Dancing with the Stars Recap Episode 4: An elimination sees one star take their final bow

And one performance amazed the judges!

It’s episode four of Dancing with the Stars Australia 2023 and one star has taken their final bow during Sunday’s elimination.

Before the final result was delivered, Christie Whelan Browne stepped out with dance partner Craig Monley to perform a Cha Cha as two dolls who had just stepped out of a toybox.

Judge Sharna Burgess said it was “the most amazing way to start the show!”

Pia Miranda’s Argentine Tango followed, and although her performance was sultry, the judges believed she needed a stronger frame (SPAGHETTI ARMS) and more sexual chemistry.

Sally Pearson’s had an oopsy daisy when her footwork came unstuck while racing through her Jive. Craig Revel-Horwood said that she needed to work on putting her “weight…over her toes.”

Achieving redemption for his Rumba, Charlie Albone delivered two lifts without a single drop. And speaking of “Oopsy daisy” (IYKYK), Mark Wilson said, “There’s an awkwardness about you that’s a bit Hugh Grant-like.” LOL!

Winners and Losers’ Virginia Gay scored a stellar 36 points for her role-reversed Quickstep with dance partner Ian Waite, wearing matching polka-dot suits, no less!

The Bachelor alum and KIISFM radio host, Laura Byrne then delivered a dreamy Foxtrot.

Next was Phil Burton who Todd McKenney called “both a great performance and showed great technical ability” as he performed a passionate Paso Doble.

The dance-off

Given the audience vote changes who go to the elimination round, Charlie and Ruby, and Sally and Mitch were sent to the dance-off.

While Sally and Mitch performed a beautiful and technical waltz, Charlie went all out, giving everything he had to his salsa; however, it wasn’t quite enough and he was eliminated from the competition.

The final leaderboard for the night:

  • Virginia Gay and Ian Waite – 36
  • Phil Burton and Ash-Leigh Hunter – 35
  • Christie Whelan Browne and Craig Monley – 34
  • Laura Byrne and Danil Saveliev – 28
  • Sally Pearson and Mitch Kirkby – 27
  • Pia Miranda and Declan Taylor – 24
  • Charlie Albone and Ruby Gherbaz – 17
