70’s rock and Heartbreak: Everything you need to know about Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six

There will be 24 original songs!

The highly-anticipated series Daisy Jones & the Six is ready to rock!

Based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the musical-drama series from Amazon Studios (and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company), is premiering on March 3 on Prime Video. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to binge the series, as episodes will be released weekly up until March 24.

What is Daisy Jones & the Six about?

If you’re not familiar with the book (or the awesome Audible version) the series follows the original story of the iconic 1970s band Daisy Jones & the Six, fronted by two feuding yet charismatic lead singers, Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) and Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin).

The official synopsis reads: Drawn together by personal and artistic chemistry, their complicated musical partnership catapulted the band from obscurity to unbelievable fame. Then, after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they suddenly called it quits. Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth.

The novel is written in a documentary style and we’re anticipating the same for the series, jumping between doco and storytelling.

Who is in the cast of Daisy Jones & the Six?

Alongside Keough and Claflin, the cast includes: Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne, Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rojas, Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, and Tom Wright as Teddy Price. Timothy Olyphant also stars as Rod Reyes.

What will the music be like?

The trailer, which was released on February 16, features Look At Us Now (Honeycomb) one of 24 original songs written exclusively for the series and recorded by the talented cast.

The original music will also be released by Atlantic Records during the rollout of the series.

Stream Daisy Jones & the Six from March 3 on Prime Video.
