Seven — the home of MKR, Farmer Wants a Wife and The Voice Australia — has officially unveiled its plans for 2027, and while a handful of reality favourites won’t be making a return, the network has also cleared up the future of several fan-favourite formats.
The announcements came as part of Seven’s annual Upfronts presentation, where networks reveal what’s coming to screens in the year ahead.
While some titles have quietly disappeared from the schedule, others have been given a vote of confidence after months of speculation.
Is The Voice Australia coming back in 2027?
One of the biggest question marks heading into the Upfronts surrounded The Voice Australia.
Back in August, TV Blackbox reported that industry sources believed the singing competition was unlikely to return in 2027, with Seven reportedly considering shifting the show’s budget towards another major reality franchise.
At the time, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! was tipped as the frontrunner to fill that gap, which turned out to be accurate.

The speculation followed reports that Seven was weighing up its reality slate, with expensive entertainment formats competing for limited programming budgets.
However, despite the rumours, Seven has stopped short of pulling the plug.
“The 2026 season was a huge success, and we are reviewing our options as part of our ongoing programming strategy,” a Seven spokesperson told Chattr.
The update comes after The Voice recorded year-on-year audience growth of 17% in 2026, suggesting the franchise still has plenty of life left in it, even if its long-term future remains under review.
For now, fans will have to wait a little longer for an official renewal.
Is My Reno Rules coming back in 2027?
While The Voice remains in limbo, Seven has confirmed that My Reno Rules won’t be returning next year.
“My Reno Rules will not return in 2027,” the network confirmed.
The renovation competition had already been facing an uncertain future, with reports earlier this year suggesting it had been funded externally rather than directly through Seven’s programming budget.
Now, its fate has officially been sealed.
Is SAS Australia coming back in 2027?
Fans hoping for another SAS: Australia v England showdown are also out of luck.
Seven confirmed the recent SAS: Australia v England series was never intended to become an ongoing format.
“[SAS: Australia v England] was a one-off acquisition from the UK series Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which airs on Channel 4 in the UK,” the network said.
That means there are currently no plans for another international edition.
Is First Dates coming back in 2027?
It’s not all bad news, though.
After some viewers questioned whether First Dates had quietly disappeared, Seven confirmed there are still more episodes waiting in the wings.
“We have more First Dates episodes to roll out in 2027,” the network shared.

While the network hasn’t confirmed exactly when they’ll air, romantics can rest easy knowing the dating series isn’t over just yet.
With My Reno Rules officially gone, SAS: Australia v England confirmed as a one-off and The Voice still under review, Seven’s 2027 reality slate is looking a little different. But with First Dates returning and The Voice still in contention, not every fan favourite has sung its final song.
Plus, we all have the revamped I’m A Celeb to look forward to!
