  • A fiery confrontation inside the Big Brother house has sparked a huge reaction, with viewers taking to social media to share their thoughts.
  • Former Big Brother stars have also weighed in, offering their opinions on the dramatic moment.
  • Fans are split over what unfolded, with many passionately backing one housemate while others saw things very differently.
  • The explosive exchange has quickly become one of the season's most talked-about moments, fuelling debate across social media.

Tensions reached boiling point during Thursday night’s Big Brother Australia 2026 when Anita and Ebony became embroiled in a heated argument that left the house stunned.

The confrontation unfolded during dinner after a disagreement escalated, with both women raising their voices as fellow housemates watched on.

The fight started over Anita not feeling like she was able to speak and Ebony mocking her and brushing her off, prompting Anita to storm after Ebony to make her point.

Ebony became visibly frustrated, telling Anita not to approach her in an aggressive manner, while Anita attempted to stand her ground and finish what she wanted to say. As the argument intensified, other contestants stepped in to calm the situation, but neither woman appeared willing to back down.

The explosive exchange has since sparked fierce debate across social media, with fans — and even former Big Brother stars — weighing in on the confrontation.

Former Big Brother housemates rally behind Anita

Several familiar faces from the Big Brother family threw their support behind Anita following the tense exchange.

Former housemate Tully Smyth criticised the confrontation, writing: “LET HER SPEAK. This isn’t cool. At all. I’ve been lucky enough to be a housemate twice and nobody ever spoke to each other like this. Not a vibe,” she wrote on Instagram.

Former contestant Keiran Davidson — who happens to be the son of recently evicted housemate Pam — also praised Anita for standing her ground.

“Anita standing up for herself was brilliant,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, former Big Brother host Mike Goldman couldn’t resist commenting on the drama, joking:
“D-R-A-M-A R-A-M-A. Someone please pour them each a nice glass of wine…”

Fans praise Anita for standing up to Ebony

Many viewers applauded Anita for refusing to back down, with several accusing Ebony of repeatedly speaking over other housemates throughout the season.

“SAY IT LOUDER ANITA FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!” one person wrote.

“Anita standing up to Ebony and her mean girl garbage. Love her,” wrote another.

“The way Ebony speaks to people is disgusting. I know she won’t take anything away from this other than it being annoying, but I really hope this is an eye-opener for her group of enablers,” wrote a third.

Another fan called for Ebony to be removed from the house, writing: “TIME TO REMOVE EBONY NOW. This isn’t right to be normalising.”

And a final person simply wrote: “Go Anita, stand up for yourself girl!”

Not everyone agreed, however, with one viewer criticising Anita’s communication style.

Others argue Ebony did nothing wrong

While much of the online discussion favoured Anita, plenty of viewers defended Ebony, arguing she was simply matching the energy inside the chaotic house.

“Ebony kind of ate that,” wrote one fan.

“Ebony didn’t do anything remotely close enough deserving for Anita to react that way,” another said.

“I’m Ebony energy ALL THE WAY,” someone else wrote, with another adding: “Ebony is the show!”

One viewer suggested Ebony had a point during the exchange.

“I’m sorry, but I kind of feel what Ebony is saying,” they shared. “Just spit out whatever you want to say. Everyone else is saying whatever they want, so trying to get everyone to be quiet so you can speak when it’s already hectic isn’t going to work. Just say whatever you have to say — someone is going to pick up what you said eventually.”

With emotions running high inside the house and viewers equally divided online, it’s clear the Anita and Ebony showdown has become one of the season’s most talked-about moments.

Big Brother airs 7:30pm weeknights and 7pm Sundays on 10, with the live stream available via 10 Play.
