Jack Steele and Matt Ford, the duo behind brand are renowned content creators, having amassed 3.8 million followers on social media. Now, they will host a hilarious eight-part Australian original series.

“We are so stoked to be working with Paramount ANZ on this TV show, from the first video we ever made our goal was to always have a TV show and for it to actually be happening is a dream come true,” both guys said in a statement.

“We’ve always believed that laughter is the best medicine, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to spread joy and positivity to even more people through this platform.”

Who are the Inspired Unemployed?

Before gaining huge popularity on social media, Steele and Ford (both in their late twenties) were tradies before heading overseas, documenting their exploits in skits.

“I didn’t want to be a tradie, not one part of me,” Steele previously told 9Honey. “We started it as a resume to get into entertainment. We didn’t know what that meant but we thought f— it, if we can make some videos and get a little bit of traction that will help us do something in this industry.”

The “battlers”, as they have dubbed themselves, are the voice of generation, willing to mock everything and everyone, including themselves.

“I’m walking down the street and I see something happen, or I’ll have an encounter — an awkward handshake or something — and will be thinking, ‘This is great’,” Ford told the ABC in an interview in 2021.

“[I will] take the idea to Jack, and he’ll say if he likes it or not. I’ll then script 80 per cent, then we’ll film it, and he’ll edit. It’s collaborative.”

They also released their very own beer, Better Beer in 2022 with Nick Cogger.

The Inspired Unemployed’s new series is coming Soon to Paramount Australia and New Zealand.
