“Come down here, clown”: Kyle Sandilands furiously explodes at Australian Idol audience member

"Shut your pie hole"

Kyle Sandilands has furiously shut down a heckler who called him out during Tuesday night’s episode of Australian Idol.

During the segment, Isaac McCallum performed a rendition of Lukas Graham’s 7 Years, but he forgot some of the words. Kyle was clearly not pleased with the misstep and rolled his eyes and looked disgruntled throughout the performance.

After Isaac had finished, Kyle started grilling Isaac, much to the audience’s dismay.

“How does it feel singing the song with half the words missing,” he sarcastically asked Isaac who confessed he was just nervous.

Not happy with the shock jock’s negative comments towards Isaac, a fan in the audience screamed out: “Kyle, you suck!”.

The outcry really got under Kyle’s skin, who angrily snapped back.

“What? You think you know better, come down here, clown. Come down here and say what you think, you think it’s great? Then shut your pie hole,” he told the audience member.

Did Isaac make it through the round?

Not exactly, but he didn’t get sent home either. Isaac was put on notice, which means that he’s at risk of leaving the competition. At the end of the solo round, the weakest three singers, out of those put on notice, will be eliminated from the competition.

But it wasn’t all three judges who were convinced Isaac should be put on notice. While Kyle was certain about it, Marcia Hines said that she didn’t agree.

“We can’t have people that did a pretty good job be put on notice, and Isaac gets to go through,” Kyle told his fellow judge who eventually agreed.

While Judge Amy Shark didn’t directly have input about Isacc being put on notice, she did have some compliments for the trolley boy.

“You’re a real diamond in the rough, and no matter how many times you’ve had a few fumbles, there’s still something so unique about you and when you’re in it, your voice is just mesmerising,” she said.

Australian Idol continues at 7.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Channel 7 and 7plus.
