MasterChef Australia couple Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary have addressed speculation that their relationship is on the rocks after fans began questioning why the pair had seemingly disappeared from each other’s social media.
The rumours gathered steam after eagle-eyed followers noticed Sarah and Declan had stopped regularly featuring on one another’s Instagram accounts following their European holiday.
Fans also pointed out that Sarah didn’t publicly like Declan’s Father’s Day post on September 6 — his first Father’s Day since welcoming twin daughters Claudia and Charlotte on Christmas Eve — and Sarah herself didn’t appear in the post.
However, according to New Idea, there’s no truth to the split speculation.
Are MasterChef’s Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary still together?
Speaking to the publication, an insider claimed Declan had already dismissed the rumours when asked by friends whether the couple had separated.
“Definitely not,” Declan reportedly said.
The source added that the pair have deliberately become more private online, rather than drifting apart.
“Their lives might look separate from the outside, but behind closed doors they are very much together. They are making plans, looking for a home and building their future as a family,” the insider claimed.
“There is no split. They have just realised that not every part of their relationship needs to be performed on social media.”

The couple are still planning their future together
While Sarah is expected to spend much of her time overseas until October, New Idea reports the couple remain as “thick as thieves” while raising their daughters.
“Sometimes the girls travel with Sarah, and sometimes they remain with Declan,” the insider explained.
“They are working it out week by week and doing whatever makes the most sense for the babies.”
The source added that Declan has taken on extra parenting responsibilities while Sarah pursues career opportunities abroad.
“He and Sarah are operating as a team, even when work temporarily puts them in different countries.”
According to the publication, the pair are also searching for a larger home in Melbourne where they can settle long-term with their family.
“They need more space, and they want somewhere that feels like a proper long-term family base,” the insider said.
“Melbourne is home for them. Sarah’s commitments will always take her overseas, particularly to India, but this is where they want to put down roots.”
The publication added that Sarah’s teenage son, Phoenix, has also been an important factor in the family’s decision to remain based in Melbourne.
Meanwhile, Declan has continued expanding his own career through brand partnerships, travel collaborations and animal welfare work, with the source claiming he would also be interested in returning to reality TV.
“Declan thought Alvin Quah did a fantastic job representing the MasterChef family on The Traitors Australia,” the insider said.
“If something like that came Declan’s way, he would absolutely consider it.”
