Guy Ritchie’s box office victory The Gentlemen from 2019 is a hard act to follow, but he’s back for round two with a spin-off series of the same name, starring a hugely successful cast.

For the uninitiated (how?), the movie The Gentlemen was directed by Guy Ritchie and was released in 2019 and received rave reviews from critics, and was also a commercial success.

Now, Guy is returning with a spin-off TV series, that will be released exclusively on Netflix.

The Gentlemen TV series will be available to stream from March 7 on Netflix.

Who was in the original The Gentlemen movie?

Just like the follow-up series, the original cast was stacked. It included Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant.

The new series also features a lot of big names. Amongst them are Theo James as Eddie Horniman “the Duke” , Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass “the Boss” Daniel Ings as Freddy Horniman “the Liability” Vinnie Jones as Geoff Seacombe “the Gamekeeper” Joely Richardson as Lady Sabrina “the Matriarch” and Giancarlo Esposito as Uncle Stan “the American”.

What is The Gentlemen (2024) about?

In The Gentlemen, Eddie Horniman unexpectedly inherits his father’s substantial rural estate, only to uncover its connection to a sprawling cannabis empire. To complicate matters further, a cadre of unsavoury characters from Britain’s criminal underworld is eager to claim a share of the illicit operation.

Focused on freeing his family from their clutches, Eddie embarks on a risky game with the gangsters. However, as he immerses himself in the criminal realm, an unexpected affinity for this dark world begins to emerge.

The series unfolds within the same universe as The Gentlemen film, featuring an entirely new cast that blends Hollywood talent with iconic figures from British film and TV. This television adaptation delves deeper into the criminal landscape, providing viewers with a fresh narrative to immerse themselves in.
