Survivor’s Zara didn’t want Laura’s Tribe Swap advantage: ‘Stick with what we had planned’

One of the most divisive moves of Australian Survivor 2025 so far happened during the March 10 episode, when Zara Callianiotis pressured Laura Darras to reveal her Tribe Swap advantage and then reaped the benefits by joining the new Brawn tribe.

Shortly before the new Brains tribe headed to face Jonathan LaPaglia at Tribal, Laura found an advantage that revealed whoever was voted out that night wouldn’t be eliminated but instead sent to the other team.

Laura had also formed a new alliance with Zara and OG brawn members Kate Gloufchis and Morgan McLeod called Girls Gone Wild, and they had a secret plan to target Jesse Noonan. However, with the new twist in play, Laura wanted to be voted out so that she could join OG Brains players who she’d formed strong connections with.

What ensued was chaos, with Laura first revealing the advantage to Zara and then telling the whole new Brains team about it at Tribal, after Zara told her she’d be “deserting her like a rat” if she left.

THEN, Zara spun the votes in her favour and flounced off to the new Brawn tribe, leaving a very bitter-looking Laura behind. However, despite heading back to some of her strongest connections, like Karin Gunatilake and Alexander “AJ” Antonios, Zara said she didn’t want Laura to reveal the advantage at all.

Laura when she found out Zara was being sent to the other Australian Survivor tribe.

“My original thought when we found that clue was, let’s stick with what we had planned. Let’s send Jesse over there because the next morning, when we all go out onto the mat, all the old Brawn will see each other, and it would be pretty evident that people had flipped,” she told Chattr.

Zara added that she thought by keeping the advantage a secret and staying with the plan of voting for Jesse, she and Laura would be able to test out their Girls Gone Wild alliance and see if Kate and Morgan unheld their end without any consequences.

Does Zara feel bad about leaving Laura behind?

Zara told Chattr that she was fairly certain that the new Brains tribe would choose to send her to the new Brawn tribe, once the advantage was revealed.

“I had actually built really great relationships with the guys over there, with PD [Paul Dee], Ben Bylett and Jesse, and I knew that Myles [Kuah] being in my alliance of The Graduates, he would want to send me back to our other people.

“So once I knew that it was going to be a pitch between Laura and I had a feeling it was going to be me going,” she explained.

Zara thought Laura would understand the move and wanted to continue working with her once they made Merge.

“It was going to be a roll of the dice to try and get Laura back on my side after that happened. I think that you have to look at it and think, would I do that to someone in my real life? Absolutely not. But, I think Survivor is every man for himself.”

“Every move that you make, you have to think about whether or not that’s going to get you further in the game. And basically, every move you make, you are burning some kind of bridge. So then you have to weigh up all of the options and work out if you’re going to be able to rebuild that bridge.”

Zara said she took into account that her bold move might annoy Laura’s close ally Logan Johannisen, who’s on the New Brawn tribe, but said that she had to do what was best for her own game.

“I definitely weighed up the option of whether or not Logan would be happy with me,” she explained.

“But, at that stage, I desperately wanted to get back over there to see what was going on with The Graduates. I could sense on the mat [at challenge], that AJ and Karin were having some conflicts, so I felt desperate to get back over there as quickly as possible to try and smooth that over before Merge came.”

Will Zara’s move pay off? Or will Logan and Laura turn on her? We can’t wait to find out!

Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MAFS’ Veronica reveals the real and heartbreaking reason behind connection with Dave

After another turbulent week of drama on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025, Veronica Cloherty has broken her silence about her connection with Dave Hand, after the two were paired together during the couple-swap week.

MAFS fans are adamant that Veronica and Dave had a romantic connection, and some have even accused the pair of cheating on their partners, Eliot Donovan and Jamie Marinos, something Dave has refuted. While Eliot has implied something may have happened between the pair on TikTok, Veronica has now spoken up about what really went down.

MAFS‘ Veronica addresses if she hooked up with Dave

Speaking to the MAFS Funny podcast, Veronica said she and Dave didn’t have a romantic connection and revealed that she’s been celibate for the last two years.

“I’ve actually been abstinent for two years, I think everyone’s looking for someone to blame, to be honest,” she said. “Dave and I have never even had those feelings towards each other. I think we both felt under a lot of pressure in our different relationships for different reasons.”

Veronica said it was nice to get along with Dave and have a laugh because her relationship with Eliot had been a “shitstorm” from day one.

MAFS’ Veronica reveals real reason why she and Dave connected

Elaborating on the connection she and Dave shared, Veronica said they bonded over both having sick parents, with Dave having already revealed in his first MAFS episode that his father has been battling cancer and couldn’t attend his wedding.

“It’s a bit more publicly known what’s going on with Dave’s dad, [but] my dad has had multiple strokes in the last year,” Veronica said. “The connection that everybody’s talking about is actually related to our parents, who are both really sick. I think it’s a bit more publicly known what’s going on with Dave’s dad, but I actually came into this with a similar story and background.

“Dave and I were actually able to sit down and talk about the loss of different parts of our fathers and how that was really taking a toll on us in the experiment. That was what that connection was, being able to confide in somebody who was going through a similar experience of grief and loss and just dealing with life.”

Veronica said she hadn’t been able to talk to Eliot about her dad, as the two were constantly arguing.

“Unfortunately, it wasn’t something I was able to talk to Eliot about, so really that connection point with Dave and I was that we were able to be vulnerable with our feelings and really talk about how the experiment affected how we were feeling about being away.”

MAFS’ Veronica expresses surprise as Dave and Jamie’s relationship takes a hit

Veronica said she was surprised things soured with Jamie and Dave after Feedback Week, because she saw them as the “goals” of what everyone wanted to find within the experiment.

“At the end of the day it’s a TV show and we are all active participants in that, but that doesn’t negate from the fact we’re all human beings and it does take its toll,” she said of the rumours of her and Dave.

“Realistically, people don’t know the truth or anything about you. For myself specifically, I don’t think my side of the story has been shown, they’ve shown me at absolute breaking point in every aspect of the show, so like, ‘hi guys this is me at my worst!’ It can only get better from here!”

A source also told Yahoo Lifestyle that Veronica had been “cut off” from doing media at Channel Nine after she complained to the network about her real storyline with Dave being cut from TV.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Australian Survivor’s Logan wants to be recognised for her own game: ‘I’m not Shonee’

The striking similarities between Australian Survivor 2025‘s Logan Johannisen and former contestant Shonee Bowtell have led to ongoing fan comparisons and even a later-season placement by casting.

However, Logan has told Chattr that while she’s flattered by the comparison, she wants to be recognised for playing her own game.

Shonee first appeared in the 2018 Champions V Contenders season of Australian Survivor and went on to compete on All Stars and Heroes v Villains. She will return again later this year for Survivor: Australia v The World.

Logan told Chattr that producers were initially interested in casting her in 2018 but decided against it.

“They told me that I was a bit too similar archetype to Shonee on that first Champions versus Contenders season.”

Shonee and Logan are similar in age and undoubtedly have strong social skills. Not to mention, back in 2018, they both had professional athletes as partners—Logan is now married to AFL player Jason Johannisen, who she’s been with for eight years, and Shonee split from her pro-skater husband Benny Fairfax in 2021.

But the Brains v Brawn II player said that while she’s flattered to be compared to Shonee, who holds the record for most days lasted of any contestant in Australian Survivor, she wants to create her own legacy.

“It is such a compliment because Shonee was an incredible game player. She’s been called back for four seasons. You don’t get called back for four seasons without being a fan favourite and really, really good at the game.

“But I’m not Shonee. I’m Logan. So it’s really frustrating at times to not be seen as your own person, especially when we’re playing very different games.

“We both have very big social personalities, and we were both quite strategic at the game, but we have a completely different approach, so whilst it’s a huge compliment, I would really love to be just seen as myself.”

How Logan thinks her Survivor gameplay differs from Shonee’s

Like Shonee, Logan has won over most of her teammates (aside from AJ) with her charming personality and strong social game.

However, Logan pointed out that there are plenty of differences between her and Shonee’s Survivor strategies.

“I think I’m a bit harsher, to be completely honest,” Logan laughed.

“I think Shonee is mostly really sweet. Well, she came across as really sweet to everyone, whereas I didn’t really mind if I had to burn some bridges, and I was willing to get my hands a bit dirtier.

“I was really a bit more forthcoming with my opinion in front of everyone, and I loved a good debate out there. So I think the sassiness, we really have that in common. But I think I’m a tad harsher than Shonee.”

Why Logan’s happy that she was pushed to a later season of Survivor

Although Logan missed out on being cast on Survivor 2018 because of the likeness between the two women, she told Chattr she’s glad she didn’t play when she was 21.

“I don’t think I was mentally ready at all,” the 28-year-old explained. “I told them that in my next chats over the years, I didn’t think I was ready at the time, and I’m glad I didn’t go on then because it is so mentally tough. It’s challenging.”

Logan said that while she was with her now-husband when she first applied for the show, the couple hadn’t had kids yet. She explained that she drew strength during the gruelling Australian Survivor 2025 challenges when she thought of her daughter Lola and son Ziggy.

Logan with her husband Jason and kids Lola and Ziggy.

“The hard challenges, like when you’re standing on pegs that are about to push through the soles of your feet, so when you go to your happy place, you’re really picturing your family and everything that makes you strong. And I’m not sure that mentally I was there yet when I was a bit younger.”

Like Logan, Shonee is now a mum, too; she gave birth to her son, Vally, in December 2023. Could we see Vally and Ziggy in a future Survivor season? One can dream!

Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.

From villain to ‘people’s princess’: How MAFS’ Eliot got the redemption arc no one expected

If there’s one thing we can safely say about Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 it’s that the show is constantly keeping us on our toes when it comes to who falls into the hero or villain category of this season.

With early ‘villains’ starting to win over fans, and loved contestants starting to face backlash over certain behaviours depicted on screen, this season of MAFS isn’t as clear-cut as other seasons when it comes to who Australia is backing.

Take Eliot Donovan, for example: when the 35-year-old was first introduced to MAFS fans, he wasn’t well-received due to his extensive list of requirements of what he wanted in a partner, including someone who was under 30 and who wasn’t a career woman. Many fans sympathised with his bride Lauren Hall after the two fell out during their honeymoons and Eliot took off, never to be seen again.

Or so we thought.

When Eliot returned for his intruder wedding and second attempt on the show, he came back a “changed” man. He was seemingly ready to give things a crack with Veronica Cloherty, and had thrown away his outdated list. Lauren also returned but didn’t win fans (or the group) over with her abrasive nature, snide comments, and seemingly snobby attitude, with many saying they understood why Eliot had walked out.

Veronica and Eliot started out strong. Image: Nine

Then, with Eliot and Veronica clashing in some heated arguments including one where Veronica told Eliot to not raise his voice at her (after he had seemingly been talking in a normal tone to her the whole time) fans started to rally around Eliot.

MAFS cast are rewriting their narrative using TikTok and fans are now apologising to Eliot Donovan

It’s no secret that usually MAFS participants don’t have control over their social media account until well after the show finishes, so they can’t just be jumping on Instagram to unpack their edit as the episodes air and tell their side of the story.

This year’s cast however has found aways around this, with many using business accounts, other private accounts, or starting brand new TikTok accounts to defy the strict rules. Jacqui Burfoot has been busy debunking things as they air, Dave Hand has been keeping fans thirsty over on his business TikTok (until this week’s edit of him anyway), and now Eliot and Adrian Araouzou are using TikTok to poke fun at their own storylines.

Eliot, in particular, has won over a new legion of fans as he paints himself in a jovial light on the app while poking fun at his failed relationships and taking the time to reply to many comments. His tongue-in-cheek TikToks have people commenting things like “we all owe you an apology,” and “my favourite thing is you being THE most hated person at the start of the season to now the least problematic out of the entire cast.”

@not_eliotd Replying to @.. What they didn’t show on TV… #mafs #mafsau #marriedatfirstsight #marriedatfirstsightaustrailia ♬ original sound – Eliot Donovan

MAFS fans have even started labelling Eliot the “people’s princess” and saying he’s the “next favourite contestant after Jamie.”

If MAFS fans are learning from the edit, should they then be going easier on the new ‘villians’?

As Eliot reworks his edit by using TikTok and basks in the change of heart from MAFS fans, the wrath once saved for him has turned onto the women he was matched with, as well as new “villains” like Dave, Paul Antoine, and Carina Mirable.

“Dude, I LOATHED you the first episodes and now I’m like….that freakin show tricked us! Sorry…” one person apologised to Eliot, with the MAFS star saying, “As long as you love me now.”

The irony, however, is that if Eliot’s initial edit was so inaccurate and fooled so many fans, then should people be wary of coming after the new “villains”? Why are people now tearing down Veronica, David, and more as their storylines propel them into villain territory without taking into account that the show is making us believe a certain, dramatised narrative about them too?

MAFS’ Eliot Vs. Veronica

Many of Eliot’s TikToks are now fuelling the fire behind the growing dislike for Veronica, as he uses their storyline to win over new fans while using her voice, quotes, and issues with him as fodder.

Eliot has even taken to the app to heavily imply in a “joking” way that something did happen between Veronica and Dave during Feedback Week, something Dave and Jamie Marinos have both gone on record to deny.

@not_eliotd I’m gonna go get that hot sauce 🌶️ #mafs #mafsau #marriedatfirstsight #fyp ♬ original sound – Eliot Donovan

While Eliot and Veronica were clearly not well-matched and while Veronica’s reactions to Eliot may seem disproportionate, it can’t be dismissed that we’re not seeing the whole storyline here, just like we perhaps didn’t see the whole storyline with Eliot and Lauren at the very start when he was painted in a negative light.

@not_eliotd It’s a full time job. 👷🏻‍♂️#mafs #mafsau #marriedatfirstsight #fyp ♬ Hard Work – U.S. Drill Sergeant Field Recordings

The person you’d think would be the most understanding or perhaps sympathetic to a bad edit and the intense wave of hatred that can come from fans would be Eliot himself. But now the heat is off him and he’s been able to rework the narrative in his favour, it can’t be ignored that he’s now leveraged other people’s villain edits to get out of his own. And that’s not exactly something that should be praised.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Who is the host of The Golden Bachelor Australia?

Former Sunrise host Samantha Armytage will take the reigns as host of The Golden Bachelor Australia.

“I think you’re all going to love this. It’s love for the golden ages,” Samantha said in a video interview with 9Entertainment.

“When I got the call to join the show, I didn’t hesitate. [The Golden Bachelor] has been huge in America, and I have a feeling it’s gonna be huge in Australia, too.”

What is The Golden Bachelor about?

The show first launched in America in 2023, and 72-year-old Gerry Turner, a retired restaurateur and widower, was the suitor. He gave his final rose to Theresa Nist, and the couple got married shortly after but have since split.

The premise was the same as the original The Bachelor series. However, the contestants’ ages spanned from 60 to 75 years old instead.

ABC renewed the show for another American spin-off called The Golden Bachelorette and 61-year-old Joan Vassos was the lead. She got engaged to Chock Chapple, and the couple are still together.

MAFS’ Dave explains his sus bedroom comment and debunks dating rumour

Dave Hand has given an interview that has shed some light on his tumultuous Feedback Week on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025, after the groom suffered the wrath of fans following his cold disposition towards his wife Jamie Marinos.

Dave and Jamie were previously one of the strongest couples, but their relationship has been rocked by Feedback Week after Jamie asked her partner-swap Adrian Araouzou why he thinks she and Dave are lacking intimacy, with Adrian alluding that Dave may not be attracted to Jamie.

Dave, who was partnered with Veronica Cloherty, was shown in scenes laughing and enjoying himself during the partner swap. This raised alarm bells for fans after he seemed sullen and distant on the couch with Jamie during the last commitment ceremony.

Did something happen between MAFS’ Dave and Veronica?

One scene that raised suspicions was when Dave and Veronica were filmed waking up in the same bed, with Dave remarking to the camera crew, “Gotta be quicker than that around here, boys!”

Many fans took this to mean that perhaps Dave and Veronica had been fooling around, with one fan commenting, “Why would Dave even make that comment to begin with? Who says that?” and another saying, “Her jumping up and his hand coming from under HER blanket!”

Dave has now spoken to a radio show saying the scene wasn’t as it appeared.

“It was more the fact they bust in there and they try to get you sleeping, or just as you wake up,” Dave said about his rogue comment. “Just to be clear, nothing happened. Veronica and I had a connection, we got along and that was it, and TV twisted it… but that’s great.”

Is Dave now dating Carina Mirable?

Fans are now sadly accepting that Dave and Jamie may not work out, but that hasn’t stopped more rumours. Dave addressed a new allegation involving Carina Mirable, with recent speculation that the two are more than just friends.

When asked whether he and Carina have started dating post-show, Dave had this to say: “No, there’s zero weight to that.”

Well, there ya have it!

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MAFS fans stitch Dave up on Cameo with controversial video

Dave Hand went from everyone’s favourite Married at First Sight 2025 (MAFS) groom to breaking the collective hearts of many Aussies this week, as his relationship with Jamie Marinos crumbled before our eyes.

The TL;DR of the situation is that Jamie has declared her love for her husband, but he hasn’t returned the words yet. Add in a couples swap week where  Adrian Araouzou got into Jamie’s ear about Dave maybe not being attracted to her, a storyline that alluded to Dave and Veronica Cloherty flirting, and an explosive dinner party that left Jamie in tears questioning their relationship while Dave came across cold and distant, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

MAFS stars taking to Cameo

Even though the season hasn’t ended yet, this year’s MAFS participants have already started jumping on video platform Cameo to earn a quick buck, with Dave the first to start charging fans $72 for a video of him wishing them a happy birthday, giving them a pep talk, or joke-roasting them. He currently has a 5-star rating, with 14 happy customers leaving rave reviews, with one person saying their daughter was so thrilled with Dave’s video that it “made her cry”.

However one Cameo of Dave’s has started gaining traction on TikTok for all the wrong reasons, with someone appearing to have stitched the MAFS groom up with their request.

MAFS’ Dave stitched up in cameo about P-Diddy

A TikTok account with quite the telling username – @burnerburner63 – recently posted a Cameo from Dave where he appears to send his love to controversial rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who has faced repeated accusations of sexual misconduct for incidents dating from 1990 to 2023.

One of the accusations comes from the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie, who alleged she was the victim of a pattern of “abuse, violence, and sex trafficking” with a confronting video coming to light last year that shows Diddy physically assaulting Cassie in 2016.

In Dave’s Cameo, he makes reference to both “Puffy” (one of Diddy’s previous monikers) and a “Cassie”.

“Hey Puffy, you’re a bit lonely at the moment? Look brother, just reach out to your friends and family, I’m sure they’ll be able to help ya,” Dave starts the video. “As for your ex, Cassie, I think… I’m sure she’ll forgive you for anything that’s caused this breakup, just reach out to her and let her know how much you love her and that you’re sorry, you’re going to be OK, mate.”

“Is this AI, cause whaaat?” one confused fan commented. “There’s no way,” another shocked person said, with someone else writing, “This is something else…”.

Others were quick to point out what likely happened. “[It’s] Cameo unfortunately he didn’t catch on to the prank I guess someone sends in a request for a video and pays him,” one person pointed out.

“It’s a Cameo, he’s obviously making a video for whoever paid for it, someone’s probs pranked him,” another agreed.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

All of the established Australian Survivor 2025 alliances formed so far

Australian Survivor is a game of strategy. The cast must form strong relationships — otherwise known as alliances — to ensure they won’t be voted off by their fellow castaways at Tribal Council.

To do this, the contestants form (usually secret) alliances, essentially teams that protect each other and vote together to eliminate their competitors.

While these groups of people often form and adapt throughout the season, Episode 1 saw a strong all-women alliance formed on the Brains team.

Here’s every established alliance — with an official name — that’s been formed on Australian Survivor so far.

Girl’s Gone Wild

Laura, Kate, Morgan and Zara establishing Girls Gone Wild. Image: Ten.

After the new Brains Tribe formed, Zara, Laura, Morgan and Kate formed an alliance named Girl’s Gone Wild and their aim was to take out the men on their tribe. However, the first step of that plan fell through when their Tribal Council visit was actually a Tribe Swap, rather than an elimination.

After Laura found an advantage that revealed the upcoming Tribal was a swap, she told the group, and Zara was sent to the new Brawn tribe.

Hunkz

A fake tattoo for the Hunkz posted to Survivor’s Instagram page. Image: Instagram

An all-male alliance was formed between Myles, Jesse, Ben, and PD called the Hunkz. However, Myles admitted in a producer-led interview that he wasn’t 100% into the alliance but instead using it as a cover-up. Meanwhile, Ben has since left Survivor, so the Hunkz longevity doesn’t look promising.

The Coven

The Coven was the first official alliance, which was formed in Episode 1 on the Brains tribe. It originally consisted of Karin, Laura, Logan and Zara, with Ally joining shortly after.

The VB’s

The VB was another Brains tribe formed shortly after The Coven. Laura and Logan were keen to start another alliance outside of their all-female one. However, Rich blew up the trio’s secret at Tribal, and Logan started gunning for him shortly after.

The Graduates

Karim, AJ and Myles are in one of the survivor alliances called The Graduates.

The Graduates have yet to take action together. However, Karin, Kaelen, Zara, AJ and Myles have been in extensive talks about working together.

The Bombsquad

Kaelen and Max are in one of the Australian Survivor alliances called The Bombsquad.

The Bombsquad is the all-male alliance that’s been formed on the Brains side. After Rich found out about the Coven, he hustled to form a team with Myles, Max, Rich, Kaelen and AJ.

However, now that Rich has been sent to the Brawn tribe, will the male team be able to survive without their leader?

Clearly, it’s time for the Brawn tribe to start using their brains and form some established alliances.

Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.

Bony Onyango has been making a buzz on Australian Idol 2025 from the moment he stepped into the auditions. His live autotune rendition of Girls by The Kid LAROI left the judges divided.

While he didn’t secure a Golden Ticket straight away, judge Kyle Sandilands saw his potential and brought him back, giving him a second chance in the Top 30… or, Top 31.

Now, Bony is in the Top 10, proving he’s got something special.

What’s the story behind the 25-year-old? Here’s everything we know about Australian Idol’s Bony.

Australian Idol’s Bony grew up in a refugee camp

Bony’s journey to the Australian Idol stage started from very humble beginnings. Originally from Kenya, he spent the first six years of his life in a refugee camp before moving to Brisbane.

“I grew up in Kenya — in a refugee camp there — up until I was six years old,” Bony revealed during his audition.

“Mama would have to walk kilometres, sometimes with me on her back, just to get water. So part of what I’m doing is somewhat of an inspiration for Mum.” How sweet is that?

He works as a traffic controller by day

By day, Bony is out on the roads, directing traffic. But even then, he’s never too far from his true calling.

“As a traffic controller, I work long days, but I sing all the time. For real, I’m always, constantly singing.”

Bony sees every shift as an opportunity to practice.

“It’s a good way to rehearse. Like why not? Even if you sound bad, you’ll eventually sound good… hopefully!” he joked.

He’s already released a single

If you need more proof that Bony vocal chops are the real deal, check out his EP It Is What It Is, which dropped in December 2024.

And for those still doubting, he even gave fans an a cappella performance on TikTok — no autotune in sight!

He’s come this far. Can Bony take it all the way to the finish line on Australian Idol? We’ll have to wait and see!

Check out Australian Idol 2025’s Hannah Waddell as a young star in this online series

Turns out Australian Idol 2025 isn’t Hannah Waddell’s first brush with the spotlight!

The 25-year-old Perth powerhouse has been bringing the good vibes ever since she auditioned with Gloria Gaynor’s Never Can Say Goodbye. Now she’s well into the Top 10 and we can’t get enough!

“My love for old-school funk and disco comes from all the vinyls I’d go through with my parents,” she shared during her Idol Audition.

“That driving rhythm just gets you going.”

But what else do we know about this funky songstress? Here’s more about Australian Idol‘s Hannah.

Before Australian Idol, Hannah got a taste of fame in The ShareSpace

Before Idol, Hannah was already making a splash in the music scene.

Back in 2017, she was part of The ShareSpace, a Sony Music Australia project that put eight artists together for 30 days to create, collaborate, and release music.

Hosted by Alli Simpson and Jai Waetford, the series gave aspiring musicians a chance to shine. And while Hannah didn’t take home the win, she left with a whole new perspective on her music career.

“Thank you for believing in me,” she wrote in an Instagram post at the time.

“I walked into this project as a young, scared teen and now I’m walking out as a confident woman and more dedicated and passionate for my music than ever before!”

Check out baby Hannah on The ShareSpace here:

By night, she’s a bartender… But hopefully not for long!

Hannah’s been singing disco while slinging drinks, but she’s ready to swap the bar for the big stage.

“Bartending — it’s fun, but I’ve done it for too long. It’s time I hang up the apron,” she said in her Australian Idol intro.

“I’m ready to pour my last pint and pour my heart into singing.”

She’s no stranger to the stage

While she doesn’t hit up the busking scene, like fellow Perth Australian Idol contender John Van Beek, Hannah has been flexing her vocal chops at local Perth hot spots, like El Grotto and the Scarbs Beach Party.

She’s already dropped a single

Not just a cover queen, Hannah released her own track, Red Light, in December 2022, and it’s the dance-floor bop we hoped it would be.

Will Hannah take home the Idol crown and bring disco back in a big way? We can’t wait to find out!

MAFS 2025’s Jacqui has released her full Feedback Week letter to Ryan and it’s brutal

It was Feedback Week on Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2025, and naturally, Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly found a way to give us whiplash, with Jacqui penning an absolutely brutal feedback letter to her husband.

Lucky for us, in true Jacqui fashion, she went completely rogue and dropped nearly the entire Feedback Week letter to Ryan on social media. And it’s a lot.

In the Insta post, Jacqui claimed she only had 10 minutes to write the letter, but wasted no time in compiling what her partner-swap husband Jeff Gobbels pretty aptly described as “two and a half pages of negative stuff about the relationship.”

While some of the text was crossed out (which is no fun), the remaining Feedback Week letter paints a rather *concerning* picture for Jacqui and Ryan.

What does Jacqui’s Feedback Week letter say?

Let’s start with the good because, yes, surprisingly there was some.

“Dear Ryan,

“The good. I love how much fun we can have even after an issue is solved,” Jacqui’s letter to Ryan begins.

“We may move forward at different paces, but you balance me out and take things slower at times. I love taking photos with you, videos, reading tarot, creating content, and dancing/being a goofball. You don’t judge and don’t take yourself too seriously either. I couldn’t dream of a better content partner.”

“Our shared entertainment interests are a match made in heaven. You take an interest in my love of fashion and let me help dress you. We both put in our 100% effort, are genuine, and have more resilience than 10 ordinary people. You make me smile a lot and genuinely want to make me happy. Your heart tries its best.”

Sweet, right? Well, that’s where the niceties end.

A tense moment as Jacqui from MAFS 2025 listens intently during a conversation
Jacqui. Image: Nine

The *Concerns*

Jacqui’s seemingly unending list of “concerns” is where things really take a turn.

She starts off with money woes:

“Ryan, I am concerned that you don’t have a stable and predictable career. I am concerned that you financially contribute less and I will be the primary breadwinner, putting you in a place you don’t want to be — the primary caregiver.”

She also has strong feelings about Ryan’s masculinity complex:

“I am concerned you have built your sense of self on top of outdated beliefs about power and masculinity. Your extreme sense of masculine pride and fragile ego are difficult to deal with and come at my expense. When your ego or masculinity dominance is challenged, you overreact, escalate conflict, and create chaos that deflects from the original nerve hit.” Oof.

But it doesn’t stop there!

Ryan from MAFS 2025 appears calm and confident, sporting a slight smile as he engages in conversation
Ryan. Image: Nine

Jacqui accuses Ryan of using her as a “punching bag” whenever his dominance is questioned. She also calls out his rigid views on gender roles and “problematic” beliefs about stay-at-home dads.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get more brutal:

“I still haven’t seen any critical thinking skills from you. I need you to always be open to questioning your own beliefs and start with the assumption you aren’t and nobody is perfect. We have 50 years plus to learn and get things right, and even then, we can die still being unsure. My biggest love fear is marrying a man that ends up stubborn and stuck in his own ways as the world moves on.”

She also hits him with this line, which is honestly hilarious:

“Your opinions might be wrong and that’s okay — in fact, a lot of yours need some more work.”

But wait, there’s more!

In the post, Jacqui teased that she’ll be uploading a video of herself reading it out loud in case anyone can’t read her handwriting.

Meanwhile, Ryan didn’t take the criticism lightly, firing back in the episode: “I will never be a stay-at-home dad. It’s insulting for you to think you’d even consider that.”

Apparently, he “want[s] to leave a legacy.”

Okay, Ryan, best of luck with that. And best of luck to both of them, because it sure looks like they’re going to need it!

MAFS 2025 Episode 28 Recap: Jamie’s world implodes

Jamie walks in alone after Dave tells her his feelings aren’t progressing in their relationship.

Watching Jamie talk to herself while she waits for the others to arrive is giving Big Brother first-housemate energy.

I can’t believe this is Dreamworld! Image: Nine.

Before Dave arrives, Jamie tells Awhina, Adrian, Rhi, and Jeff that he doesn’t initiate sex with her, something he didn’t like when she shared it with Adrian and something I’m sure he wouldn’t appreciate now.

Dave looks shocked as the experts watch the MAFS dinner party.
Oh no you didn’t gf!!!! Image: Nine.

Carina pulls Awhina to the side to apologise for calling her sister, Cleo, low-calibre after finding out Paul slept with her. Awhina accepts it as an insecure and jealous comment, but Carina wants Paul to take accountability for sharing what was obviously said in the vault.

He doesn’t think he did anything wrong, and it’s a good thing I’m not dating him because I say some shit to my partner that should never see the light of day. We all do.

Paul and Carina argue during the MAFS dinner party.
I didn’t understand the meaning of snob, calibre or vault, sorry. Image: Nine.

Jacqui thinks she and Ryan are a role model couple for the rest of the group, which is wildly worrying. Jeff brings up the letter, and you know what? I’m pissed off Jacqui ruined this entire season with her endless rogue Instagram Stories because I actually would be invested in her and Ryan’s relationship (for all the wrong reasons).

Jacqui doing a MAFS voxie.
She’s a show ruiner. She ruins people’s shows.

That’s OK, because no matter what, we will always have Jeff’s laugh.

Jamie tells the table about where she and Dave are falling apart. She says some very movie-worthy, profound things, which is exactly what I’d do and exactly why I can’t be on this show. It feels so put-on and overly dramatic, sorry.

Do non-actors speak like this? Image: Nine.

Jamie is interrogating Dave about the sudden realisation of his non-existent feelings. However, he says he’s spoken about these feelings on the couch. She slams the table (that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but the table is touched with both hands) and starts pointing again. That wasn’t a good idea last time, and it won’t be this time.

Jamie listens to Dave at the MAFS dinner party.
Everyone, remain calm. Image: Nine.

Now she has moved on from the anger stage of grief and is crying. Why is someone not liking you the way you like them such a fucking blow? Never gets easier IMO.

WAAAAAA. ImageL Nine.

Adrian asks whether spending time with Veronica has prompted this realisation, because he is a shit stirrer, but Dave rejects the idea.

Eliot chimes in with how Veronica said her connection with Dave was way better than her one with Eliot.

Veronica says that’s only because Dave looked at her with his eyeballs.

Anyway, apparently Dave is really keen on the relationship with Jamie working, but she’ll require him to pull his finger out of his asshole first.

MAFS star Domenica Calarco announces she’s pregnant!

Married at First Sight (MAFS) star Domenica Calarco has dropped some major news — she’s pregnant, and expecting her first child!

Domenica, who appeared on the 2022 season of MAFS, took to socials on Wednesday 12 March to spill the exciting news. Here’s everything we know so far!

Domenica Calarco shares her pregnancy update

Domenica shared the news with her followers with an adorable video montage, sharing snapshots of her pregnancy journey.

The video featured a sonogram, the emotional moment she found out she was expecting, and heartwarming reactions from her family and friends, all set to But Daddy I Love Him by Taylor Swift. Aw!

“Been a little MIA working on my greatest project yet…..Baby” she wrote, revealing that the bub is due on September 2025.

Domenica hints at breakup, says she’ll be “co-parenting”

Domenica recently addressed speculation about her relationship status in an Instagram story where she noted that she’ll be “welcoming this baby as a solo parent”.

“I am grateful to have the support of the father in a co-parenting capacity,” she added.

None of Domenica’s social posts so far have directly mentioned her most recent boyfriend, Jarod Bogunovich, so while many might assume he’s the father, there’s no official confirmation yet.

Rumours of their split surfaced last week after a TikTok comment hinted that she and Jarod may have called it quits.

Designer and influencer Sasha Morpeth posted a TikTok with the caption, “Reconnecting with nature because I hard launched a guy and it was over before the IG story expired”. Domenica recently commented on it, saying, “Join the club babes, argh.”

Domenica and Jarod hard-launched their romance back in September 2024, as Domenica introduced Jarod to the world with a sweet Insta post captioned, “Bit of life #updates.”

The carousel included a loved-up snap of the couple plus a cheeky hint — a skateboard and two pairs of feet, with one rocking checkered Vans.

Earlier that month, Domenica had posted a TikTok mentioning she got a pair of checkered Vans from a “fuck buddy”. Turns out that buddy was something a little more serious!

Fast forward to a month later, and Jarod took things to the next level by getting a tattoo dedicated to Domenica — a champagne bottle with the name ‘Dom’ on it, also like the luxury French champagne Dom Pérignon. Clever.

The ink might be small, but the message was loud and clear at the time. But, hey, things change.

@domenica.calarco @FUNDAY Natural Sweets always a packet in the Prada 😎 #snack #funny ♬ I got a plan – kardashianicon

Baby daddy aside, the exciting news comes after a tough time for the MAFS alum last year, which saw her cancelling her podcast and going through a high-profile fallout with former bestie Ella Ding.

But now, things are looking up, and 2025 is shaping up to be her biggest year yet!

Congrats Domenica!

A former MAFS bride claims she had a one-night stand with Paul

Vanessa Romito, a bride on Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2020, claimed she had a “one-night stand” with 2025 groom Paul Antoine and didn’t speak favourably of the experience.

“I had a one-night stand with Paul,” Vanessa exclusively revealed to Chattr.

Vanessa Romito’s date with Paul Antoine

Vanessa told Chattr that she met Paul on a night out.

“Paul was literally a one-night stand on Halloween that I never wanted to speak to again.”

“He was full of himself. The next morning, he was like, ‘I’ll call you,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, I’d rather you don’t.'”

Vanessa added that when she saw Paul out after the hook-up, “he would just stand there talking to his friends in French about me.”

What Vanessa thinks of Paul being cast on MAFS 2025

Vanessa said that she wasn’t surprised to hear that her past flame had been cast on MAFS 2025.

“I can’t even speak for the women; they [producers], literally, just find the worst men,” she said.

“[Paul’s] not a bad-looking person. Of course he’s going to get female viewers.”

MAFS 2020 participants Vanessa and Chris.

It’s not the first time Paul’s personal life has had a MAFS crossover, either.

At his own MAFS wedding, it was revealed that Carina Mirable and Paul had been on a date before the show, but he’d ghosted her.

Then, in a recent episode, it was also revealed that Paul had a situationship with Awhina’s twin sister, Cleo, before starring on the show.

Cleo told Chattr that she and Paul are on good terms and “still close with one another’s friends to this day”.

MAFS spoiler: Jamie hints at Homestays blow up with Dave

With Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 Homestays Week just around the corner, we’ve been wondering what kind of dramatic events are going to take place.

Dave Hand and Jamie Marinos has teased that their time spent with family will be interesting, especially with how their relationship has been progressing on screen.

The couple are firmly on the rocks, with the pair’s connection disintegrating after the partner swap task. They choose to enter the Dinner Party separately, with Jamie calling out Dave’s behaviour and breaking down into tears.

Jamie hints at some drama going down between Dave and her sister, without spoiling too much.

“[Dave’s] got my sister to deal with,” she laughs. “People think I’m bad. My sister’s way worse.

“I’m hurt. My sister’s hurt. We’re very protective of each other,” she adds. “At this point, she just wants to be [a] mother bear with her cub. That was the style, I think, that was going on.

“It’s going to be informative.”

Dave agrees, saying that Homestays was a “pivotal moment” for their relationship.

“We have to figure out a lot [at Homestays]. Like coming off what’s happened and then moving onto Homestays, it’s a very big task,” he says.

“We’re sort of figuring [it] out and getting the feels for what’s going to happen.”

Jamie explains controversial MAFS decision

There have been rumours about Final Task Week which takes place after Homestays, with one source telling Chattr that Jamie opts to meet an alternative match, but he ghosts her.

Jamie explains that she was “hurt” by what went down with Dave, which contributed to her making this choice.

“I wish I was in a better place before I made a decision,” she says. “I was dealing with a lot of hurt [and] rejection and kind of losing hope, and I wanted to be able to remind myself why I was partnered with Dave.”

“I was hoping to go into it and get that clarity and that encouragement… I didn’t go in with [the] intention of starting something with someone else. I was very clear in that, that’s not how I operate.”

This sounds like a wild challenge and it’s going to be interesting to watch it all play out on screen!

MAFS’ Dave slams ‘false’ FBoy Island and ex-fiancée rumours

Fans were disappointed when it was revealed that Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 groom Dave Hand originally applied to be on FBoy Island, meaning he was just after reality TV fame — not love.

However, Dave has told Chattr this isn’t true, so maybe we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

“I did not apply for FBoy Island, let me just say that,” he said.

When asked if he had been scouted for FBoy Island, he said “maybe,” which tells us all we need to know! Given his substantial social media presence, it’s possible he was also scouted for MAFS.

The Woman’s Day article which broke the story about FBoy Island also had some juicy quotes from a friend of Dave’s ex-fiancée Stephanie Jaksch, painting him out to be a bad guy.

“They split, and as we all find out, he went straight on to apply to go on reality TV,” the source claimed. “Applications for FBoy Island closed around the time of their split in November 2023.”

Okay, but would he be an FBoy or a Nice Guy? Image: Nine

Dave has hit back at those rumours, and told Chattr their source isn’t a friend of his ex.

“The timeframes, that article that sort of came out is false. And it’s not even from my ex-girlfriend. I’m just gonna say that,” he said.

“Not even [from] a friend of hers, it’s from someone who shouldn’t be commenting. The article is completely thrown out of context.”

He wouldn’t elaborate much more, but he did seem upset that his past relationship drama has been pulled into the spotlight.

“I actually feel sorry for my ex-girlfriend that she’s been dragged into this,” he added.

MAFS’ Jamie’s brutal Dave takedown: ‘My whole world was flipped upside down’

Fans will be rallying around Jamie Marinos tonight on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 when she enters the Dinner Party alone and breaks down in front of her castmates.

After her relationship with Dave Hand seemingly crumbled in front of our eyes, she tells Chattr it was incredibly hard to make it through the evening.

“I never thought I would be walking to the Dinner Party alone, when I say my whole world was flipped upside down, it truly was,” she says.

“I felt very uncomfortable for the first time in Dave’s presence. I’ve never felt that, Dave was my safe space [previously]. I felt like I was looking at someone who I didn’t know. And I think that’s what was concerning.”

MAFS 2025 Jamie Dave dinner party
Dave and Jamie look uneasy in the promo for tonight’s episode. Image: Nine

Jamie says she felt “led on” by Dave, because the pair had been discussing a future together at the family and friends meet and greet just a couple of weeks before.

“Every single member of production, every single person was blindsided. Nobody could make sense of what they were seeing, let alone what I was experiencing,” she adds.

“I went from someone who was talking about their soul smiles, and they have warm, fuzzy feelings, to almost like they just couldn’t stand me. And I think I haven’t really dealt with someone who shows avoidance tendencies [before],” Jamie says.

Jamie doesn’t know if her relationship with Dave will recover

During the partner swap where Jamie was paired with Adrian Araouzou, she realised that Dave might not be attracted to her.

“There were some revelations. I don’t think you’d ever be in a situation where you’d sleep with someone and then you think, are they attracted to me? But you forget you’ve been partnered with a stranger,” she says.

“I think all of these things started to dawn because he didn’t pick me. When have I ever been in a situation where I’m in a relationship with someone who hasn’t chosen me?”

MAFS 2025 Jamie Dave dinner party

At this point, she says it’s hard to see how their relationship can recover.

“I didn’t see how we were going to have a way forward, because I didn’t understand who Dave was — because he was showing me a very different person. And to me, that is concerning,” she admits.

“But then you look around the table, you see people like Jacqui [Burfoot] [and] Ryan [Donnelly], Adrian [and] Awhina [Rutene], who are powering through. It makes me feel like there’s some sort of hope.”

Fingers crossed Jamie and Dave manage to get over this pretty big hurdle!

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Ex-Bride Vanessa Romito calls for MAFS to be axed: ‘Take it off the fucking air’

Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) bride Vanessa Romito has called for the show to be taken off the air, amid investigations by NSW Police and Safework.

The investigations were raised after a confronting episode that showed MAFS 2025 participant Paul Antoine admitting to punching a wall after getting frustrated at his on-screen wife Carina Mirable.

MAFS 2020 bride Vanessa — who’s gone viral for her TikTok videos about the way she was treated while filming the show — told Chattr that filming the show was “the worst fucking time of my life”.

Vanessa doubled down that the show should be axed to protect contestants from “abusive” relationships.

Vanessa believes that producers purposely put participants in uncomfortable situations to generate drama

The former bride said that she believes producers actively search for “the worst men” to go on the show in the hope of generating drama and scandals.

“I think they find the men that are the most arrogant, egotistical and up themselves and think that they’re a really good person, and [they think] they’re going to manipulate the TV show, and everyone’s going to love them, and it’s going to get them heaps of girls and make them famous. That’s the guys that they literally scout for.

“Don’t get me wrong, there were a couple of nice people on my season, but a majority of them were fucked.”

Vanessa was paired with Chris Nicholls on her season of MAFS, and quit mid-way through. She remembered feeling uncomfortable when she had no female producers on her honeymoon.

“There’s no guarantee that you’re going to get a female producer,” she claimed. “I literally was on my honeymoon. I was by myself, all men, and they make you do bath scenes and shit like that.”

While Vanessa’s honeymoon appeared proactive to viewers, she told Chattr that it was “edited a lot” and she was “the only one who didn’t allow my husband to sleep in the same bed”.

Vanessa added that she requested to leave the show multiple times, and was offered a cheating storyline with one of the other Grooms.

“The producers asked me if I wanted to cheat with Dave or Josh because Dave and Josh both said that they fancied me more than they fancied their partner. And I was like, ‘No. I’d seriously I’d rather fucking go home,'” she alleged.

Why is Vanessa speaking out against MAFS now?

Vanessa told Chattr that she was “scared” to speak out against the reality show after her experience, but said seeing MAFS 2025’s Jacqui Burfoot‘s Instagram stories about the treatment of the participants encouraged her to use her platform.

“The only reason why I’m speaking out is because people are becoming so more vocal about it, and people are becoming more aware and stuff,” she began.

“[MAFS] is actually airing their own dirty laundry now, like with Paul hitting the wall. So, I feel like they’re digging their own grave, but I feel like they’re doing it just to push the boundaries because they know that they’re never going to get sued.

“So it’s like they’re laughing at every victim’s face. And I hate that.”

Vanessa said she and her fellow contestants were told that MAFS had been “signed up for seventeen seasons,” so she doesn’t think the show will be taken off air. However, she told Chattr that she believes the investigations should be taken seriously.

“They need to take it off the fucking air,” she said. “I do think that they need to be subpoenaed for their tapes.”
