Big Brother Australia icon Reggie Bird has publicly shut down a viral Facebook claim about her family, branding it “absolutely bullsh*t” after a post falsely suggested her father wanted her sister Anita Bird to use the show to launch a media career.
Anita is currently competing on the 2026 season of Big Brother Australia, and Reggie wasn’t about to let the rumour go unanswered.
The Facebook post, which Reggie later shared to her Instagram, claimed the author had watched a livestream featuring Anita and Reggie’s father, alleging he had patted Reggie on the head and said he’d “like this one to get more into media”.
The post went on to speculate that the Bird family was “training the kids to make money from media”, before concluding that it “just seemed so ick”.
Reggie quickly called out the claims on Instagram, revealing the story was impossible because her father is currently living in a care home in Tasmania.
“So this is absolutely bullsh*t as our dad is in a care home with our mum in Tassie and he has cirrhosis of the liver,” she wrote.
“The amount of crap people say online and others believe it… Those that know us know this is absolutely false information!
“Go Neats. I hope she just enjoys this crazy awesome experience that is Big Brother Australia.”
Reggie Bird calls out troll who has targeted her in the past
Speaking exclusively to Chattr, Reggie said the person behind the post has targeted her before using fake accounts.
“Oh people are absolutely horrible,” Reggie said.
“They were referring to my Facebook Live the other night with Rod and Rossie.
“The troll has trolled me before. She has several fake accounts and makes up bullsh*t!”
While Anita continues her Big Brother Australia journey inside the house, Reggie has made it clear she’s focused on supporting her younger sister — and isn’t letting online rumours distract from the experience.
Big Brother airs 7:30pm weeknights and 7pm Sundays on 10, with the live stream available via 10 Play.
