MAFS 2024: Meet Commonwealth Games athlete turned groom, Ridge Barredo

"Ridge is drawn to women with 'tidy rigs'"

Professional athlete Ridge Barredo is finally ready to find the one to settle down with.

After years of playing the field and lugging around a ‘Playboy persona’, Ridge wants to commit to the right woman and says his parents’ loving marriage is what relationship dreams are made of.

According to his 9Now bio, he can be “loud, vain and cocky. With a collection of ‘situation-ships’ to his name, Ridge is drawn to women with ‘tidy rigs’ who do not take themselves too seriously.”

Ridge has placed his faith in the experts, who will (maybe?) find him the woman of his dreams.

Ridge has been on reality TV before

However, it won’t be Ridge’s first time on reality TV. The 27-year-old appeared on the Australian dating show First Dates almost four years ago.

Plus, he’s also made some other non-reality TV-related appearances. Ridge has competed in two Commonwealth Games as a weightlifter.

In the 2018 games on the Gold Coast, he came 8th in Weightlifting and in the 2022 games in Birmingham, UK, he came 5th.

“5th place at my 2nd Commonwealth Games. 8 weeks ago I hurt my hip in training and had thoughts about pulling out and not competing because I wouldn’t be at 100%. I’m thankful to everyone in my corner who willed me to compete today. I did it for them #trainhardstayhumble,” Ridge wrote on Instgram in 2022.

What does Ridge do for work?

As well as being a professional weight lifter, Ridge works as a psychiatric nurse. He graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Western Sydney University.
