As if he hadn’t already won the heart of the Australian public, MasterChef Australia 2023’s Declan Cleary made a gallant move by helping competitor Theo Loizou with his dish during July 11’s Pressure Test, earning him a flood of praise on Twitter.
During the feel-good episode, Theo, Declan, and Rhiannon Anderson were tasked with recreating four plates of a dish created by acclaimed Bennelong chef and restaurant owner Peter Gilmore, with the cook of the least favourite dish eliminated from the competition.
Throughout the cook, Theo struggled by removing the membrane from the squid he was cooking. Although Rhiannon tried to help him from her own bench, it wasn’t until Declan headed over and showed him the way, that Theo was able to grasp the dish.
What a legend, Declan’s come to the rescue! 😍 #MasterChefAU pic.twitter.com/KtSsLZpign
