As The Block 2026 edges closer to its highly anticipated auction, fans are already placing their bets on which team will walk away with the biggest payday.
While the results remain under wraps, viewers have been busy dissecting everything from the homes’ layouts to their land sizes, reserve prices and even the auction order, with plenty of theories emerging on Reddit.
Here’s who fans think has the best shot at taking out the season.
House 5 is an early favourite
A number of fans believe House 5, father-daughter duo Rick and Tayla, could surprise everyone, particularly after the pair’s reserve price was revealed to be lower than some of the competition.
One viewer argued the combination of a more affordable reserve and a spacious design could work in their favour.
“House 5 will win it now that they have that discount on reserve. Deserved? Probably not, besides the fact Rick worked his a** off. It’s also not over the top and packed with dining tables and chairs everywhere. People want space and House 5 has space. Good luck to all of them though!”

Others also pointed to the home’s generous block size as a major advantage.
“Houses 4 and 5 have a big advantage with land size. Houses 1 to 3 have the views but are back-to-front house and garden-wise. I think it will be out of 4 and 5,” one person wrote.
It comes after a bombshell report alleged House 5 required help rebuilding their house after filming had wrapped.
House 1 also has plenty of supporters
Not everyone is backing House 5, however, with House 1’s Jolene and Adam also attracting plenty of support from viewers looking at the homes purely from a real estate perspective.
One Redditor wrote:
“I think House 1 will win because it is well put together and has the best positioning and views. I’m not picking that based on my like or dislike of the contestants. I’m just trying to think of it purely in real estate terms.”

Another agreed, simply predicting:
“House 1. But I want the girls to win. As long as it’s not House 2.”
Others believe if House 1 wins, it could once again come down to one familiar bidder.
“Either House 2 gets purchased by The Candyman (or his proxy) or House 1 gets purchased by Danny. I think it will come down to which one is latest in the auction order,” one person wrote.
Some fans are hoping the girls can pull off an upset
Despite mixed reactions to their styling throughout the season, some viewers are still hoping Courtney and Sev can come out on top.
“I’d love the girls to win overall. They’re the only ones who have taken some risks, in my opinion,” one person wrote.
Another fan predicted they could still sell, although perhaps not for a huge amount above reserve.

“I think they will, but not by much over reserve. Danny will grab it for the depreciation value. I’m not expecting much more action,” read one reply.
Others defended the team’s journey throughout the competition, arguing criticism from viewers hasn’t always been fair.
“The girls haven’t been bullies and have copped a lot of criticism because the judges liked their rooms. They played the competition, invested heavily and backed their landscaper. Their house will still appeal to plenty of buyers,” a viewer wrote.
Auction order could decide everything
Several fans think the winner won’t necessarily come down to the best home, but rather where each property falls in the auction order.
One viewer explained:
“Depends on auction order. People will fight over the top three because of the views. If they all go first, the last two might not have any bidders left. But if Houses 4 and 5 go first, they could struggle because everyone is waiting for Houses 1, 2 and 3.”
Others believe outside buyers could once again have a huge influence, while one fan even compared this season’s House 2 to a previous The Block success story.
“I reckon House 2. I’m rewatching Season 14 and getting similar vibes from Hayden and Sara,” a fan predicted.
Could nobody win?
Not everyone is convinced the auctions will deliver blockbuster results.
One fan suggested there’s a genuine chance multiple properties could fail to sell.
“I would not be surprised if none sold. But House 4 might make it across the line,” they shared.
Another agreed, saying a string of passed-in properties is a real possibility.
“House 1, but all passing in is absolutely possible. It would be terrible for the contestants, but it might force Channel Nine to do some heavy thinking before the next series,” one person predicted.
Whether fans are right or wildly off the mark, one thing is certain: The Block auction is shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable in years.
The Block airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
