TV personality Mel Tracina will be back in her hosting shoes while Big Brother himself shared a message about reopening his doors. “Another year, another group of housemates who think they can outsmart me. How adorable,” he said.
“Australia, I hope you’re ready, because I’ve been watching, I’ve been planning, and let’s just say… this year’s surprises will be my finest work yet. Welcome back to my House.”
Last year, Australia crowned Coco Beeby as their favourite housemate. For 2026, a brand-new batch of housemates will be hoping to win over the Aussie public and take home a cash prize.
Network 10 has said to “expect even more twists, unexpected friendships, hilarity, tantrums, and maybe a showmance or two!” The network hasn’t announced a start date yet or when auditions will kick off, but teased for fans to “keep your eyes peeled for more updates very soon.”

Mel didn’t fully confirm Big Brother Australia 2026, but given the success of the 2025 season, it sounded like it was definitely on the cards. “So, what do you reckon, do you want to do it again next year?” she asked the screaming crowd at Dreamworld during the finale.
Casting for Big Brother Australia 2026 is not yet open, but the 2025 season drew huge ratings for Channel 10. The show’s grand finale was the biggest since 2021, and was the network’s biggest reality show since 2023.
Big Brother Australia racked up 161 million total social media views across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and the TV show reached 6.6 million total viewers.
