It should come as no surprise if you’ve watched The Block 2026 this week, but the vibe among the teams is somewhat fractured.
From a fight over an olive tree to Tayla telling Jolene she “doesn’t know her at all” to Jolene telling her to stay the heck out of her house, things have gotten feisty.
So much so that one team has apparently bailed on the group chat.
Reports claim tensions continued long after filming wrapped
Lisa and Rosco have revealed that while most of the cast are still in contact after filming wrapped, one house has distanced itself from the rest by leaving the contestants’ group chat.
Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV, Rosco said only four of the five teams are still chatting regularly.
“Four out of five houses are talking. Well, four out of five houses are talking in the group chat,” he said.
Lisa then appeared to hint that not everyone had remained on good terms.
“Most of the houses are friendly,” she added. Notice the ~most~?
Meanwhile, Jolene and Adam played it down when asked if the teams are still talking in the group chat.
“We’re always sending each other everything, talking to everyone every day,” Adam shared, while Jolene said conversations were “very family-orientated”.
“No one else knows the bubble like we do,” she added. “So I think being able to lean in and send each other a message when you’re having a bad day or if you go, ‘Oh, that was funny’, good or bad, I think it’s still very positive.”
Which team quit the group chat?
An insider has now revealed which team bailed on the group.
Speaking to Woman’s Day, the insider revealed Chantel and Wyatt have “completely ghosted” their co-stars, bailing on events and ditching the group chat.
“There’s been no communication in the WhatsApp group, no calls, no texts. They’ve just removed themselves from the whole thing,” they said.
The source adds: “They left The Block at the end of filming and really have only interacted with the other houses once.”
This all makes sense, given a comment that was left on the above video.
Chantel leaves shady comment on Instagram
In case you were wondering which teams still have beef, Chantel answered the question for us on Instagram.
Although House Two weren’t at the event, Chantel appeared to make her feelings about her co-stars pretty clear in the comments section, writing: “Love House Four & Five” — referring to Courtney and Sev, and Rick and Tayla.
Interesting, considering the video featured House Two’s Lisa and Rosco, as well as House Three’s Adam and Jolene…
But the drama didn’t end there, with Tayla also jumping into the comments and replying to Chantel: “ditto baby”. Shadyyyyy!
Later in the interview, Rosco dismissed any suggestion the conflict viewers have seen on screen was manufactured, insisting emotions naturally boiled over during filming.
“Nothing’s scripted. You get backed into a corner, and sometimes the only way out is to fight your way out of that, and that can come across in all different sorts of ways,” he said.
The latest revelation comes after reports suggested several relationships between this year’s contestants had broken down during production.
“The pressure of the show caused everything to buckle,” an insider told New Idea.
“Jolene says it as she sees it, and after weeks of biting her tongue, she is ready to talk.”
The publication also claimed producers had become increasingly concerned about the ongoing tension between contestants, with fears some cast members may struggle to reunite for auction day.
“There has been so much bad blood that getting the entire cast back into the same room is becoming a genuine worry,” the source claimed.
The comments also follow an interview with Chattr, where Courtney and Sev opened up about the fallout from their friendship with Rick and Tayla after Sunday’s explosive body corporate meeting which has seen one contestant come out swinging after it aired.
Courtney and Sev said they had considered Rick and Tayla their closest allies throughout the competition and were devastated when the relationship fell apart.
“Sev and I were really disappointed because Rick and Tayla were our best friends on the show. We had their back time after time again,” Courtney told Chattr.
“It really upset us that they were throwing us under the bus when they had two painters in their house painting their room [the week before].”
The insider added that while the renovations were nearing completion, some relationships may have been damaged beyond repair.
