Married at First Sight (MAFS) star Gia Fleur has revealed that she was uninvited to an event hosted by her former cast-mate Julia Vogl‘s after another contestant said she wouldn’t feel comfortable with her attending.
In a TikTok video, Gia explained that she initially received an invitation to a launch party in Melbourne that Julia was holding for her card game Mindgasm, and said she and her boyfriend Alan Wallace had agreed to attend. However, two days before the event, Julia messaged her, saying she’d made the decision to “withdraw” Gia’s invitation over some “concerns” raised by “attendees”.
Gia told Chattr in an exclusive interview that she believes “Rachel, Bec or Rebecca would be the ones going”, hinting that she believes one of the three MAFS contestants asked Julia to cut her from the list. Rebecca told Chattr that she has been unwell and won’t be attending the event.
Chattr reached out to Rachel, Bec and Rebecca for comment on Gia’s claims. Rebecca told us that she had been unwell and wouldn’t be attending the event, while Bec confirmed she couldn’t make it either. Rachel hadn’t responded by the time of publication.
“I’m currently in Sydney and I’m not attending the event in Melbourne tonight, so it wasn’t me who asked for Gia not to attend,” she said.
“I don’t know who has requested that Gia not attend the event, so I wouldn’t want to speculate or point the finger at anyone.”
Julia told Chattr that her choice to uninvite Gia wasn’t personal, saying it was a difficult decision she felt she had to make.
“It wasn’t an easy or enjoyable message to send, and it wasn’t personal between Gia and I. The circumstances meant I needed to do what was best for the Mindgasm launch party,” she said. “I have no personal problems or issues with Gia.”
Gia revealed that she didn’t blame Julia, and shared the screenshot of the message she sent her, as well as her own reply in the TikTok.
Bec weighs in on Julia’s decision to withdraw Gia’s invite
In an exclusive interview, Bec told Chattr that she believes Julia had every right to change her mind about inviting Gia.
“What I do think is important to acknowledge, however, is that if people are uncomfortable with Gia attending certain events or being around them, that is ultimately a consequence of the behaviours and interactions that have taken place, both during the show and since filming wrapped,” she said.
“Everyone is entitled to make their own decisions about who they feel comfortable having at their events or in their spaces. I can’t speak for whoever made this particular request, but I think it’s important that the wider context is considered rather than assuming that one particular person is responsible.”
Gia says her co-stars need to ‘move on’ from MAFS drama
Gia — who’s about 16 weeks pregnant — said she was recently at an event with all of the MAFS cast and there wasn’t any drama, so she doesn’t know why she’s been targeted all of a sudden.
“I think people need to let go of the petty bulls**t. It’s been over a year. Who cares? No one is going pregnant and going to start some stuff,” she said in her TikTok.
“To be honest, it says more about that person or those people [who didn’t want me there] than it does about me, because I have no problem being anywhere with anybody at any event because I just know my aura and my vibe is just like no bulls**t, no drama. I will walk in and be polite, and then go to the other side of the room, so that I don’t make somebody uncomfortable.”

Gia said she doesn’t hold it against Julia for choosing to uninvite her to the event, but instead whoever was against her attending.
“As much as these people say that I was a bully or whatnot, this is also bullying to purposely exclude somebody from something and make the person hosting the event feel so uncomfortable that she’d had to uninvite my partner and me because other people were saying that they don’t want me there. I just think like that’s just petty. It’s just stupid. Grow up.
“People can move on and grow from and learn from experiences and just be normal human beings. And I just think segregating people and excluding them purposely from events because you don’t want to see them, like, stop, like, come on. I just think that is really petty, and you need to grow up.”
