After becoming one of the most talked-about duos on The Traitors Australia 2026, the reign of twin brothers Luke and Josh Packham has come to an end following Luke’s elimination in last night’s episode.
In an exclusive interview with Chattr after his exit, Luke dismissed fan theories that the pair had a secret strategy before entering the game.
“There was no plan,” Luke insisted.
“There were these theories that we’d be able to cheat or help each other, but you can’t do that in The Traitors.”
In fact, the only conversation they had before entering the game was agreeing there would be no hard feelings if one of them had to eliminate the other.
“The only thing we said to each other was, ‘It’s okay to murder the other one’,” he recalled.
“If one of us was a Traitor, it was open game. We were never going to hold it against each other if one of us took the other out. That was our only pre-discussion.”
Luke admitted it could have made for compelling television had one of them been selected as a Traitor, but that scenario never eventuated.
Did they ever suspect each other?
Luke said he never believed Josh was a Traitor because he recognised how relaxed his brother seemed from the very first night.
“I know my brother well,” he said.
“We’re quite anxious people in real life, so I could see he was comfortable. If he was a Traitor, I think he would’ve had itchy feet and I would’ve sensed that.”
Luke did reveal, however, that Josh wasn’t quite as convinced.
According to Luke, his brother became suspicious after noticing him go “hot flush” during one of the early Round Tables.
“He actually thought it was a reaction from me being picked because he knows what I’m like,” Luke said.
“He did have suspicions on me for the first couple of nights, but I never did on him.”
The advice Luke gave Josh before leaving The Traitors
Before his banishment, Luke said he had only a brief opportunity to speak with Josh, but he made sure to leave him with one piece of advice.
“My advice to him was just to try and take it easy from here on in,” he told Chattr.
“Don’t throw your neck out like I did because if you’re wrong, you’re gonna go.
“Throw a couple of names around and try to get other people talking instead of yourself. The room’s getting smaller.”
While their time in the castle has now come to an end, Luke said the brothers stayed true to the one promise they made before the game began: that if one of them had to turn on the other, there would be no bad blood once the cameras stopped rolling.
The Traitors airs Tuesday and Wednesday on Channel 10 and 10Play.
