The night Marlon Brando refused his Oscar for The Godfather in 1973

When Marlon Brando turned down his Oscar for Best Actor in The Godfather in 1973, it became one of the most memorable and awkward Oscars moments in history.

Brando, a celebrated actor of his time, sent Sacheen Littlefeather, an Apache activist and actress to the ceremony to reject his award accompanied by an outspoken statement.

His move shocked viewers worldwide – an open rejection of Hollywood’s high standards – becoming one of the most talked-about Academy Awards moments ever.

Offending people with his complex sentiments, Brando’s refusal to accept the Oscar made for a unique and unforgettable night for millions of film lovers everywhere.

John Travolta’s mangled pronunciation of Idina Menzel’s name during the 2014 ceremony

Without measure, one of the most awkward Oscars moments in history occurred when John Travolta butchered Idina Menzel’s name during the 2014 ceremony.

From “Adele Dazeem” to an almost unrecognisable pronunciation of her name made for a cringe-worthy introduction.

The 2000 Oscars were certainly made memorable by Angelina Jolie and her brother James Haven when the two shared a long and uncomfortable kiss on the lips that caused an immediate stir.

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announcing the wrong movie as Best Picture in 2017

Who could forget the iconic moment when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly announced La La Land as best picture instead of Moonlight in the 2017 Oscars?

Not only was it an embarrassing, cringe-worthy moment, but it also denied the cast and crew of Moonlight its rightful moment to bask in the glory.

As the celebrations on stage quickly turn to confusion, all viewers watching knew that something wasn’t quite right – yet despite this fact, no one could say anything to help fix the cultural faux pas!

The blunder was one of the most uncomfortable Oscars moments in history, providing a great source of entertainment for many years after.

When Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars

If the Oscars was expecting a host as witty and entertaining as Chris Rock in 2022, then they got more than they bargained for when Will Smith gave him a shock by slapping him on the face mid-show!

The audience erupted with screams, laughter and shock when Will walked onto the stage and hit the comedian after he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Given Smith and Rock are pros, fans were confused, with some thinking it was a bit to keep viewers engaged – however, we quickly learned it was real and will go down in history as one of the most controversial moments in Oscars history.

This You fan theory about Jonathan Moore and Rhys Montrose is absolutely wild

The tables were turned for Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) in season four (part one) of You, when after years of doing the stalking and killing, he was the one now being harassed.

In case you’re not all caught up: After relocating to London after murdering his ex-wife and bevvy of others, Joe found himself teaching at a British university. Changing his name to Jonathan Moore, he was determined to leave behind his killer ways.

Even though Joe was doing his darnedest to keep out of trouble — as it goes for him — death and destruction follows and another killer went on the loose, this time trying to frame him!

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers for season 4, part 1 of You

Obsessed with Joe’s past in the US, the “Eat the Rich Killer” surfaced, resolved to murdering everyone in Joe’s new found group of high-society elite — and threatened to only stop if Joe turned back the dark side.

After an Agathie Christie whodunnit and a game of cat and mouse, it turned out that author Rhys Montrose (Ed Speleers) was the killer.

Now, a TikToker NerdyBlonde12 has a theory about the novelist and she may just be on to something!

Rhys Montrose Fan Theory

Taking to the popular platform, the fan has a hypothesis that Rhys is actually a figment of Joe’s imagination, and that he’s actually been the one doing all the killing. What?!

Now — before we continue, it’s important to stress that Rhys is (or was?!) a real person, given that Joe is gifted a copy of his book by Nadia (Amy-Leigh Hickman) and that he delivered the eulogy at Simon’s (Aidan Cheng) funeral.

However, to back up theory, the TikToker said that the one in Joe’s head, is NOT real and here’s why.

  • Joe and Rhys connect on the fact that they both grew up in poverty and discuss their contempt for the rich who “dance when the world burns, barely noticing it’s even burning”.
  • Joe blacks out on absinthe and wakes to find Simon dead in his apartment and is also unconscious for the next two murders.
  • Joe has only ever spoken to Rhys when no one else is around — Sundry House, Simon’s art exhibit and on the balcony after news of is death spreads
  • Rhys appears after Roald (Ben Wiggins) is knocked out i.e. Joe is the only one who can see him.

The theory suggests that Rhys is the alter-ego of Joe, who he uses to satisfy his criminal cravings.

Jonathan Moore was a real author and his story is telling

Another fan took to Reddit under the sub-Reddit You On Lifetime, questioning if the name Jonathan Moore was a clue.

According to the author, Joe’s new alias is the real-life name of a mystery author who wrote The Poison Artist in 2016. Not only this, but the main character in the novel is engulfed in a murder mystery by drinking…wait for it… too much absinthe! He then pursues a killer who turns out to be all in his head!

Coincidence? We think not!

We’ll just have to wait and see if this fan theory is correct, but it’s a very convincing argument!

Interview: Here’s exactly how songs are chosen on Australian Idol, according to Harry Hayden

Harry Hayden‘s journey on Australian Idol came to an end on March 6 when they did not receive enough votes to continue on in the competition.

Even though the 18-year-old showed a lot of promise the nerves seemed to take hold, ultimately costing them a place in the Top 8 — something they put down to performing live.

“The nerves slowly got worse because being in front of a live crowd was a lot. It was something that I’ve never really experienced before,” they told Chattr in an interview after their elimination.

How do the Australian Idol contestants choose their songs?

Over the past two weeks in particular, we’ve heard the judges talk about “song choice” and now — thanks to Harry — we know exactly how the process takes shape.

“They work with us and really go with our vision,” the singer/songwriter said before revealing that the Top 12 contestants had to submit 50 songs to the producers that they wanted to sing.

Following this, the music team would choose a couple of songs for the week and then the contestants got to choose which they wanted to perform.

“They’ll give us a demo and then we’ll listen to it and then we’ll say what we want to change and they change it  instantly,” they said. “They can play any song that’s ever been released, they listen to it once and they’ll just be able to play it. They’re so talented!”

While it may seem easy to choose something you want to belt out, for the Idol alum? Not so much.

“I found the song choice quite hard because I’m a songwriter and I prefer to sing my own songs,” they admitted, adding that it was “because they’re the ones that I connect to the most.”

“It’s the way that I process every single event in my life. I just love my doing my own stuff.”

Australian Idol continues on Sunday at 7.00pm and Mondays at 7.30pm on 7 and 7Plus.

The four turtles will be played by Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo and Brady Noon as Raphael.

What will the film be about?

Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”

When will Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem be released?

Gone are the days of the cartoon turtles, because the new iteration is all CG-animated and will premiere in cinemas globally on September 7, 2023.

Starting at $7,720 a night, you too can stay at the Married at First Sight couples retreat

It’s Retreat Week, where our Married at First Sight Australia 2023 couples have escaped the city and have headed to the Southern Highlands of NSW to live under one roof for four days.

Like the 2022 season, our cursed blessed participants are once again shacking up at the STUH-NNING Kalinya Luxury Estate in Bargo, NSW.

According to their official website, the five-star luxury Estate is nestled in the stunning surroundings of a private, five-acre property. The “award-winning, grand, heritage-listed venue boasts premium accommodations imbued with personality and artistic design.”

On top of this, the name Kalinya – is an Indigenous Australian word meaning “good, beautiful and honest”. Concerning, considering the MAFS participants slept in it!

The property is made up of three lodgings, including The Homestead, The Lodge and the Barn, and all three can be rented out starting at a cool $7,720 a night.

The Homestead

Known as one of the finest examples of Australian colonial architecture and craftsmanship, the Heritage Homestead is combined with modern conveniences and style.

It boasts large wrap-around verandahs, grand high ceilings, and beautiful vintage finishes as well as patterned cornices and artworks. There are also Blue Gum timber floors that grace the living areas creating a natural, inviting atmosphere — how Australian!

The Lodge

The Lodge is brimming in history and was once the local nurses’ quarters in the Wollondilly region.

Constructed in the 1850s, it has exposed beams, vintage pendant lighting, floor-to-ceiling shelves, and a gorgeous open fireplace with a French industrial-style kitchen.

The Barn

Another part of the area’s rich historical viewpoint, The Barn started life as a space set up to build submarines, before it became a machinery workshop. Following this, it was converted into horse stables — which gave it its name today.

Now, it’s a large, two-storey spacious high vaulted barn—which houses some of Kalinya’s favourite accommodation rooms.

Its features include: “striking raked ceilings, exposed Oregon walls, and stylish country home finishes with views of the magnificent gardens”.

In true MAFS style, you can get married at Kalinya Estate

While it may need to be saged from bad MAFS juju, Kalinya Estate is also a spectacular wedding venue.

The Carriage House, The Terrace and the Piano & Sports Lounge are perfect locations for whichever size nuptials you may be orchestrating.

Ontop of this, there’s also a Gold Class Cinema and Lecture Theatre, gym, squash court and games centre.

Frankly, it sounds like HEAVEN.

You can find out more about Kalinya Estate here.

It’s a new era of footy! Dawn of the Dolphins will chronicle the formation of Australia’s newest NRL club

It’s been 16 years since a new club joined the National Rugby League (NRL), and now, Stan’s Dawn of the Dolphins will chronicle the rise of Australia’s brand-new team.

Coinciding with the 2023 NRL season launch, the doco will document the formative months of the new club, featuring unprecedented access into the lives of sport’s elite.

Premiering on March 6 (only on Stan), the series will be comprised of three episodes, which will be released weekly.

What will Dawn of the Dolphins be about?

Told through the lens of a fly-on-the-wall camera crew, we’ll see the remarkable tale of the Queensland-based side as they “prepare to transition from a successful community club to an elite professional force in the world’s leading rugby league competition”.

According to the official synopsis, the story will also be anchored by the business of becoming “NRL-ready” and will also include rare glimpses of the pressures and expectations facing the club.

Roll out the red carpet! The TV Week Logies have a brand-new home in Sydney

We already know that channel 7 has received the rights to the TV Week Logie Awards; however, they also have a brand-new location.

On March 6, the network announced that the glittering ceremony would now be taking place in Sydney, as opposed to Melbourne and Brisbane in years gone by.

“The time was right to find a new home for the Logies, and bringing them back to Sydney after more than 30 years made perfect sense,” Seven West Media Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer James Warburton said in a statement.

“Australia’s TV networks and many of its major production companies are based in Sydney, and the city provides a backdrop for some of the country’s most popular TV shows.”

Australian Idol 2023 continued on March 5 with live performances, as judges selected one song for each of the Top 10 contestants to perform.

Given four song choices, the contestants had to pick a song, without knowing which judge had chosen what.

Rose farmer Josh Hannan, 21, moved the audience by singing Forget Me by Lewis Capaldi, chosen by Amy Shark.

After his performance, Amy commended the Victorian for being consistently amazing, echoing Kyle Sandilands’ comments that Josh was “radio ready”.

Far North Queensland student Royston Sagigi-Baira, 23, sang Amy’s pick, I Won’t Let You Go by James Morrison — a song that “meant everything” to him, especially because he sang it at his mother’s funeral.

The judges praised him for showing his raw and vulnerable side, which resonated with the audience.

There was not a dry eye in the house when Royston’s brother Richard surprised him by flying down to the show.

Angelina Curtis, whose family were in the audience cheering her on, chose As It Was by Harry Styles. She looked ethereal in green, playing the piano for the first time while performing.

Meghan chose the tune, while Harry said it “wasn’t her best performance”, and Kyle said she looked uncomfortable stepping away from the piano.

The pressure of the competition proved too much for Western Australia’s Sash Seabourne, 25, as he performed Phil Collin’s classic In The Air Tonight.

Stay or Leave? Here’s what happened during the Married at First Sight Commitment Ceremony

While the Dinner Parties bring the ultimate drama during Married at First Sight Australia, it’s nothing compared to the wrath of the experts during the Commitment Ceremony.

From Alessandra Rampolla calling out sh**ty behaviour to John Aiken saying what we’re all thinking and Mel Schilling’s “less than impressed” face, it’s no surprise that our couples feel the need to yeet it outta there faster than they can get their blue tick.

But who stayed (or was forced to stay) and who chose to leave?

Scroll through to see what the Married at First Sight Australia 2023 couples decided to do at the Commitment Ceremonies.

Commitment Ceremony 4 — March 5

Married at First Sight’s 21st episode sees the couples struggling to address tensions from Wednesday’s chaotic Dinner Party.

Evelyn’s exposure of a “pocket dial” from a boys’ night out caused intense damage to Sandy and Dan, as well as Tayla and Hugo’s relationships.

It’s now officially halfway through the experiment and stakes are at an all-time high — with life-altering decisions being made.

Jesse and Claire

Claire and Jesse are the first couple on the couch and after having a few crap weeks, we’re really glad they’ve finally got their sh*t together.

Over the last week, Claire has gone above and beyond to show her consideration for Jesse, who has been thrilled by the turnaround.

This week saw the pair share their first kiss, which left Jesse feeling “wanted” due to Claire’s efforts.

The question is, will it actually stick this time?!

Sandy and Dan are still dealing with the fallout from Dan’s fooked behaviour at the boys’ night. After hearing that he was comparing his current wife to his former girlfriends, Sandy felt upset and distanced.

Despite an intimate moment earlier in the week, Dan decided to hit it and quit it, pulling away from their relationship.

Incompatibilities between the pair were highlighted, namely that Sandy does not like the beach as much as Dan does… which is awkward because he’s in “beast mode”.

While Sandy tries to focus on their similarities, Dan focuses on the incompatibilities and pictures of his ex-girlfriends…

Thank goodness Sandy decided not to put herself through anymore misery. SEE YA!

Bronte threw around words like “compassion” and “empathy”, and “supportive”, which is weird because we totally feel as though Harrison exhibits none of these behaviours.

The couple then reveals that they are in the best place they’ve ever been in the experiment, with Harrison even introducing Bronte to her son.

Both then admitted that they are falling in love with one another… (¬_¬)

New relo expert Harrison and real Expert John call out the couple, who accuse them of putting on a façade. He then pushes them to talk about the issues they’re facing.

Melinda admits she’s worried about how they can move forward when they’re both so stubborn, but John gives them some tips on better handling conflict when it arises.

While Tayla is certainly no saint, she felt “betrayed” by her husband, which he apologises for and says he wants to make things work.

Hugo then admits that he feels “insecure” around his wife and says he’s “terrified” of upsetting her, which is shocking for Tayla, but not us.

The nurse then decides it’s time to leg it out of the experiment and is bewildered to see that Hugo wants to stay.

“No way,” Tayla said, taking off her ring, before walking out. “Seriously, f*ck this I’m going home.”

Commitment Ceremony 3 — February 26

The third Commitment Ceremony welcomes the two new couples to the couch. Alessandra hits the newlyweds with the hard questions as it’s D-Day for Jesse and Claire and Janelle and Adam.

Janelle and Adam

Janelle and Adam

Janelle and Adam join the couch; however, neither of them wants to speak after that s**tfight of a week, so Alessandra gets the ball rolling.

“Maybe, I’ll start… how did you feel when you found out that Adam kissed Claire that night?”

Visibly upset, Janelle said that Adam’s lack of “accountability” and “apology” was the most upsetting thing of the whole ordeal.

Alessandra then points out that Adam was more concerned about him making “peace with Jesse” than with his own wife, and like a toddler who couldn’t string two sentences together, he struggled to explain himself.

“Why did you kiss Claire?” John asked him before Adam said: “I was drunk” and bro, no one is buying your f**cked excuses.

When the room tries to hold Adam accountable for his lack of apology, he again shows no remorse.

Janelle and Adam decide to quit the experiment (thank God), and Adam immediately leaves the room. No one follows him.

“Sorry guys,” he says, and no, you ain’t.

We hate when mum and dad fight, and this week, our collective parents, Alyssa and Duncan, are arguing over Duncan maintaining contact with Adam throughout the cheating scandal.

“I didn’t think I’d necessarily done anything too wrong,” Duncan says. “I was trying to get people to own stuff.”

Duncan calls the situation a “hiccup” but says it feels like he’s “in trouble for doing something as bad as Adam did.”

“It’s a differing opinion, and I think you can have a difference of opinion and work through them,” he says.

A heartbroken Alyssa is unsure whether their morals align anymore; however, they hold hands and decide to work through it.

Since Bronte is unwell, Harrison is all alone on the couch.

While he could have just said, “yeh, she’s crook,” instead, he tells everyone she goes “through more than other women during that time of the month.”

Then telling everyone she suffers from endometriosis, he then reveals she’s “in a lot of pain and gets very emotional and crying”, but jeezus christ. SHUT UP, dude.

Mel and Alessandra want to throttle him.

John then calls out Harrison for not being “real with us” and pretending to be sad, and dah, John. He;s gotta fake it because he hasn’t got his blue tick yet…

Evelyn and Rupert

When Evelyn and Rupert join the couch, John tells him he doesn’t “look comfortable” — basically summing the entire interaction between the pair.

Rupert then bumbles through, while Evelyn admits she feels her hubby isn’t ready for this kind of human interaction commitment.

The new Groom then admits to “liking her” but needs to be told he’s A-OK by his Bride. She says she is attracted to him and even say says she sees their relationship “blossoming”. Kinda cute…for 16-year-olds.

It’s a little frosty over in Sandy and Dan’s world.

Dan then admits he’s not “sexually attracted” to her and says: “I think that sexual tension needs to build.” Awkies.

Sandy feels rejected (dah!) and reveals “he barely looks at me.” Dan is shocked that she thinks this and Alessandra tells him that “intimacy is, of course, not only sexual but emotional”.

During their first official outing on the couch, Hugo says that it has been an “adjustment” and said he hoped he would have the “adorable meet-cute” during the experiment; however, “things slowed down”.

Tayla then admitted she couldn’t handle how many compliments she received from her Groom and perdona?

“Does not compute for me,” Mel said diplomatically. Us either.

Tayla then revealed she had snapped at Hugo for calling her “adorable and cute” because she’s “anything but” and ladies, this is why we can’t have nice things.

“If you’re going to compliment me, say something that sounds genuine and reflects my personality,” she said. Ohhhh, we see the problem — he just couldn’t find any other adjectives.

Tayla said she would prefer to be called “smart”, “quick”, and “driven,” forgetting that he is married to her and not writing her LinkedIn profile before Tayla says Hugo is not her “usual type”.

Mel, who was sick of Tayla’s bulls**t already, said that it was “”This is “not [a] made-to-order Grooms and Brides service.”

“That’s your old pattern, and it didn’t work out for you.” Ooft.

Lyndall and Cameron

Alessandra begins by saying Lyndall’s body language is “quite telling”, which is accurate since she literally looks like she would rather be anywhere else.

“It’s been one rollercoaster for us,” Cameron admits.

The couple revealed that they had Facetimed Lyndall’s mum, who had suggested Cameron give her a hug after Lyndall was feeling overwhelmed. Feeling “uncomfortable”, Cameron didn’t oblige and left. Afterwards, the pair had a “huge blow up”.

Back on the couch, Alessandra asked if Lyndall thought her husband was overreacting who said she’d “never want to make anyone do anything they were uncomfortable with”.

“Hugging me shouldn’t feel unnatural,” she said heatedly. “Not a month into this.”

Cameron then admitted it was because he felt “pressured” by Lyndall’s mum.

“Am I that awful and repulsive that you don’t want to hug me when I’m upset?” she asked him.

Interjecting, John called the excuse a”cop-out” before Alessandra gave him some hard truths.

“I’m not feeling any remorse for her feeling so awful,” she said.

Deciding they would try to make it work after #hug-gate, Cameron and Lyndall seemed back on track.

Jesse and Claire

God, we’re really starting to love Jesse, whose only look now is that of a wounded puppy.

“Where do we begin,” John says and yes, where, John?! Where, indeed.

Directing his questioning to Claire, John reiterates that “it all came out because you decided to come clean.”

Claire admits she wanted to tell Jesse because he was having “romantic feelings” for her and found herself keeping him “at arm’s length” because she was carrying “guilt and shame”.

“I knew I’d done the wrong thing,” she said.

John said that Jesse looked “weighed down”, and Jesse admitted the week had been “heavy”.

“I’m not sure how to explain it,” Jesse said. “There was a lot of vindication, a lot of like, I knew it, I knew I was on to something.”

While he felt justified, he then said he was still “questioning everything” and had a lot of “doubt” and “defeatism”.

John then asked Claire why she didn’t come clean earlier, who admitted that she was “afraid”.

The other Brides — specifically Alyssa, Melinda and Janelle’s facial expressions — decided to take aim at Claire, with Melinda saying she lied “five times”.

“It’s the betrayal…the gaslighting. Adam sitting on the couch at the first commitment ceremony. Jesse saying, ‘I feel this has happened,’ and Adam making him look like a crazy person,” Alyssa said.

Sandy then defended Claire, saying she was “owning” her mistake, and asked people to give her some credit.

When the attention turned back to Jesse, he said that while Claire was taking accountability, he also didn’t want to pile on her.

Breaking down, Jesse questioned whether he was “worthy” of being loved.

“You don’t deserve what I did,” Claire whispers to him. “I’m so sorry.”

Claire then called her husband “selfless” because he was “sitting here, feeling all his feels, and he’s worried about me feeling hurt.”

Upon decision time, Jesse decides that his steam has run out and wants to leave “to do the right thing for himself”; however, Claire wants to gain back his trust and hold him captive for another week.

John calls Jesse “remarkable” and praises him, reminding him he is worthy of love and insists he should give it another shot.

Harrison then blamed Bronte for EVERYTHING, even saying that her apology “fixed us”.

Luckily, John was not thrilled and grilled him about the phone number he had taken during the boys night out.

“I just wanted to humour her,” he said of the girl who asked for his number. Bronte, however, said she was “secure” in herself and was “choosing to trust him”. Why tho?!

Claire — the goddamn voice of reason — then piped up, saying she didn’t “like it one bit, and it actually makes me sick to my stomach”. OUCH, but also…fair.

Harrison then said that he “supposed it was a breach of trust” (dah, bro!) and admitted he wouldn’t have told Bronte about the number.

During Intimacy Week, a.k.a Melissa’s Christmas, tension boiled over for the pair, with Josh revealing what his wife had been saying behind closed doors. Melissa has been criticising him for lacking physical intimacy and not being “manly” enough.

The experts were shocked at her behaviour and want to know why physical intimacy is so important to her. The MAFS Bride then realised that she seeks out “big men” because that’s what she’s grown up with, and it makes her feel safe.

Josh then walked off, and the other Grooms consoled him — which would have been sweet if it wasn’t Harrison leading the charge…

“The most hurtful thing for me was after that. He said, ‘If there was someone who walked down the aisle that ‘wowed’ him, he would have cut it off with his ex then and there, and because I didn’t ‘wow him’, what happened with his ex, happened.”

John was disgusted by Shannon’s behaviour and held him accountable for his actions, and truly, he is the real MVP of the season!!

“This here isn’t what I wanted,” Caitlin said. “If I could do it all over again with someone else, I would. because I deserve that chance, but this man does not deserve me. So, I will be leaving.”

“You are worthy, and you are a great catch, and you will make someone very happy,” John said before Shannon took his ring off.

INTERVIEW: Madeleine West finally reveals why Dee didn’t return for the Neighbours finale

Madeleine West’s Dee Bliss is arguably one of the most popular characters on Neighbours, so when the show ended in July 2022, fans wanted to know why she wasn’t featured.

**CONTENT WARNING: This article references to sexual abuse and may be triggering to some readers.**

Now, the 42-year-old has finally revealed why she didn’t make a comeback — and the reason is a lot more serious than we thought.

Speaking to Anita Anabel on The Entertainment Hotline podcast, West revealed that she was dealing with a personal battle that she hadn’t previously disclosed in public until the beginning of this year.

When the now mother-of-six was a child, she was sexually abused “many many times” by one man and is still dealing with the trauma today.

“I was beginning my journey with facing my monster when the Neighbours finale filmed and so I wasn’t able to be a part of it,” she revealed. “Now I can explain why I wasn’t there.”

Her absence, of course, raised many questions from fans, “particularly from the UK”, where people were asking: “Where’s Dee? Where’s Dee?”

And when asked how she felt about the series coming to an end (even though it is now getting a reboot at Prime Video and 10), West said she was “shocked”.

“It was the ultimate immersive television experience because they are people you saw every day,” she said. “They’re closer to you probably in this day and age where we’re all quite separated.

“We don’t know who our neighbours are and yet we know who Doctor Karl is. So, we’re talking about 30 years of collected history. It was a safe place where people could go.”

Madeleine West used her experience as a catalyst for acting

Elsewhere, West revealed that acting — a profession she began at age five — was a “safe place” for her.

“It’s the place where dreams could come true,” she said. “Where I could lose myself against the lines of a script or the score of a song, or step into the skin of any character that was assigned to me.

“[I could] walk in someone else’s shoes and see the world through different eyes and tell a story that was far removed from my own own. Being able to wear someone else’s skin was comforting.”

Predatory Podcast and The Last List of Vivian Walker

West’s podcast Predatory with former homicide detective Gury Jubelin, where she shares her own powerful story of survival for the first time and Gary shares his experiences hunting down predators as a homicide detective.

She is also about to star in The Last List of Vivian Walker, a live musical and theatrical performance of Megan Albany’s acclaimed novel, which is touring Australia before heading to the UK and Europe.

You can purchase tickets here.
