Just when you thought we’d seen the last of celebrities eating mystery organs and screaming through bug-filled challenges, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has pulled off the ultimate comeback.

After Network Ten announced earlier this year that it had officially axed the long-running reality series, many assumed the jungle had closed for good.

But plot twist: Seven has swooped in, revived the beloved format and is bringing it back bigger than ever in 2027.

Who are the new I’m A Celebrity Australia hosts?

The iconic reality competition will make its debut on Seven and 7plus in 2027, complete with an all-new celebrity cast, plenty of terrifying Bushtucker-style trials and a fresh hosting duo ready to stir up chaos from the South African jungle.

Leading the charge are Aussie singer and radio host Ricki-Lee and comedian Jim Jefferies, who’ll be guiding — and no doubt roasting — the unlucky celebs as they battle creepy crawlies, questionable food and life without their creature comforts.

The move marks a major shake-up for one of reality TV’s biggest franchises, with Seven promising fans all the camp drama and emotional moments they’ve come to expect, alongside brand-new twists and surprises.

For Ricki-Lee, the gig is something of a dream come true.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be heading to Africa for the very first time to host one of the most iconic shows in the world,” she told Seven.

“I’m such a massive fan and it’s a huge honour. And to be doing it alongside the incredible Jim Jefferies makes it even better!

“For years I’ve watched on from the comfort of my couch and now I get to experience it up close and personal — while standing comfortably off to the side with Jim. Watching our favourite celebrities squirm their way through some absolutely horrific challenges is gonna be a wild ride.”

Meanwhile, Jim Jefferies seems more than happy to spend a few weeks watching famous people suffer.

“When Seven asked if I’d like to spend weeks in the African jungle watching celebrities eat strange things and embarrass themselves on national television, I couldn’t say yes fast enough,” he joked.

“It sounds like my ideal holiday. And who better to go into the wild with than Ricki-Lee. I can’t wait!”

Seven is promising a fresh take on the fan favourite

Seven’s Director of Content, Unscripted, Majella Hay, said pairing Ricki-Lee and Jim was all part of giving the franchise a new lease on life.

“I’m A Celebrity is a format built to be talked about, and with Ricki-Lee and Jim Jefferies as hosts, the show will be impossible to ignore,” she said.

“Individually, Ricki-Lee and Jim couldn’t be more different but that’s exactly what makes this pairing so exciting. Together, they’ll bring a fresh, unexpected energy to the jungle that Australians are going to love!”

With a brand-new network, new hosts and a fresh batch of celebrities preparing to face their fears, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is officially back from the dead.

Now the only question is… who’s brave (or desperate) enough to sign up?
