Rachel Gilmore and Steven Danyluk were one of the most popular couples matched on Married at First Sight Australia 2026, tying the knot in the season premiere.
Their relationship developed into one of the experiment’s stronger romances, with the pair choosing to continue their relationship at Final Vows.
However, their romance lasted only around three weeks after filming ended. Shortly before the MAFS Reunion was filmed, Steven ended things, telling Rachel he didn’t think he could be the man she needed. Rachel later said his demanding work schedule and living in different states made continuing their relationship too difficult.
But according to a bunch of random Facebook pages — Rach and Stevo are not just back together, they’re getting married… for real, this time. Bizarre images of the two contestants clearly made with AI have been circulating widely online in the past fortnight, and some MAFS fans have been led to believe that this couple are back on.

Anyone with basic knowledge of AI could see this is fake news, but some MAFS fans have been left confused over these deceiving posts. It’s part of a growing wave of AI-generated misinformation spreading across social media, including convincing fake photographs, videos and fabricated news posts.
Chattr spoke to Rachel and Steven to clear up all these baffling claims.
Married at First Sight’s Rachel and Steven exclusively tell Chattr whether the hoax is true
Both Rachel and Steven have confirmed to Chattr that none of these posts are factually correct. “These pop up all the time. No, not true,” Rachel told Chattr. “My friends send it to me and I laugh.”
“This is all fake,” Steven confirmed to Chattr, revealing that “a lot of people” had sent him the posts.
As for why this particular hoax has exploded online, Steven doesn’t know. “No idea, to be honest. I’ve seen these posts and articles from so many random media entertainment pages,” he said, suggesting it was AI or clickbait.
“It’s everywhere — I’m kind of surprised how viral it’s gone. I’ve seen them heaps before but not like this.” Steven is considering addressing the hoax on his Instagram to “set the record straight” once and for all.
The MAFS groom went on to detail that not only are he and Rachel not back together, but the exes are still not speaking. “Me and Rachel have not talked about it,” Steven told Chattr.
“To be honest, I have no idea what Rachel thinks of me — we don’t talk.”
