Married At First Sight (MAFS) star Carina Mirabile is officially making the leap from reality TV to scripted acting, revealing she’s landed roles in both NCIS: Sydney and an upcoming feature film.

After winning over audiences on MAFS, Carina has shared that her focus has shifted firmly towards building a career in film and television, with several exciting projects already under her belt.

Carina shared the news on her TikTok with a vlog where the star arrived to the NCIS: Sydney set at 5am.

“It’s 5:05am and I’m just rocking up for set at NCIS: Sydney,” she said in the video, admitting she’s running a few minutes late. “Wish me luck, I’m so tired.”

The video cuts to several moments on set across Sydney where the series is being filmed, including on location at a cafe.

Her next update features her resting on the couch after a long day of filming.

“I’m in four different scenes, but that’s all I can say or I’ll get cancelled,” she joked.

She went on to reveal that “you’re not allowed to film anything, you’re not allowed [to have] your phones, really, so hopefully they don’t watch this”, adding that her intention is to promote the series.

“It’s a form of marketing for the network and for the production,” she said.

Carina Mirabile announces NCIS: Sydney and new movie

Speaking exclusively to Chattr, Carina expressed her excitement at landing a role in such an iconic series. While she remained somewhat tight-lipped about exactly what viewers can expect, she hinted there’s plenty more to come.

“It was such an exciting experience being on set with the NCIS! I was fortunate enough to be featured in Season 3, which was such a special stepping stone for me, and we’ve also recently been back on set filming for Season 4,” she said.

“I can’t say too much about NCIS just yet, super confidential, but I’m very excited for everyone to see what’s coming!”

The MAFS alum also revealed she has been cast in a lead role in the upcoming film Passport Bros, which is expected to begin filming in Sydney later this year or early next year.

According to Carina, the opportunity came about in a way she never expected.

“The writer, director and production team actually approached my agent directly and told them they had specifically written the role with me in mind after seeing me on MAFS, which was such an incredible honour,” she shared.

“To have a creative team see me on reality television and then envision me in a scripted role they had created was a really special moment for me, and it gave me even more confidence that this is the direction I want to pursue.”

Which reality shows would Carina do next?

While Carina says she’s still open to returning to reality television one day, she admitted acting has become her biggest passion.

“I’m incredibly grateful for every opportunity and for the experience of working alongside such a talented cast and crew,” she said.

“I’ve always loved reality television and I’m definitely open to continuing to explore opportunities in that space and, of course, get on another show, certainly not another dating show [laughs],” she added.

“Actually, I lied. Love Island US would be a crack-up, and an experience to say the least. An Aussie Italian on US TV? How iconic! But over the past year my passion has really transitioned towards film and television and building my career as an actor.”

Looking ahead, Carina says she’s determined to continue honing her craft and embracing new opportunities.

She concluded: “I’m really excited to keep backing myself, developing my craft and taking on bigger and more challenging roles. I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have come from MAFS and for how that experience has opened doors I never expected, while also allowing me to discover a genuine passion for acting.”
