Love Island Australia is returning for its eighth season in 2026, with a brand-new villa, a fresh batch of ridiculously hot singles and a delicious twist that could turn the entire competition upside down.
This year, host Sophie Monk and the Islanders will swap Spain for tropical Fiji, taking over the iconic Love Island USA villa for the very first time. There will be some familiar faces returning, with six iconic Love Island couples heading back to the franchise as part of a mysterious new Power Couples twist.
With $50,000 up for grabs, expect plenty of shady behaviour, explosive recouplings, betrayals and possibly… some genuine love stories. What a concept!
Who is the host of Love Island Australia 2026?
The forever iconic Sophie Monk is returning to host Love Island Australia 2026, continuing her long-running role as the face of the Aussie dating show.
The former Bardot singer has hosted the series since its debut in 2018, becoming a fan favourite thanks to her cheeky wit, deadpan delivery and hilarious reactions to the Islanders’ messy antics.

Speaking to WHO, Sophie teased that the upcoming season will be historic TV. “It’s just going to blow your mind,” she said. “Everything clicked to make the most amazing reality television I’ve ever seen ever [in] my whole life and I’ve been on both sides.”
Irish comedian Eoghan McDermott will also return as the show’s beloved narrator.
When does Love Island Australia 2026 premiere?
Love Island Australia 2026 will premiere on Monday, October 26, 2026. New episodes will drop on 9Now at 10am AEDT, before airing on Channel Nine at 8:30pm on Monday through Thursday.
Fans wanting even more drama can also tune into a new spin-off series, Love Island Australia: Unseen. Uncut. which will stream exclusively on Stan. The spin-off promises additional behind-the-scenes footage, including previously unseen conversations, relationships and villa drama.
Where is Love Island Australia 2026 filmed?
For the first time in the show’s history, Love Island Australia is being filmed in stunning Fiji.
The 2026 Islanders will move into the luxurious villa previously used by Love Island USA, trading the Mediterranean for a tropical island paradise. The change marks a significant shake-up for the Australian version, which has filmed several previous seasons in Spain.
ITV Creative Director, Alex Mavroidakis, was buzzing about the show’s big move. “Thanks to our American landlords, we’ve filled the best Love Island villa in the world with the most unfiltered and flawless-looking cast of singles,” Alex said.
“If you like non-stop shocks, epic betrayals, proper LOLs, love triangles and love stories, the new season of Love Island Australia is the place for you.”
What does the Power Couples twist mean on Love Island Australia 2026?
One of the biggest changes to Love Island Australia 2026 is the introduction of the Power Couples twist, which will see six successful couples from previous seasons return to influence what happens inside the villa.
These couples will be replacing the superfans who made decisions on previous non-live seasons. The returning couples are:
- Claudia and Austen — Season four winners.
- Kale and Tyra — Season five winners.
- Georgia and Nate — Season five contestants.
- Eric and Kaylah — Season six contestants.
- Kye and Yana — Season seven winners.
- Connor and Isabel — Season seven contestants.
Unlike the new Islanders, these familiar faces have already found love on the show. But this time, they’ll be given power over the villa and the contestants’ experiences.
Channel Nine has promised that the returning couples will create chaos, although the full details of their powers have not yet been revealed. With former winners potentially influencing the next generation of Islanders, the twist could make finding love even more complicated — and dramatic!
Love Island Australia 2026 premieres October 26 on Channel Nine and 9Now.
