  • Love Island's viral Power Couple feud escalated after several former contestants threw shade at each other on TikTok.
  • Season 7 winner Yana Marks then shared leaked WhatsApp messages suggesting the online drama was originally pitched as a fake storyline.
  • The messages allegedly included suggestions to "start a fake fight" with other Power Couples to make things seem "juicier".
  • While the chats cast doubt on how genuine the feud was, the leaked receipts may have sparked real tension between the former Islanders.

Love Island Australia 2026 kicked off this week and there’s already drama on TikTok involving the Power Couple title.

The beef kicked off when Season 5 Power Couple winner Kale posted a video where he poked holes at the Power Couple system.

“Have you guys seen the Power Couples and are you a Power Couple if you’re on the show for a season or two and don’t win? Come on!” Kale said in his video.

Season 5 Power Couple inductee Nate Page responded: “So I hear Kale has been talking a whole lot of smack, Power Couples this and Power Couples that, are they even Power Couples?”

He then said: “Why don’t you shut your mouth? I remember what you and Tyra did, won the show, booted us out.”

Nate concluded the vid by offering to arm wrestle Kale.

Elsewhere, Kaylah Holmes from Season 6 responded to a question from a fan asking “a very messy question”.

“Do all Power Couples get along or are there some people that have beef with each other?” the fan asked.

“The season was filming all was fine and dandy but now that things have gone a little bit public, some new things seem to be arising on social media,” she responded in her video.

“I woke up this morning to a little bit of sneaky shade about worthiness of the title Power Couple and essentially someone said a little something that if you weren’t a winner of your season, that doesn’t really prove worthiness of a Power Couple, also, if you’re on your season for five minutes.”

“I’m really not confrontational, I can’t do that,” she concluded.

Season 4’s Power Couple Claudia Bonifazio and Austen Bugeja also weighed in on the debate via TikTok, writing: “Idk about you guys but we won!”

Was the Love Island Power Couple drama fake?

Season 7 winner Yana Marks then came in with receipts, sharing a WhatsApp conversation on TikTok with the caption “fools”.

In the message chain, where names were scribbled out, one person texted: “I reckon if any of you are asked say there was some power couple beef along the way (I know there wasn’t). Sounds juicier if the audience think you guys were arguing about what decisions to make.”

Yana then wrote back: “I’m not saying that.”

“That’s fine, just a suggestion,” the other person responded.

“HILARIOUS,” wrote another.

“We’ll start a fake fight with Claudia and Austen online xx,” another anonymous person wrote.

“Nate and Georgia coming for your ass too,” wrote another.

So was the drama made up or is there actually Power Couple beef? Well, I’d say there is now that the receipts have leaked!
