Dancing with the Stars Recap Episode 4: OMG! Mary Coustas’ Effie makes a hilarious appearance

Plus three stars were sent through to the Grand Finale!

It’s episode five of Dancing with the Stars Australia 2023 and three celebs have twirled their way straight through to the Grand Finale while Mary Coustas’ Effie makes an appearance!

During the episode, Emily Weir, Coustas, Paulini Curunevali, Gavin Wanganeen, James Magnussen and Issa Schultz performed, vying for a spot in the final episode.

Paulini kicked off the show with a Prom-inspired jive with the judges unanimously voting her through to the Finale.

James’ inspirational Viennese Waltz was next and was filled with jaw-dropping lifts.

Issa performed a Paso Doble, with the fan favourite bringing the house down! Unfortunately, Todd McKenney thought it was “humourous” and “cute”. Which no one wants to hear during a Paso!

Then, Home and Away star Emily took to the floor for an energetic Quickstep, proving there’s not one dance she can’t do!

Performing as her alter-ego Effie, Mary’ stole the show with a passionate Paso Doble.

And, overcoming a back injury, Gavin danced an inspiring Rumba.

The Verdict

With the judges and audience votes combined, Gavin, Issa and James were eliminated while Emily, Mary and Paulini were sent through to the Grand Finale.
