Celebrity Traitors star Joanne McNally says the BBC stopped her from releasing a behind-the-scenes podcast after concerns were raised about what she could reveal.
Joanne and her podcast co-host, Vogue Williams, had recorded a special episode of My Therapist Ghosted Me. Producer Joe Attewell had already edited it, but the planned November 1 release never happened.
The pair finally explained what happened during their November 4 podcast episode, revealing that the recording had run into contractual problems.
Why was Joanne McNally’s Celebrity Traitors podcast stopped?
Podcast producer Joe Attewell explained that listeners had been demanding answers about the missing special.
Joe claimed the team had received as many as 9,000 messages from listeners wondering where the promised special had gone.
He said they recorded the special on October 30, with Vogue preparing questions about Joanne’s experience on Celebrity Traitors.
Joe had finished editing the recording that evening, but the episode never reached listeners.
He joked about being bundled into a BBC van before explaining that the broadcaster had raised concerns over the material.

According to Joe, the BBC told him that “just about everything” discussed in the recording violated contracts signed in connection with the show.
Joanne responded with a joke about being “taken to the gallows” if they released it.
Vogue also acknowledged the restrictions, saying, “Turns out we can’t say whatever we want.”
She added that the unreleased episode was “juicy!”
The podcast team did not identify which contractual clauses were involved or specify what information the BBC reportedly objected to.
What was Joanne planning to reveal about Celebrity Traitors?
The scrapped episode was intended to give listeners a closer look at Joanne’s experience filming the BBC reality TV competition.
Vogue had prepared a dedicated interview, with questions covering Joanne’s time inside Ardross Castle.
The planned special followed Joanne’s banishment during the October 29 semi-final, when her fellow contestants incorrectly suspected she was a Traitor.
Joanne had been playing as a Faithful, but King Kenny’s double-dagger advantage helped seal her exit from the competition.
She had already shared some behind-the-scenes details during the October 30 episode of My Therapist Ghosted Me.
Joanne explained that eliminated contestants were quickly taken away from the castle before returning the following day to film additional footage and interviews.
Production staff also had to ensure that eliminated contestants didn’t cross paths with players who were still competing.
However, neither Joanne nor Vogue revealed what specific details from their planned Q&A prompted the reported intervention.
The second series concluded on October 30, with Faithfuls Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft winning £83,000 for their chosen charities.
