By now, you’ve probably heard about the influencer trip with Snatched Waist. Multiple Aussie reality TV stars and content creators have been flown to Bali for a controversial ‘rib contouring’ surgery. Married At First Sight (MAFS) brides Bec Zacharia and Awhina Rutene are among the group, but Bec has since delayed her procedure. She hasn’t decided whether to go through with it yet, and Domenica Calarco previously called it a PR stunt.

She’s not the only one, either. Gia Fleur tells Chattr she agrees, calling her former co-star out in a biting comment.

“[It’s] yet another PR stunt for Bec who thinks she’s God’s gift, to be able to waste people’s time and money bringing her there only to back out because she’s so confused about how she wants to look is ridiculous,” Gia says.

“Work on your insides.”

Bec says Gia’s involvement is “fascinating”, as the pair haven’t spoken for a long time.

“It’s always fascinating when someone with absolutely no insight into my world suddenly becomes an expert on my motives,” Bec tells us. “Gia doesn’t speak to me, isn’t part of my life, and has no connection to anyone involved in this situation, yet somehow feels qualified to make sweeping judgements.”

As for Gia’s PR stunt claim, Bec hints that Gia could be using her fame to “stay relevant”.

“This feels like yet another attempt to attach herself to a storyline that has nothing to do with her. If commenting on me is how she chooses to stay relevant, that’s entirely her choice, and I wish her well.”

Insider defends Bec’s decision to delay rib procedure

Bec has been documenting her trip to Bali and recently decided not to go through with the rib contouring procedure, for now. This controversial surgery is a cosmetic procedure that helps define the waist by reshaping the lower ribs. It’s not approved in Australia, which is why the group have flown to Bali to get it done instead.

The MAFS bride is still in Bali and may go through with the procedure after giving it more thought.

A source close to the bride says it’s definitely not a PR stunt, and describes torment behind the scenes. “I’ve watched Bec agonise over this decision for weeks. Anyone suggesting she’s doing it for attention clearly doesn’t know her or what’s been happening behind the scenes. She’s still weighing up whether the procedure aligns with her values and whether it’s something she genuinely wants to do,” the insider spills.

“Bec has been honest from day one about being invited on the trip, about the procedure itself, and about the fact that she’s still deciding. That’s the opposite of a PR stunt, that’s full transparency.”

The source tells Chattr the bride decided to share her journey because it was real, not because it was perfect.

“The criticism is coming from people who have seen a few headlines and think they know the full story, when the reality is they don’t have a clue.”
