My Kitchen Rules’ resident ‘classy bogans’ Alisha and Deanne haven’t had a particularly easy time on the season so far.

The friends have quickly found themselves at the centre of My Kitchen Rules 2026’s biggest drama. They clashed with Jane and Shane, accusing the couple of acting as though they were “better” than them and taking the competition too seriously.

Things escalated during Angus and Simon’s Instant Restaurant, when other contestants laughed at some of Alisha and Deanne’s mispronunciations. After a debate with Tiffany over the word ‘acid’, Alisha felt she was being mocked and singled out, eventually storming away from the table with Deanne following her outside.

In an exclusive interview Chattr, the friends opened up about the ‘unseen’ moments that led to this blow-up — and claim they weren’t treated overly kindly by their co-stars from the start.

“Obviously people are only seeing the snippets of what is put together. But these hours are [a] very long time of filming, so there’s a lot being said that doesn’t get shown,” Alisha said.

“Even the first night, it was little comments that were thrown like, ‘Well, do you girls know what that is? Do you know what this is?’ It was always thrown at us because we’ve said we don’t know these words and stuff. It was already putting us down quite a lot. Then by the second night, there was a lot of stuff that had happened at the beginning of the night that wasn’t aired.”

Alisha went on to admit there was an overall feeling from the women that some of the other teams were mocking their intelligence. “Then the second night, it was just more things just thrown about how we don’t understand this. Or saying you girls wouldn’t know because you just haven’t travelled — they were just making us feel like we were absolute losers.” Nasty stuff!

My Kitchen Rules friends Alisha and Deanne reveal what really happened over ‘acid’ argument

Deanne told Chattr that Alisha’s outburst didn’t come out of nowhere. “I think that’s the worst part. That the lead-up to that [was cut]. It just looked like there was a comment made, and we sooked about it,” she said. “There is so much viewers do not see; so many comments that were thrown at us.”

Alisha added that it was judge Colin Fassnidge’s words that finally pushed her over the edge, prompting her walkout. “He looked straight at me when he said, ‘Could have used a bit more acid’, and was trying to just rub it in more. It was like we were dumb. Just always putting us in that light, like we’re absolutely stupid.”

My Kitchen Rules airs on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
