Now that you’ve no doubt devoured the final two eps of FBoy Island Australia 2023, you’re probably wondering whether golden couple Ziara Rae and Izaya Leota are still together.
Well, we have the most brilliant of news for you. They are! DAH!
Filming finished at the beginning of March 2023, meaning that at the time of the finale, the couple has been official for just over three whole months and like any reality TV pairing, they’ve had to keep their relo tightly under wraps!
“We’ve been so excited,” Ziara told Chattr prior to the finale being aired. “Obviously, we haven’t done anything like the normal boyfriend/girlfriend would do. We haven’t been to restaurants or movies, nothing like that.”
Once the final verdict was announced, the couple came off the island, having to start their relationship from scratch.
“We came off the island and it was like, ‘What is your favourite colour?’ We just completely jumped the gun because you’re in this completely different environment where emotions are so high,” she admitted.
“So we’ve just been using the time to really get to know each other and spend as much time together as possible and I am so excited to be able to show him off finally.”
Unfortunately, the pair are currently doing long-distance with Izaya in Queensland and Ziara in Victoria; and according to the Nice Guy (who was also sitting in on the interview) it means “taking trips every weekend”.
“I prefer Melbourne,” Izaya admitted. “It was my first time going there after the show so the weather hit me like crazy. I’m not used to it but it’s been worth it.” Cute!
Ziara told Izaya she loved him BEFORE the finale
During the finale, Izaya told Ziara that he loved her which was super cute and unexpected for us, but apparently not for his bae.
“I was so nervous,” Izaya explained. “Because she said it to me the night before. So, I was like, ‘This is what I needed’. Because leading up to it, I felt like I have to be out there. You know, express how I feel. So when she said it to me first, I was kind of like, wow, I’ve been waiting for this.”
But the cuteness doesn’t stop there. In fact, the minute Izaya spotted Izaya, he knew she was the one for him.
“As soon as she walked out, I was just pouring everything I had straight to her. When she came out in the blue dress walking down, I was like this is the one. I really need her to notice me. So when she pointed me out I was like, this is it. This is life intertwining. She’s the one!”
Ziara was never going to choose Cory OR Caleb… obviously
For those of you who thought Ziara might not see the light and choose Cory Brown (or Caleb Duncan for that matter), you’d be mistaken, because simply put. She was always going to pick Izaya.
When asked if she ever found out the truth behind Cory’s age, she said: “No no to be honest, like I don’t care. I knew my winner from the get-go. It was more just me going through the motions so I never really figured it out.
“You know if it was him [Izaya] lying about his age, then I would have been like get me your passport!”
