With Season 8 of Selling Sunset just landing on our screens, it’s safe to say that we’re serious fans of Chrishell Stause. The actress-turned-real estate agent is officially dipping her toes back into the acting world – and Australia is officially being bestowed the biggest gift of all, with the star joining the next season of Neighbours.
Yep, our favourite agent is officially getting the keys to a new place on Ramsay Street, where she will play Yasmine Shields, a “glamorous and successful businesswoman”.
But apart from that, there’s little we actually know about Stause’s new role on the iconic television show. But don’t fret, we’ve popped our sleuthing hats on and have uncovered everything we know about Chrishell Stause’s role on Neighbours.
1. She won’t be putting on the Australian accent
We know the Australian accent is one of the hardest ones out there to get right (and when it’s wrong, it’s very wrong). But thankfully, Stause won’t be putting herself through that challenge, with the star revealing that her character will be American.
“For everyone’s sake, I will be playing an American,” Stause shared on an Instagram story. “My Aussie accent needs some work.”
With her now being officially shacked up with Aussie legend G-Flip, we might see her Australian accent improve too!
2. She’ll play a “glamorous businesswoman”
The name of Stause’s character has been revealed as Yasmine Shields. The show describes her as “a glamorous and successful businesswoman in pursuit of an exciting new opportunity.”
Honestly, her character sounds pretty similar to her IRL self – and that makes us even more excited.
3. G-Flip has sneakily shared some extra details
Stause’s partner G-Flip spoke during a gig in July, sharing that Stause was staying in Australia while she was filming Neighbours. The musician also dropped a few extra details about the new Neighbours character, adding that she was a “lighting tech”.
“She’s a lighting tech, which is… whoever wrote that script, crazy job to give Chrishell as a lighting tech,” G-Flip said, as captured in a TikTok video. “Like, the hottest lighting tech I’ve ever seen in my whole life.”

While a lot of the other details are being kept top secret at the moment, we do know that Stause began filming in July 2024.
While no air dates have been officially announced, Paramount says that the new season of Neighbours is set to hit our screens in “late 2024”. Not soon enough, methinks.
