By their own admission, My Kitchen Rules (MKR) team Angus and Simon have very few allies in the competition, one of the only ones being Krysten and Lucy.
During our exclusive chats with both teams, they listed each other as their closest mates on MKR.
But despite their strong friendship (or perhaps because of it), Krysten and Lucy admitted it was difficult to watch Angus and Simon feud with Zoe, particularly because they found some of the boys’ behaviour to be indefensible.
Krysten and Lucy react to Angus and Simon’s MKR fight with Zoe
Although they are firm supporters of the Adelaide boys, even level-headed Krysten and Lucy couldn’t condone their staunch attitude towards Zoe, which included the lads describing her and Zac as “the weakest link” in the competition.

Speaking exclusively to Chattr, the mother-daughter duo discussed the tense moment where Zoe demands an apology from Angus and Simon at the conclusion of their Instant Restaurant and were met with resistance.
“We love Angus and Simon, so watching Simon struggle to give an apology was actually really challenging for Mum and I because we didn’t agree with his behaviour at that point,” Lucy told Chattr.
“I think we honestly felt that if Simon had just, in the first instance, given a heartfelt apology, it would’ve all gone away. His behaviour exacerbated the situation,” Krysten added.
Why Angus and Simon struggled to apologise to Zoe
Krysten went on to share why she feels Angus and Simon found it difficult to apologise to Zoe.
“At that point he’d just received some pretty harsh criticism from the judges and I think the last thing that was on his mind was giving Zoe an apology,” Krysten said.
“I think Simon a lot of the times struggles with his tone of voice that he uses. I think if he uses a different tone at times it would be better. But he’s aware of that and he’s trying to work on that so good on him.”
In a separate chat, Angus and Simon slammed Zoe for storming into their kitchen during their Instant Restaurant and they certainly did not mince words.
My Kitchen Rules airs on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
