Reality star Josh Packham put up one hell of a fight on The Traitors Australia 2026, but ultimately, his closest ally ended up being the one to banish him. Eek!

In a shocking penultimate episode, fresh from the Traitors murdering Big Brother’s Tully Smyth, the final five went into a brutal Round Table. The night began with the heat on comedian Rhys Nicholson, who looked set to be unmasked as a Traitor. But a plot twist came when The Bachelor’s Keira Maguire — newly armed with a double-vote dagger — suddenly turned on her longtime ally, twin brother Josh.

“It’s funny that you are now questioning me, Keira,” Josh said. Keira replied that she had suddenly grown suspicious of Josh because he was looking in Kirby’s direction during the tense chat. “It makes me suss on you,” she said.

She went on to suggest that Josh had fabricated the story that his twin Luke was murdered in a death match set by the Traitors. “You and Luke knew who the Traitors were,” she said. “We don’t know if the death match is true. You could have killed Luke; you could be a Traitor.”

Krissy was already suspicious of Josh, which meant that her vote, along with Keira’s double vote, were enough to banish Josh from the game. In another shocking moment, Kirby tried to protect Josh by voting for her fellow Traitor Rhys to be banished. Yikes.

In an exclusive interview with Chattr, Josh revealed what happened after he was banished and where he stands with Keira now.

Josh said that he has come to accept Keira’s decision to banish him. “I do understand. Keira was playing as a real heartfelt Faithful. I think Keira would have been happy to finish the game with three other Faithfuls. I was more prepared to be more ruthless. I only ever wanted to finish with one person,” he said.

After the game, Josh waited for a phone call from Keira that never came. “I was waiting for Keira to reach out, but she never did. But ultimately, we did chat at one of Krissy’s famous Tuesday night dinners. We did sit together and find out our differences and how things went wrong for our relationship — ultimately it’s just a game, and you move on from these things, and we both laughed about it at the end and said it would make great TV,” he said. He’s not wrong!

“Keira is basically a dagger at all times. She can stab you in the back. You don’t know what’s going to happen — that’s just the way Keira is.”

Since Josh turned on one of his allies, Lawson Mahoney, the night before his banishment, he understands that he earned that karma from Keira’s shocking betrayal.

“Absolutely! I got my ‘live by the sword, die by the sword’ ending. I definitely deserved it, 100 percent. I think everyone would be happy to see me go out at the Round Table after being so wrong,” he said.

“I got my comeuppance at the end. I was taking out the wrong people, so ultimately it’s only fair for me to go. I was okay with it.”

The Traitors finale airs on Wednesday on Channel 10 and 10Play.
