Interview: Krissy Marsh on how real the drama is on The Real Housewives of Sydney

Because nothing on reality TV is fake, right?

The Real Housewives of Sydney veteran Krissy Marsh is back for season two of the show, and she said that everything feels more “real” this time around.

Speaking to Chattr, the mum of two said that the women cast in season one weren’t her friends, so the fallout from fights in season two was “difficult”.

“These are real friendships and it’s real emotions,” she said. “It’s real sadness if someone disappoints you or lets you down,”

“For me, it’s real. It’s very difficult when you do have a falling out or you do have a disagreement.”

Marsh explained that the strong friendships many of the housewives shared prior to filming means that the fights in the upcoming season hit hard.

“I think [it] makes it even harder because they are my friends. It’s very difficult when you do have a falling out or you do have a disagreement,” she said.

The Sydney socialite added that for that reason she prides herself on not stooping low when it comes to arguing with her castmates.

“I literally would be sitting there like this going, “Honey, I could say this, this, this and this right now, but I’m not going to do that because I don’t do that in real life. So, what I try and do is do what I would do in real life. That’s who I am. And that’s what you’ll see.”

What can fans expect in the upcoming season?

According to Marsh, it’s “female empowerment”.

“This time it’s a lot about women supporting women,” she said.

“I also think that the emotions, like especially if someone praises you as well — it’s not all just negative,” she added. So, I think there’s going to be a lot of issues that are discussed. Really important issues.”

The Real Housewives Of Sydney premieres on Binge on October 10 with new episodes released weekly.
