her interests were boring and it wasn’t going to go anywhere and so that’s when she would start doing these things and it was so obvious to the rest of the cast.

“She just goes for Sara because she thinks she’s an easy target.”

Michael backed up Cassandra during the fight, and the source said that he too was looking to get some extra screen time.

“They were both giving ‘we need more airtime.”

Tim and Sara at the MAFS Reunion. Nine.

What happened between Sara and Cassandra at the reunion?

During Tim Calwell and Sara’s time on the couch with the experts, they touched on Sara’s cheating scandal, which is when Cassandra spoke up.

“She just lies,” Cassandra yelled at Sara from across the room. Sara instantly bit back. “That’s so f**king rude.”

However, Cassandra continued her tirade. “Everything she says is a lie. She lies to make herself look better. There’s nothing honest about her. You’ve just been playing games,” she said.

MAFS Reunion. Nine.

Sara retorted: “That’s f**king bullshit. Do you know my story? a single personal question about me?”

“Trust me, I’ve seen enough,” Cassandra replied. “She is just fake. Everything out of her mouth is fake. You just lie. Every time I talk to you you’re actually the nastiest person.”

“I never talked to you, Cass,” Sara said. “I actually never talked to you. Never have spoken a word to you. That’s bulls**t. It’s rude. I don’t know what your vendetta is or why you care so much about hating me.”

MAFS Timothy opens up about his heartbreaking time in an American max security prison

Married At First Sight groom Timothy Smith has dropped the biggest bombshell this season post-show; he spent time in a max security prison in the US.

Timothy told A Current Affair that he was sentenced to one year in a max-security prison in the US for drug smuggling, and revealed the heartbreaking consequences of his sentence.

“I was a helicopter pilot in North America that did something really stupid, and made a decision to fly marijuana across the Canadian border into the US, and got caught doing it.

Timothy’s mug shot. Nine.

“It’s something I’m not proud of. I’m definitely not proud of it, but it doesn’t define who I am and I’m not the same person I was 17 years ago.”

“That decision in 2006 keeps affecting me. Unfortunately or fortunately it shapes who I am today.”

How did Timothy become a drug smuggler?

Timothy told A Current Affair that he met a group of people at a nightclub who asked him to fly the drugs for him.

“Someone threw some money at me and said, ‘Go and take a lesson tomorrow’. I did and the instructor said I was a natural. That was the beginning of the end.

“I would take off from a little unmanned airport. I had the helicopter sorted and I’d fly up a valley and into a creek. I’d meet a 4WD (four-wheel drive) and land behind it and within a minute the helicopter would be loaded with marijuana and I’d fly south into the US.”

“It was $100,000 a trip for a couple of hours of work,” Smith said.

In 2006, Timothy found out that his mother Narree had cancer, so he flew back to Australia to see her. Once he arrived back in America US Immigration and Customs Enforcement were waiting for him in the terminal.

Timothy and his mum. Nine.

“My world changed. I was shipped off to a federal facility. No guards, four walls, 180 guys, good or bad,” Smith said.

Timothy’s mother and brother died while he was in jail

Sadly, both Timothy’s mother and brother Dave passed away during Timothy’s 12-month sentence.

“I wasn’t there when my mother and brother died. I paid the price. I pay the price every day,” he said.

Timothy and his brother. Nine.

“That’s where the sentence starts,” Timothy said. “I’m sorry for what I did. I’m sorry to everyone I hurt and I don’t want anyone to do what I did. I don’t want you to think there’s some sort of glamorous life out there, they are real consequences.”

The MAFS cast’s before and after Instagram follower counts show who the fan favs are

There are a few things that are certain when it comes to Married At First Sight; there will be weddings, there will be drama and most of the MAFS 2024 participant’s Instagram followings will see a steep rise.

This year’s contestants haven’t seen the growth previous years have, – for example, Evelyn Ellis from season nine had 65,000 followers before entering the experiment and now a year post MAFS sits at 454,000.

However, now the experiment is officially over, there are a few standout brides and grooms who have been racking up the followers. Lucinda Light is the clear winner, with a 6500+% growth, and Lauren Dunn is doing well with a 2200% growth.

Because of this exponential growth, it’s interesting to see just what the latest brides and grooms started with in week one, and how their following has grown along the way.

We finally know what the hell went down with Tim and Sara after the MAFS Reunion

Tim Calwell and Sara Mesa (somehow) made it out of Final Vows as a couple, but they didn’t make it much further!

While the fact that Tim and Sara broke up after Final Vows has been one of MAFS worst kept secrets, we haven’t actually known what happened… until now.

“We broke up a month after the Reunion,” Sara told 9Entertainment.

Tim and Sara and the MAFS Reunion Dinner Party. Nine.

“We didn’t speak for a little while after, it was hard for us both but a few months down the track we started talking again.

“We’re definitely friends now, we are very amicable. It’s been good to be on good terms because we went through this crazy ride together.”

Sara explained the reason behind her and Tim’s break up in more detail to The Wash.

“We FaceTimed everyday,” she began. “We had plans to see each other and then I heard from Jade that Tim was again going around saying some not so positive things about me and our relationship.

“I decided I wasn’t going to put up with it anymore. He chose to forgive me and move on with me. He said he was happy to be with me and saw a future together but then he was saying different things to other people.”

Tim and Sara pairing

Tim decided to join Married At First Sight after discovering his most recent girlfriend was unfaithful to him.

He’s scrubbed all evidence of her from his social media and is hoping to find true love with the woman he marries on MAFS.

According to his MAFS bio, Tim’s ideal companion is funny, emotionally stable and a great conversationalist who exudes feminine energy.

Sara was born and raised in Colombia but moved to Canada as a young child and has been living in Australia for the past eight years.

According to her Channel Nine bio, the MAFS bride is hoping to be matched with a “confident guy with good conversation, who can match her energy.”

MAFS. Nine.

Are Tim and Sara still together?

In a surprise to absolutely no one, Tim and Sara aren’t still together.

Tim was pictured out and about in Queensland with a brunette named Barbara.

The photos, which were published by Daily Mail Australia, show Tim and Barbara on a cute day out shopping for plants together. In one of the pics, Tim ironically looks over Barbara’s shoulder at her phone, and it another she plants a kiss on his cheek.

However, it appears that Tim and Sara are still on good terms. They were recently spotted out on a date night in Sydney’s Double Bay. While Sara lives in Sydney, Tim’s based in Queensland, which begs the question of what he was doing in NSW?

You can see those pics here.
