The close but confusing friendship of JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes during their time on Celebrity Big Brother UK 2025 generated a lot of headlines, after JoJo was accused of emotionally cheating on her then-partner, Australian influencer Kath Ebbs.
With JoJo dumping Kath at the Big Brother UK after party, she and Chris have now given an interview to ITV’s This Morning show, denying that there is a romantic spark between them.
“He’s a great guy, it is platonic, life is life, I don’t know the future of anything. But I’m really grateful for our dynamic and our bond that we have. And whatever life does, life will do,” JoJo said.
JoJo and Chris were tight on the show, often seen cuddling and sharing a bed, which led to fans accusing the American dancer and singer of cheating on Kath, who she had been dating since November 2024.
“I don’t care how old you are or how confused you are, you know how to treat a human being and what’s right from wrong. The way she did her partner dirty on live TV is soul-crushing for them!” one person said on TikTok.
People on social media quickly started comparing the situation to another iconic Big Brother storyline, but one from our very own shores: the romance of Tully Smyth and Anthony Drew (known as Drew) from Big Brother Australia 2013.

What happened between Big Brother’s Tully and Drew?
Tully and Drew captivated the Australian audience after they developed a deep emotional connection during the series. The one problem? Tully had a girlfriend at the time, Tahlia, which caused mass criticism from viewers on social media as people accused her of being unfaithful.
Tahlia then broke up with Tully publicly on Twitter as the show was airing.

Tully was evicted from the Big Brother house before Drew, but came back for a memorable “freeze” challenge. In the challenge, when the games-master said “freeze” the contestants had to obey. When Drew was partaking in the challenge, Tully walked in, kissed him, and whispered, “By the way, I’m single” in his ear before walking back out.
The pair went public with their relationship after the show wrapped up but split shortly after, with Tully once citing that she was “all in” with the relationship but that Drew wasn’t.
They reunited for a podcast episode in 2020 on Tully’s podcast Too Much Tully.
“I moved to Melbourne, I was all in. He wasn’t,” Tully said. “And then we had the additional issue of Drew suddenly being a mega hot, superstar model, and his head… your head just being fucking enormous suddenly.”
Drew added, “It’s a double-edged sword, without it [Big Brother] we would have never met each other, but what it turned us into made us not work.”

In the #Drully reunion fans had been waiting for, nearly a decade after they became household names Tully and Drew reunited for the 2022 season of Big Brother Australia, which saw new housemates compete against ‘Big Brother Royalty’.
Drew had already formed a romantic relationship with ‘new’ housemate Sam Manovski before Tully’s arrival, with Tully expressing surprise at the situation upon entering the house. “Is this actually happening? Already? Week one?” she said, upon finding out Drew and Sam were ‘dating’.
The two both clarified that they had no romantic feelings for each other, with Tully dating someone on the outside and Drew emphasising they had become good friends in the years following their first Big Brother experience.
Tully even opted to vote for Drew in one elimination, saying, “I still cared what happened to Drew, as my friend of 9 years… but I also wanted him to leave so I could finally stand on my own two feet.”
Where do Tully and Drew stand now?
While little is known about how close their friendship is now, the pair still follow each other on social media. Tully even commented on Drew’s engagement video with his fiancée, Bianca, in September 2024, saying, “This is so bloody cute!” and Tully and Bianca also follow each other on Instagram.
It looks like all’s well that ends well!
