The Tourist was one of Stan’s most popular Original Series in 2022 and now it’s been confirmed for a second season.
The six-part thriller, starring Irish heartthrob Jamie Dornan as Elliotand Australia’s very own Danielle McDonald Helen, will begin filming in April and this year, it will be set in Dublin.
What was season one of The Tourist about?
Season one of The Tourist saw Dornan (Belfast) star as Elliot, who finds himself in the glowing red heart of the Australian outback on an epic cat and mouse chase with a vast tank truck.
Elliot wakes in hospital, hurt, alive – and bewildered with no idea who he is. With merciless figures from his past pursuing him, Elliot’s search for answers propels him through the vast and unforgiving landscape of Australia.
What will season two of The Tourist be about?
A year on from their adventure in the outback, the new series, which is set in Dublin, follows Elliot (who also serves as executive producer) and Macdonald’s Elliot and Helen (Poker Face) travel to Ireland together.
Deciding that it’s finally time for Elliot to rediscover his roots following the car crash that left him with severe memory loss, the pair find themselves dragged into the dangerous whirlwind of his past life.
Whilst Elliot fights with his own demons, Helen is left to pick up the pieces of a larger mystery; forcing them both to confront foes, old and new.

What have the cast said about the new season?
Doran said he was “excited to continue the story”.
“Harry and Jack Williams are brilliant writers, and I can’t wait for audiences to see how well Ireland and its characters are utilised to keep them guessing as the tale progresses,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, McDonald said: “I’m so excited to team up with Jamie again and return for another wild adventure with an amazing cast and crew. Jack and Harry Williams are brilliant story tellers and it’s exciting to see what their minds will come up with next.”
The second season of the Stan Original SeriesThe Tourist will commence production in April.
The Australian Idol 2023 competition has shattered the dreams of Jasey Fox and Maya Weiss, who did not gain enough votes to continue in the competition.
And while the 26-year-old said that “setbacks” were a natural part of the course, he did agree with judge Kyle Sandilands that the show was a “popularity contest”.
“The first thing is that Maya and I are older and have less friends and family who are really keen,” Fox admitted in an interview with Chattr after his elimination.
“Everybody is supportive but we’ve been doing this for years. So this isn’t life or death, really. Whereas for the people who got through, I think that they have a lot of people behind them. That is exactly what happens.
“It’s true. It is a popularity contest and I’ve never won a popularity contest in my whole life,” he said. “And I was not expecting to win this one. But I’m very grateful that I got to the point that I got to.”
Australian Idol’s Jasey Fox. Source: Seven.
Jasey Fox was eleven years older than the youngest contestant
While 26 isn’t over the hill by any means, the seasoned performer was the oldest male in the competition, eleven years older than the youngest contestant.
“It wasn’t a representative of an even playing field on either side of things,” he said. “I really just don’t think that there’s such thing as being rejected or an actual setback. It’s just a redirection, and I have a lot of hope for the future for myself and especially for Maya. It’s just a TV show at the end of the day.
“It matters what you do after the show and how you handle difficulty as well as the successes.”
While he knows he has talent (doesn’t he ever), the “competition” wasn’t something he particularly enjoyed, especially because it took him back to his childhood as a competitve dancer.
Source: Seven.
“The competition was sort of a difficult thing for me,” he said. “I’m not competitive in any way. I’m only extremely competitive with myself, and I want to do very well. However, a competitive environment is not something I take well to. It doesn’t make me feel good, and it was bothering me, if I’m very honest.”
He added: “I’ve known I wasn’t going to win the whole time I was there,” he said. “The most important thing was sharing my artistry.”
Australian Idol airs 7.00 pm Sunday and 7.30 pm Monday and Tuesday on Channel 7 and 7plus.

There’s been a long-standing rumour that the series will end at the end of the next season, however, writer, producer and actor Brendan — who plays Coach Beard — recently told The Hollywood Reporter that it could be picked up “in some other way”.

Disney+ has just released the lively and fun-loving trailer for Rye Lane, and for fans of the British rom-com, you’re going to want to set your reminders now.
Launching in Australia on March 31, the film follows Dom David Jonsson and Yas and (Vivian Oparah), two twenty-somethings both reeling from bad break-ups, who connect over the course of an eventful day in South London.
They help each other deal with their nightmare exes, which potentially (we’re going to say very likely) will restore their faith in romance.

Dom and Yas’ paths cross when Dom is ugly-crying in a toilet stall after stealing a moment for himself while out for an awkward meal with his ex, who cheated on him with his best friend.

What follows is a day of impulsive and joyous mayhem as these two 20-something Londoners roam Peckham through karaoke bars and playgrounds while inching toward the possibility of opening their hearts again.

Premiering on Prime on March 31 with the first three episodes and then dropping weekly each Friday, the series features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as the Power evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.
Who is in the cast of The Power?
Alongside Collette as Mayor Margot Cleary-Lopez, the series stars John Leguizamo (Romeo + Juliet) as Rob Lopez, Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as Jos Cleary-Lopez, Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso) as Tunde Ojo, Josh Charles (The Good Wife) as Daniel Dandon, Eddie Marsan (Happy Go-Lucky) as Bernie Monke, Ria Zmitrowicz (Three Girls) as Roxy Monke, Zrinka Cvitešić (Na Putu) as Tatiana Moskalev and Halle Bush (The Power) as Allie Montgomery.
What was The Power by Naomi Alderman about?
The series is based on British writer Alderman’s 2016 science fiction novel and poses the question: What would the world look like if men were afraid of women rather than women being afraid of men?
It centres around women developing the ability to release electrical jolts from their fingers, thus leading them to become the dominant sex.
The book was inspired by a mentorship with The Handmaid’s Tale author Margaret Atwood and focuses on several main characters, none of whom fit into the traditional role of the protagonist.
Scandal’sKerry Washington has got range, girl! The actor and executive producer will now star in Unprisoned, a series about a single mother who welcomes her formerly incarcerated father into her home after 17 years.

Premiering on March 10 on the streaming service Disney+, the half-hour comedy will follow Edwin’s exit — to the tune of Grammy Award winner, Lizzo, Classic — as he re-builds his relationship with his family.

“You can stay with us as long as you need,” Washington’s Paige tells her father. “But, the same rules still apply.”
“Don’t get into any business, don’t put the knife back into the jelly after I’ve licked it…,” Edwin says. LOL!
It’s a light-hearted look into a serious topic, including Paige’s admission: “I don’t know what to do!”
“Let’s start with more wine, obviously!” her friend Esti (Jee Young Han) says.

Alongside Washington, Lindo and Rakotohavana, the series stars the aforementioned Han as Esti, Marque Richardson (Dear White People) as Mal, the caseworker at the group home from which Eddie has been released and Jordyn McIntosh (The First Lady) who plays a younger version of Paige.

Australian streaming service Stan continues it’s original documentary slate withRevealed: Trafficked.
Premiering on March 12, the original film is a raw, gritty observational documentary exposing what is one of Australia’s largest human trafficking operations, and challenges the government to take action on a largely under-reported crime that is rife in Australia.
Directed by documentary filmmaker Sascha Ettinger-Epstein (The Pink House), the narrative will draw upon the incredible 60 Minutes story first reported by journalist Nick McKenzie (pictured).
From Melbourne and Queensland to South Korea and London, Nick alongside South Korean journalist Jiyoon Kim from Investigative Agency Newstapa, uncovers how vulnerable women are targeted, meeting with a young survivor who was brainwashed and coerced into enduring shocking conditions as a sex worker.
Last year, Mckenzie alongside The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, revealed how international criminals were circumventing laws and trafficking vulnerable Asian women to work in the sex industry in Australia.
Stan Original Revealed: Trafficked will premiere on March 12, only on Stan.
Say it isn’t so! Two major Sex Education actors are exiting stage left and won’t be returning for the series after its fourth season.
On February 21, Emma Mackey announced that she will be saying goodbye to Maeve, one of the most central characters on the show.
Speaking to Radio Times at the BAFTA Film Awards, when asked about her role continuing after the upcoming season, she said: “Season 5? I’ve just finished the fourth one last week! No, I don’t think I’ll be in season five. I’ve said goodbye to Maeve.”
The announcement doesn’t really come as a surprise to viewers, as at the end of season three, Maeve moved to the US to study. This means, that she will appear in very few scenes, which will likely include a farewell. Sad face!

“It’s a blessing because it is a launchpad and it is something that has given us opportunities in different ways, but it’s something that I want to gracefully exit from and be happy that it exists and protect it and enjoy it in the time that it has existed in. But yeah, it needs to be left alone now, I think.”
She continued: “We can all move on and take what we learned from Sex Ed as well because it has been a school, quite literally, for all of us.
“It’s just wonderful to have had that education and to have that baptism of fire and to have just been flung into that whole world. I think it’s made us stronger.”
Ncuti Gatwa is also not reprising his role on Sex Education
Possibly the most iconic character on the Netflix series, Ncuti Gatwa also revealed he won’t be returning to the popular series.
On February 10, it was revealed that he and the beloved, Eric Effiong, would not be heading back to Moordale Secondary School after season four.
“Last day. Last time. Bye bubs, thank you for all the lessons and for all the strength,” he captioned a post on Instagram, sharing a pic of his trailer door.

Thankfully, Gatwa has some awesome projects coming up!
Premiering in July, Gatwa will appear on the silver screen in the Barbie movie with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Following this, he will appear as the 15th Doctor in the 60th anniversary season of BBC’s iconic sci-fi series Doctor Who, becoming the first Black actor to lead the show. Amazing!

Perth’s fearless, genre-bending band Voyager will represent Australia at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.
On February 22, SBS announced that bandmates — Danny Estrin, Simone Dow, Alex Canion, Scott Kay and Ashley Doodkorte — would be headed to Liverpool, UK from May 9 – May 13 to compete.
The band has been throwing their hat in the ring for the comp since Australia (confusingly) announced its participation in 2015.
“As a long-time Eurovision fan, this is the pinnacle – Voyager gets to play the greatest show on earth!” Estrin said in a statement.
“Our song Promise is made for the Eurovision stage, and collectively we feel it’s one of our best yet. We filmed the music video in both the city of Perth and beautiful parts of Western Australia to showcase the majestic beauty of our home state. Eurovisionation, we are coming!!!”

Who are Voyager?
Blending New Romantic, ‘80s infused vocals with technical, melodic framework, groovy basslines, bombastic drums, and what is fast becoming the band’s signature instrument, the keytar, the band have toured the world many times over, with an influx of fans on their latest European tour won over by their electric live performances.
Forming in 1999 at the University of Western Australia (with founding members Estrin, Baker and Lovkis), the musicians have since released seven studio albums, with one more to come after their Eurovision turn.
In 2020, they won Best Hard Rock Album at the Independent Music Awards for Colours in the Sun, which also made a debut at number one in the AIR charts.
What song will Voyager perform at the Euro Vision Song Contest?
Voyager will perform Promise, a song that begins with the lyrics: “Have you ever done anything like this before?”, fitting for a band, which has in fact, never done this before.
“Promise is a song that delivers in spades from a band that never fails to impress. From the very first listen, I knew it was something special – an epic, cinematic track that will take listeners on an anthemic rock voyage all the way to the Eurovision stage,” director of Blink TV, Paul Clarke said.
Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy, with their song Stefania.
This year, the United Kingdom will host the competition on Ukraine’s behalf with the theme United by Music.

What happened in Season Two of Outer Banks?
At the end of Outer Banks‘ second season, fans were thrilled to find that a lot of their lingering questions had been answered. Most notably that Sarah(Madelyn Cline)and John B (Chase Stokes) survived their stormy journey.
The couple reunites with the Pogues to continue their treasure hunt, clear John B’s name, and find the Cross of Santo Domingo.
The season ended with a thrilling boat heist, with Sarah being kidnapped by her own family. The Pogues then hid out in a shipping container in hopes of saving her and a fight ensued.
After escaping onto a smaller boat, they were forced to leave the Cross in the hands of murderous father-son duo Rafe (DrewStarkey) and Ward (Charles Esten) and ended up on a small island they named ‘Poguelandia’.
Carla (Elizabeth Mitchell), who is in Barbados, meets a mysterious man who turned out to be John B’s long-lost father (Charles Halford)…and he’s not dead!
John B says that he can help her get what she wants, in exchange for helping his son.
What’s Season Three of Outer Banks about?
The official synopsis for Season Three reads: After losing the gold and fleeing the Outer Banks, Season Three finds the Pogues washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home.
Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling.
But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), JJ (RudyPankow), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. T
hey’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty.
Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together.

According to her 9Now bio, Evelyn was “devastated” by an ex who also applied for a dating show… while they were together is this revenge?!
Since that fateful relationship, she has been guarded ever since and believes her Chinese-Australian upbringing and being a child of divorce is the reason she struggles to show affection.
In fact, Evelyn struggles to say “I love you”, because she rarely saw the words — or sentiment — used when growing up.
Even though she’s diving headfirst into the experiment, she’s cautious about starting a new relationship. She also wants marriage and kids; however, she’s never been the stay-at-home type.
Married at First Sight’s Evelyn Ellis was on Big Brother UK
In 2016, the stunning MAFS Bride was on Big Brother in the UK. At the time, she worked in London as a hostess and described herself as “the most indecisive person you would have ever met.”
She was only ever nominated twice and ultimately placed fifth on the show. She was also the highest-ranking female during the season.

The IT Account executive hails from New South Wales and admits he falls hard and quickly, describing himself as a “hopeless romantic who can’t see red flags in a relationship”.

Even though he’s very confident with the ladies, he reveals he can get the “ick” pretty easily, which is confusing since he doesn’t see red flags….
Hugo is also “oblivious” when it comes to hookups because he’s known to prioritise himself, and his main challenge is putting the work in when it comes to women.
Despite his flaws, he does wear his heart on his sleeve and is looking for a person who can be his best friend. Cute!
